REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST WAR HERO-Chapter 322: Hueng Long Fallen?
Not only the Martial Sovereigns but the whole battlefield had descended into complete chaos.
From Martial Emperors to Martial Kings, every single cultivator was locked in a life-and-death struggle. No one had the luxury to breathe, let alone relax.
Swoosh!
A blade sliced through the air. A young girl bent low, narrowly evading the strike, and retaliated with a swift kick.
Pahh!
Her foot slammed into the man’s chest. He coughed out a mouthful of blood before collapsing heavily onto the ground.
But before she could steady herself, another enemy rushed in from her blind spot. His fist carried crushing force, spiritual energy swirling violently around it — clearly intending to end her life in a single blow.
She hadn’t noticed him earlier. And by the time she did...
It was too late.
The fist was only a hair’s breadth away from her face.
"N—!" She instinctively tried to shout...
Thud!
Luckily, before she had to taste the fist, a powerful kick smashed into the attacker’s ribs, sending him flying several meters away like a broken kite.
"Chianxu! What the hell are you doing?" Xiao Long’s voice rang out sharply. "A moment of carelessness will get you killed on the battlefield. Don’t you ever let your guard down like that again!"
Chianxu steadied her breathing and nodded. "Thank you for the help. I’ll be more careful."
"For now, focus on what Master told you to do," Xiao said firmly. "I’ll clear the path for you."
Chianxu’s gaze shifted toward a specific direction in the distance. Her eyes hardened with resolve. Then she nodded.
Amid the chaos of the battlefield, no one had the time or the spare attention to question their exchange.
Another attacker lunged forward with a sword raised high.
Boom!
Xiao’s fist, infused with concentrated spiritual energy, shot out like a cannon.
The enemy was blasted away before his blade could even descend.
"Go. Now!" Xiao urged.
This time, Chianxu didn’t hesitate. She darted forward, weaving through the storm of blades and fists, her figure flickering between attacks as she advanced toward her destination without looking back.
Back at the clash between Hueng Long and the two members of the Chong Family — Min Chong and the eldest guardian...
"Min Chong, hold him for a moment!" With that shout, the eldest guardian abruptly withdrew from the clash. He stopped advancing and raised his double-bladed axe high before him, spiritual energy gathering around its edges like a brewing storm.
Hueng Long’s eyes sharpened. ’This is my only chance.’ He thought.
Though powerful, he was being suppressed. Facing two opponents at once, both formidable in their own right, left him unable to seize any real advantage. The moment he noticed the guardian preparing something devastating, he understood what had to be done.
He had to eliminate Min Chong first.
No hesitation. No retreat.
Hueng Long exploded forward, pouring every ounce of strength into his charge.
Min Chong tightened his grip on his katana and let out a low chuckle. "Oh, Hueng... you don’t actually believe you can take me down, do you?"
Seeing Hueng Long rushing straight at him, Min Chong didn’t even flinch.
And then....
Clanggggg!
Steel collided with steel. Their blades locked, their gazes devouring one another in silent fury.
They broke apart... Then charged at one another again.
Clang! Clang!
The battlefield around them blurred as Hueng Long and Min Chong descended into a ferocious sword duel. Sparks scattered like fireworks. Spiritual energy surged violently, spilling from their bodies like vapor under extreme heat.
Hueng Long fought with urgency. Every strike carried killing intent. He needed a decisive outcome — fast.
But Min Chong proved maddeningly resilient. Though slightly weaker, he stood his ground, parrying, deflecting, and countering with relentless precision.
And then...
A thunderous roar shook the battlefield.
"Reaper’s Slash!" The eldest guardian’s voice boomed across the sky as he swung his massive axe from a distance. A colossal white arc of condensed energy tore through the air, slicing toward Hueng Long at terrifying speed despite the considerable distance between them.
Hueng Long’s pupils contracted. He immediately raised his greatsword with both hands, stabilizing his stance.
’This... this is looking bad.’
And then....
The arc struck.
For a split second, hope flickered — perhaps he could deflect it... perhaps withstand it... 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
But...
Crack!
That hope shattered. His blade exploded into fragments the instant it met the arc. The white arc of energy continued forward without losing momentum and slammed directly into Hueng Long’s chest.
"Blarrghhh!"
Blood sprayed into the air as his body was blasted backward like a broken doll. When he hit the ground, a long, grotesque crimson gash stretched across his chest. Blood oozed uncontrollably from the wound.
"Nooooo!"
Cries of panic erupted from the members of the Five Spirit Families. Several of them instinctively tried to rush toward Hueng Long...
But why would the members of the evil spirit families let that happen? Each one of them clenched their teeth and started fighting with even greater determination, throwing themselves at their respective opponents without hesitation.
They had no choice.
Hueng Long was the strongest among them.
If he was taken out of the fight, not only the Five Spirit Families would lose one more Martial Sovereign, the pillar of their confidence would crumble too — and that alone could decide the entire war.
But they couldn’t suppress all. Feng Dao was desperate. His fingers crossed swiftly as he formed a seal and shouted, "Blinding Flare!"
Boom!
An explosion erupted from where he stood.
Yet it wasn’t destructive.
Instead, an overwhelming burst of white light flooded the battlefield — so intense, so piercing, that for several crucial seconds, no one could see anything at all.
Vision was swallowed by brilliance. Shouts of confusion echoed. And within those few seconds of blindness....
Feng Dao moved.
Like a phantom slipping through chaos, he dashed toward Hueng Long’s fallen figure. He reached him in an instant. Standing protectively before the wounded sovereign, Feng Dao’s expression hardened.
With a swift motion, he reached into his spatial pouch and pulled out a long iron rod, its surface dull yet faintly pulsing with restrained energy.
The blinding light began to fade. Shapes returned. Silhouettes sharpened. But before the eldest guardian could fully grasp what had happened....
Blarrghhh!
