REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST WAR HERO-Chapter 337: Golden Eyes
Logan tried to process what he had just heard. 'Bend anyone below the level of a deity to my will… Is something like that really possible?' he wondered. 'This mighty being said the ability has some limitations. But can those even be called limitations? It cannot affect a deity… but why would I ever provoke a deity in the first place?'
After thinking for a while, Logan spoke again.
"Great sire, you said the first level would grant me two types of power. What about the second one?"
"The second power is the full activation of the first level of Dragon Awakening," the dragon replied.
This time, Logan didn't even have to ask further before the dragon continued explaining. "When the first level of Dragon Awakening is fully activated, all of your abilities — except special ones like Dragon's Glare — will be multiplied fivefold."
Logan's eyes widened in shock.
"Your speed, your strength, the destructive power of your spells, and even your control over them… all of it will increase five times."
"What?!" Logan's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. "Wouldn't that allow me to fight someone in a higher realm with ease? Like those four people who abducted me earlier… if I meet them again, I can definitely make them pay for it." He clenched his fist, excitement flashing across his face.
"Yes," the dragon replied calmly. "However, although you can already use Dragon's Glare, you must reach at least the Martial Emperor Realm or an equivalent realm in other cultivation paths before you can fully activate the first level of Dragon Awakening."
"Oh! Is that so? I got a little carried away." Logan exhaled and nodded. "Alright then. But how do I activate this Dragon's Glare?"
"Focus on the pupils of your eyes," the dragon replied calmly. "Then gather your killing intent, as if you are trying to intimidate someone." It continued, "You may also decide how much power you wish to put behind your Dragon's Glare. If you pour too much power into it while targeting someone weak, that person may die on the spot from the overwhelming suffocation and fear."
"Huh? Really? Is it that destructive?" Logan asked in surprise.
The dragon snorted faintly. "What do you take a dragon's glare for? Just because you were fortunate enough to obtain it, do not mistake it for some cheap skill or ability that can be learned or purchased at will." Its golden eyes gleamed faintly. "Other than dragons — and not even all dragons — only those with monarch-level bloodlines possess the ability to wield this power."
Logan quickly lowered his head slightly. "My apologies. I didn't mean any disrespect. I was just overwhelmed by how powerful it sounds."
He took a deep breath before continuing.
"Alright then. I'll give it a try. Please guide me if I'm doing it correctly."
With that, Logan began focusing on his eyes. He looked directly into the Golden Dragon's massive pupils. 'Next is killing intent… but how am I supposed to focus on that when I don't want to kill anyone?' he wondered.
Understanding the dragon's explanation had been easy. Putting it into practice was not.
Killing intent was the will to kill someone. The deeper the hatred toward a target, the stronger the urge — and the stronger the killing intent became.
But the being standing before Logan was not someone he wished to kill. If anything, he felt grateful toward it.
Logan tried to stir killing intent within himself.
Yet nothing happened.
He merely narrowed his eyes and concentrated, attempting to focus.
But there was no killing intent. No Dragon's Glare.
This continued for several more minutes, yet there was still no improvement.
Finally, the dragon spoke again. "The killing intent… do not focus it on a single person," it said slowly. "Instead, direct it toward those who stand against you — those who stand between you and what you strive to achieve."
The dragon's voice grew heavier. "And then… remember that feeling. That urge to tear their skin apart. That urge to make them bleed… to make them pay."
Logan listened carefully. Then, instead of continuing to stare ahead, he slowly closed his eyes. Faces began to flash through his mind.
Soldiers of the Nyvaria Kingdom. Nolan Ashborn, his sworn brother. Members of the Third Eye Sect.
Time passed.
Gradually, the air around Logan began to change. The aura surrounding him did not grow violent like before, when he was fighting the endless tide of enemies. But it grew sharper. Colder.
More time passed. And slowly… it began to calm.
Logan slowly opened his eyes again. This time, he did not narrow them. Yet his gaze had become intimidating.
A faint light flickered within his pupils, as if the Golden Dragon's aura were being reflected in them.
It happened several times. Something glowed in his eyes, only to fade away moments later like the brief flicker of a firefly.
Then it happened again.
A golden light appeared within his eyes. But this time.....
It did not vanish.
A thin golden ray formed at first, faint and delicate. And it continued to grow.... brighter and stronger.
Slowly…
Logan's eyes turned completely golden. The same color as the dragon's.
"Good," the dragon said calmly. "You may wake up now." It paused briefly before continuing. "Just remember — learn to control the power behind that gaze. Until you master it, do not use it before someone you do not wish to harm."
Logan nodded.
He slowly closed his eyes once more.
Outside the cave, Zola still stood silently beside Logan, while Chianxu watched from behind, her gaze filled with worry.
'Make it fast, Logan… please,' Chianxu prayed desperately. 'They are almost here.'
Suddenly....
Boom! 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
About a hundred meters away from where Logan and Chianxu stood, a massive explosion erupted.
Chianxu's eyes widened in horror. "No…! They're already here."
A figure slowly emerged from the smoke of the explosion. It was none other than Min Chong.
One after another, more figures stepped out from the thick clouds of smoke behind him.
Min Chong's sharp gaze quickly swept across the area before locking onto Chianxu and the two figures beside her. One standing. The other sitting in the lotus position.
"There."
