REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST WAR HERO-Chapter 336: Dragon’s Glare
Zola suddenly turned his gaze toward a distant direction. "They are coming," he said quietly.
"W... who?" Chianxu asked, her voice trembling slightly. "Is it someone from our spirit families... or the evil spirit families?" Her body grew tense. Logan still hadn’t finished the refinement. Or that’s what she believed. She didn’t know that the blood essence had already merged fully within Logan. But as he was still not done with his awakening, if anyone with malicious intent arrived now, everything he had endured until this moment would be wasted.
"Both," Zola replied calmly. "And it’s not just one person. They are all rushing here."
Chianxu’s heart sank. ’What??? This is bad... What should we do now?’ Panic surged through her mind.
Yet Zola’s expression did not change in the slightest. Not even for a moment did he flinch. He resumed observing Logan again. One more minute passed.
Finally.... "We should stop the trial now," he said slowly. "Otherwise, he may lose himself. His Dao heart could shatter." He paused before adding, "And... he doesn’t have much time either. They will arrive any moment."
"Alright," the female voice responded from within.
Inside Logan’s subconscious world, everything began to change.
Rudeous, Rowan, Lilith, and Daliah slowly began to fade away. Even Alice’s lifeless body began to dissolve like mist.
At the same time, the endless spawning of enemies suddenly stopped. From the distant horizon, the countless figures began disappearing one after another, vanishing into nothingness.
But Logan had not yet stopped. Nothing mattered to him anymore. He continued to slaughter. Whether it was human, beast, or monster — his sword treated them all the same.
His wrath no longer had a target. It had only one purpose now. To kill anything that appeared before his eyes.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Logan’s sword flashed repeatedly as he tore through the battlefield.
Finally, he lunged toward another monster, ready to decapitate it like all the others.
Whoosh!
His blade whistled through the air, but....
struck nothing.
The last enemy had already faded away.
Logan slowly turned his head.
No one.
He looked to the right.
Still nothing.
His gaze swept across the empty battlefield like a starving tiger searching desperately for prey.
But there was nothing left.
The veins on his neck began to bulge. The aura surrounding him grew increasingly violent. The more he searched and found nothing, the more furious he became.
Suddenly...
A tiny sparkle appeared in the distance. Just like before. A golden streak of light shot toward him from afar.
But unlike the previous time, Logan moved as well.
Drawing both arms back, he shot forward like a cannon, his sword ready to strike the incoming light.
From afar, it looked like two streaks of light racing toward each other. One black. One golden.
Five seconds.
Three.
One.
WHOOOOOOOOOOSH!
A massive gust of wind slammed into Logan, nearly knocking him off his feet. But he growled and held his ground.
The streak of light slowed, revealing its true form. The Golden Dragon appeared before him once again. "Don’t overestimate yourself," the dragon’s voice thundered across the void.
Logan paid no attention to its words. The ground beneath his feet cracked as he leaped upward, soaring into the sky as he rushed straight toward the dragon’s head.
"Tch." The dragon’s forehead twitched slightly, though Logan failed to notice it.
Just as Logan raised his sword to strike...
A figure suddenly appeared between them.
Logan halted abruptly. "Mother?!"
The person who appeared was none other than Alice.
"Your mother never died. Did you forget where you are?" the dragon said calmly.
At the same moment, a drop of water fell onto Logan’s head.
Instantly, the darkness in his eyes vanished.
His sanity returned.
Logan slowly reached out toward Alice. But his hand passed right through her.
"Don’t worry," the dragon said. "She was never here. What you saw earlier was simply part of the trial. And you have already passed it." The dragon’s tone had softened slightly compared to before.
But Logan remained silent, still struggling to process everything. ’Was she really not here? But it felt so real... every moment of it.’
"She was never here," the dragon said again, as if reading his thoughts. "If you still doubt me, leave this place quickly and go find her yourself. Then you will understand. Your trial has already ended anyway."
Logan finally spoke. "It ended? That means... I passed the trial?"
"Yes," the dragon replied. "You have awakened the first level of the Dragon Awakening."
"But what exactly is this first level of Dragon Awakening?" Logan asked.
"The first level of Dragon Awakening grants you two types of power," the dragon replied calmly. "When partially activated, your eyes will gain an ability known as Dragon’s Glare."
"Dragon’s Glare?" Logan frowned slightly. "What does that do?"
"Anyone who meets your gaze will feel the will of the Dragon. Unless their existence stands on the level of a deity... they will have no choice but to obey."
"What?!" Logan’s eyes widened in disbelief. "Such power actually exists?" He was completely stunned just from hearing how terrifying the ability was.
"Yes... it does," the dragon replied. "But..."
"But what?" Logan asked immediately.
The dragon’s massive golden eyes narrowed slightly. "If the one who falls under your gaze stands at a higher realm than you, the will of the dragon will not descend upon them without resistance. In such a case, you will suffer a backlash."
Logan’s brows furrowed.
"The greater the gap between your realms," the dragon continued, its voice echoing like distant thunder, "the stronger the backlash will be. At the same time, the duration of your authority over them will shorten." The dragon paused briefly before speaking again.
"However... do not misunderstand the power you have obtained." Its gaze locked onto Logan. "The will of a dragon is not something ordinary beings can defy. Even the most powerful existence below the level of a deity will be forced to submit before your Dragon’s Glare... even if only for a few seconds. And over time, with your realm increasing... This power will only grow domineering."
