Chapter 126: Chapter 126: If It Really Comes to This, What Should She Do?

They looked like a happy couple, smiling and chatting pleasantly. The candlelight danced on their faces, creating a warm, intimate atmosphere.

Annabelle Linton’s lips twitched. She was about to leave, but then she reconsidered. ’Why should I be the one to go?’

Annabelle had only taken two steps when Chase Lynch came down from the piano. He spoke to her in a clear, indulgent voice, "What took you so long?"

The hint of playful complaint in his voice drew Leona Grant’s gaze. She glanced over casually, then froze the moment she saw Annabelle Linton.

Chase Lynch wore a white shirt and a black bow tie, exuding an air of elegance, charm, and roguish appeal. He walked up to Annabelle Linton, offered her a bouquet of roses, and extended a hand. With a deep, gentlemanly bow, he smiled. "My beautiful lady, may I invite you to dinner?"

Annabelle’s lips curled. In a low, serious voice, she stated a fact: "I didn’t come here just to have dinner with you. If you dare to mess with me today, you know what the consequences will be, don’t you?"

Chase Lynch chuckled. "We can talk while we eat."

Annabelle shot Chase Lynch a meaningful look. Without turning her head, she glanced toward Leona Grant’s table out of the corner of her eye and asked faintly, "Did you do this on purpose?"

"Heh." Chase Lynch understood her meaning. His lips curved into that roguish smile of his. "Your husband is sneaking around with his mistress. I just felt you ought to know. I can’t bear to see you get pushed around by some homewrecker. How about I help you get a little revenge?

Right now, your husband and his mistress are both looking over here. Are you going to retreat, or are you going to retaliate?"

"Hah." Annabelle laughed sarcastically.

’She was absolutely certain that Chase Lynch had done this on purpose.’

’But... she’d been pushed around her entire past life. This wasn’t even about revenge. Was she really going to run away again?’

Annabelle’s lips curved as she placed her hand in his. "They’re just insignificant people. Why don’t we discuss something more meaningful? Like... what you mentioned in your text?"

A flash of surprise flickered in Chase Lynch’s eyes, but he quickly covered it with a gentle smile. "Of course we can."

He then led Annabelle to their table and gallantly pulled out her chair.

Watching them talk and laugh together, Leona Grant tightened her grip on her knife and fork until her veins bulged. Her expression was a mask of calm indifference, but inwardly, a tempest was raging.

She watched Annabelle and Chase Lynch getting along so well at their table and found the sight incredibly jarring.

’That woman is truly shameless! Having a public rendezvous with her lover before we’re even divorced... How outrageous!’

Vivian Yates followed Leona Grant’s intense gaze and saw Annabelle Linton. A flicker of panic and cunning flashed in her eyes.

’Something’s changed.’

’A woman’s intuition was frighteningly accurate; she could clearly feel the shift in Leona Grant’s feelings toward Annabelle.’

’Leona’s feelings for Annabelle had changed. It might not be love, but she was slowly starting to pay more attention to her.’

’What am I going to do? Once Leona starts paying attention to Annabelle, given their relationship, it’s only a matter of time before she falls in love with her.’

’If it really comes to that, what will I do?’

’Just give her up without a fight?’

’I can’t!’

A sharp glint flashed in Vivian Yates’s eyes. Feigning surprise, she exclaimed, "Oh, isn’t that Annabelle? What’s she doing with the new CEO of the Lynch Group?"

Leona Grant swirled the red wine in her glass, her expression unreadable as she watched the pair talking and laughing in the distance.
