Chapter 125: Chapter 125: The President is Waiting For You Over There

A soft chuckle came from the other end. "Remember me?"

Annabelle Linton’s brow furrowed. She felt like she’d heard his voice somewhere before, but she couldn’t quite place it.

"I don’t know you, and I don’t remember you. That’s all," she said flatly.

With that, she hung up.

’This girl’s got some real fire.’

A roguish smile touched Chase Lynch’s lips. Holding Annabelle Linton’s work ID in one hand, he narrowed his eyes slightly and called her back.

She didn’t pick up until the third time he called.

Annabelle’s lazy, impatient voice came through the receiver. "What now?"

Chase Lynch chuckled. "It’s Chase Lynch. We met recently. You rode in my car—I gave you a lift to Emberwood Gardens. Don’t you remember?"

Annabelle froze for a second as she searched her memory.

’Rode in his car...’

’The old manor...’

Annabelle remembered. It was him—the man she had run into the day she went to see Leona Grant’s parents.

She didn’t have much of an impression of him, and her tone remained indifferent. "I remember now. Was there something else?"

’Every other woman he’d met fell all over themselves to win his favor.’

’And yet this woman, knowing who he was, was still so indifferent.’

’Interesting.’

"You left your work ID with me. I’m at Thyssen Restaurant right now. Why don’t you come and pick it up?"

Annabelle considered it for a moment. She had no desire to see this Chase Lynch.

’She wasn’t going back to work anytime soon. She could just get a replacement then. There was no reason to go.’

Annabelle flatly refused. "No thanks. You can just throw the ID out. I’m not coming over."

"Don’t have time?"

"I don’t want to see you. And don’t call again."

And with that, Annabelle hung up on him again.

Chase Lynch was speechless.

Chase Lynch, however, was surprisingly good-tempered. Annabelle Linton was the first person in the world who had ever dared to hang up on him, or to try and pay him after he’d offered help.

And yet, surprisingly, he didn’t feel the least bit angry.

Chase Lynch scoffed and sent Annabelle a text.

Want to know who really acquired the Linton Group?

Annabelle’s eyes went cold. She immediately texted him back. "What do you mean by that?"

There was no reply.

Annabelle called again, and the line connected on the first ring.

BEEP... BEEP...

"Hello? Hello?" By the time Annabelle spoke, the call had already been disconnected.

Annabelle frowned.

’What on earth did Chase Lynch mean by that?’

’What did he mean when he said he knew who really acquired the Linton Group?’

’She’d been investigating for ages and had come up with nothing. Could this Chase Lynch person actually know?’

A thousand questions flooded her mind. After much hesitation, Annabelle finally hailed a cab and headed over.

Twenty minutes later, Annabelle arrived at the restaurant.

As soon as she got out of the cab, Chase Lynch’s assistant approached her. "Excuse me, are you Miss Linton?"

"I am."

"Alright. The CEO is waiting for you. Right this way, Miss Linton."

’CEO?’

’In this life or her last, Annabelle couldn’t recall ever knowing a CEO by the name of Chase Lynch.’

Annabelle pursed her lips. "What is the name of your company? And your CEO is Chase Lynch?"

"Our company is Norwing Company, and yes, our CEO’s name is Chase Lynch."

Annabelle nodded and followed the assistant into the restaurant.

「Inside the restaurant.」

An elegant man in a white shirt sat at a piano, his beautiful music filling the air. Roses, candlelight, red wine, and a magnificent crystal chandelier all came together to paint the restaurant in hues of noble elegance.

The moment Annabelle stepped inside, she saw Vivian Yates and Leona Grant having dinner at a table by the window.
