REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST WAR HERO-Chapter 332: Desperate Measure
Jong Dao rushed toward Hueng Long while Lin Dao remained beside Feng Dao. But just as Jong Dao bent down to check Hueng Long’s condition...
Bam!
A massive blast of energy slammed into him, sending him flying through the air.
Min Chong landed heavily beside Hueng Long, his eyes cold. "Trying to save him?" he sneered. "Did I give you permission?"
He lifted his foot and pressed it down on Hueng Long’s head, slowly grinding it into the ground. Then he raised his sword and pointed its tip toward Jong Dao.
The tip began to glow. And in the next instant, a beam of energy burst forth, shooting straight toward him.
"No!" Lin Dao and Feng Dao shouted at the same time.
But it was already too late.
Jong Dao tried to dodge, but the beam pierced straight through his chest — exactly where his heart should have been.
He froze. Then slowly... his body dropped to his knees, collapsing onto his side the next moment.
"Father!" Lin Dao cried. Without caring about her own life in the slightest, she sprang to her feet and ran toward him.
Min Chong calmly moved his hand, aligning the tip of his sword toward Lin Dao this time.
Feng Dao was frozen in shock and despair.
But the moment he saw his precious granddaughter rushing toward the same fate...
something inside him snapped.
"Blood Essence... burn," he murmured.
The moment the words left his lips, he focused on his heartbeat. Then on his heart, followed by something within it.
That something began to glow, slowly burning. Instantly, Feng Dao’s aura transformed. His strength started skyrocketing.
He pushed himself to his feet... And then...
Whoosh!
Min Chong was just about to release the beam again when suddenly something powerful wrapped around his wrist, jerking his arm upward.
Before Min Chong could even react...
Bam!
A brutal punch crashed into his stomach.
"Blarrghhh!" His body flew backward as blood sprayed from his mouth.
Feng Dao stood there, his aura raging like a storm.
"Lin," he said without turning around, his gaze fixed on the direction Min Chong had been sent flying. "I know you’re not in the state to listen to reason right now... but you must." His voice hardened. "If you don’t want more people to die, go to the Long Family head. Ask him where Logan is. Then find him... and help him."
A heavy silence lingered before he finished. "It all depends on you now. The faster you bring him back... the fewer people will die."
With that said, Feng Dao slowly began walking toward where Min Chong had fallen.
Lin Dao wiped away her tears with trembling hands. She glanced at her father one last time. Then she quickly took out a pill, forced it into Jong Dao’s mouth, and rushed toward Hueng Long.
Hueng Long’s body lay on the ground, unmoving. Whether he was alive or dead was impossible to tell.
Lin Dao hurried to his side and crouched down. She placed two fingers beneath his nose, checking his breath.
A moment later, she let out a sigh of relief.
"Still breathing."
She placed both palms on his chest and slowly circulated a stream of her spiritual energy into his body.
Hueng Long’s eyebrows twitched faintly.
Then, after a moment, his eyes slowly opened.
"Master," Lin Dao said urgently. "The situation is dire. Grandfather asked me to find out where Logan is from you and bring him back as quickly as possible."
Hueng Long struggled to lift his head slightly from the ground. With great effort, his eyes swept across the battlefield.
Several members of the Spirit Families had already fallen. Others were still fighting desperately.
Then his gaze landed on Feng Dao. "He is burning his blood essence to forcefully boost his strength," Hueng Long murmured weakly. "But once that power fades... his life will be at their mercy. He may even die... or become crippled." Pain flashed across his face as he slowly closed his eyes. ’I should have been more cautious when bringing the young master here,’ he thought bitterly. ’I should have planned for his safety from the very beginning. Then none of this would have happened...’
"Master?" Lin Dao called again anxiously.
Hueng Long slowly opened his eyes. "I had arranged for Chianxu to infiltrate the Chong estate while the others were occupied," he said weakly. "The blood essence was entrusted to her." He paused for a moment before continuing. "If we are fortunate, she should already be with the young master... helping him refine it. Go and help them. I only hope the young master can successfully claim the inheritance."
Lin Dao nodded without hesitation and rushed away. Her heart pounded violently in her chest. ’Can he really save us all...?’ she wondered. ’Or are we all destined to die here today...?’
Back outside the cave...
Logan was still seated in the lotus position.
Almost thirty minutes had passed. Which meant that six days had already passed within Logan’s subconscious world.
Chianxu stood nearby, her body stiff and unmoving. The aura surrounding Logan was growing colder with each passing second. It was suffocating. A chilling pressure filled the air, making it feel as though her body was slowly going numb.
It felt as if a monstrous, colossal being was staring directly at her. The moment she moved, her life would be extinguished instantly.
Zola, on the other hand, was observing everything inside Logan’s subconsciousness calmly. A faint smile lingered on his lips, as if he were thoroughly enjoying whatever he was watching.
Though the enemies were becoming more formidable with every passing moment, not a single one of them had managed to get close to Rudeous, Alice, Rowan, Daliah, or Lilith.
Endless enemies charged toward them, only to be cut down one after another by Logan.
Suddenly, Zola spoke. "You can’t reduce the difficulty to help him," he said casually. "But can’t you increase it instead?" 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
"What do you think I’ve been doing?" the female voice responded from within. "Raising the difficulty is part of the trial."
"Yes," Zola replied lazily. "But this pace is getting boring." His gaze shifted slightly toward Chianxu. "And judging by the look of it, our little guest here is also getting rather desperate."
His words made Chianxu even more nervous. She still had no idea who Zola was talking to whenever he spoke like this.
"Then what do you suggest?" the female voice asked.
Zola chuckled softly. "How about we make things a little more interesting?" His eyes gleamed faintly. "Instead of raising the difficulty gradually... why not spike it? Raise it in a jump."
