REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST WAR HERO-Chapter 333: Memories Of The Past
For a moment, the female voice did not reply.
It was as if she were weighing the pros and cons.
"But what if he fails to keep up... and fails to protect them?" she finally said. "They won’t truly die, of course. But it may damage his Dao heart, and his progress could stop here. His killing intent is already strong enough, but for the first level of the Dragon Awakening... he still needs to go a little further." Her voice echoed faintly inside Zola’s mind.
Zola shrugged lightly. "I think he will do just fine," he said calmly. "Besides, if we keep the current pace, he might end up carrying the burden of guilt for failing to help our guest’s family. Which will damage his Dao heart anyway. The choice is yours."
The female voice fell silent again, clearly hesitant. Several moments passed. Finally...
"Alright," she said.
Inside Logan’s subconscious world...
Logan continued the massacre. His opponents were growing stronger with every passing moment, yet his killing intent surged just as fiercely.
The sheer pressure of his existence alone was enough to crush an ordinary human.
A metallic giant suddenly swung its massive sword toward Alice. But Logan appeared like a phantom. His body spun through the air, his leg smashing into the sword....
Boom!
The impact sent the colossal blade flying backward along with the giant that wielded it.
A miniature fireball shot out from Logan’s palm and chased after the flying giant.
The instant the fiery orb touched the metal surface...
Banggggg!
A thunderous explosion erupted. The giant disintegrated, and several nearby enemies perished within the blast.
The next moment...
Logan blurred and vanished again.
He reappeared elsewhere.
An eerie-looking beast was charging toward Lilith. Logan appeared in its path and thrust his sword forward.
Boom!
A deafening bang echoed. An invisible force burst forth. A massive hole appeared in the monster’s chest, yet the force did not stop there. It continued forward, striking another beast behind it.
The second creature instantly turned into a mangled mass of flesh as blood splattered through the air.
Six days had already passed. Logan had been fighting nonstop for six days. With time, his attacks had undergone a dramatic transformation. If his real parents and friends had been here, they might have felt fear at the sight of how ruthlessly he fought.
As Logan continued slaughtering his enemies...
Suddenly....
Something changed.
The space in the void distorted. For a brief moment, every enemy froze. A chilling breeze swept by.
Logan also stopped, confused. "What’s going on?"
Then, the way they had suddenly stopped, they started moving abruptly again.
But something was wrong. Very wrong.
They were the same enemies, yes. Yet their strength, speed, and ferocity had changed completely.
It was as if they had been holding back all this time, using only a fraction of their power, and had now decided to finish everything within a single moment.
The enemies started closing in; the gap Logan had created, driving them away, began to close.
Logan swung his blade. The strike still decapitated a beast. But at the same time...
Two fireballs shot toward him from opposite directions.
Boom!
The explosions collided with his body. His clothes were shredded as his body was hurled backward through the smoke.
Still airborne...
"Blarrghhh!"
A colossal sword suddenly descended from above, piercing straight through his chest and pinning him to the ground.
His movement stopped instantly. "What the hell...?" Logan muttered weakly. "How did they suddenly become this strong...?"
He tried to rise...
But it was useless.
A towering metallic giant stood above him, gripping the sword like an immovable mountain.
Logan’s gaze swept across the battlefield.
Enemies were rapidly closing in on Alice, Rudeous, and the others.
"No... no, no, no! Scram!" he roared. He thrust his hand toward the metallic giant.
A bolt of lightning streaked across the void and struck the giant directly.
The creature was blasted off the ground and sent flying. The sword was ripped free and flung away in another direction.
Logan quickly rose to his feet. He was about to rush toward Alice...
But then...
Schlk! A sound.
"Ahhhhhhh." A scream.
Logan slowly turned his head, trying to calm his heart. But what he feared most had happened.
A claw pierced through Alice’s back and burst out from her chest. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Logan’s body froze. A memory suddenly surfaced in his mind.
A sword pierced a woman. Tears rolled down her cheeks.
It was Aiden Ferith’s wife, his wife from his previous life.
He saw himself rushing toward her desperately.
But he was a little bit late.
His wife raised her trembling hand to stop him. Right then, the man pulled out the sword....
And stabbed again.
Schlk!
Aiden Ferith finally crossed the distance that felt like a millennium and thrust his sword forward. The tip of his sword pierced through the man’s forehead.
His hands left the woman. She started to fall, but Aiden’s hand scooped her up, stopping her from falling. But the moment his skin touched hers, his heart broke.
Dead! She was already dead.
Silence. Everything around Logan seemed to freeze. It was as if time itself had stopped.
Then...
Something happened. Something none of them had expected. Not Logan. Not Zola.
Not even the mysterious female voice within him.
Logan slowly raised his hand. Five swords from different directions suddenly shot through the air.
In the next instant...
They struck the monster that had pierced Alice. Its head flew in one direction. Three limbs were severed and flung in three other directions. One limb remained embedded inside Alice’s body as the body thudded to the ground.
Logan blurred forward and appeared beside her.
Alice was about to collapse. Logan caught her with one arm. His other hand rose slowly behind.
His five fingers curled slightly, as if crushing an invisible object.
Instantly...
The monster’s head, limbs, and body exploded into fragments before disintegrating into nothingness.
Every enemy froze. Outside...
Zola’s body suddenly stiffened. It was as if he had just seen a ghost.
Even the mysterious female voice within Zola fell completely silent.
"Telekinesis." Zola whispered.
