REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST WAR HERO-Chapter 323: The Orb With The Golden Light
The eldest guardian slowly looked down. His lips were stained with blood.
A thick iron rod had pierced straight through his chest — Feng Dao gripping one end tightly. The other end had burst out from his back, slick with crimson.
He could feel it. The cold metal embedded deep within him.
"Blarrghhh!"
Another mouthful of blood gushed from his lips as his body trembled violently. His strength gave out, and he collapsed to his knees. The massive double-bladed axe slipped from his grasp and struck the ground with a heavy thud.
"Serves you right, you scum," Feng Dao said coldly, a flicker of satisfaction crossing his face.
But that satisfaction lasted only a heartbeat.
Boom!
An explosive wave of spiritual energy slammed into Feng Dao’s shoulder.
Whoosh!
He was blasted away, tumbling through the air before crashing several meters back.
It was Min Chong. In a desperate attempt to save the eldest guardian, he had launched the attack with every ounce of his power without hesitation. Now he rushed forward, catching the collapsing figure before he could fall completely.
"Elder... are you... are you alright?" Min Chong’s voice trembled despite himself. The person before him wasn’t just a strong cultivator he had brought along with, but a pillar of the Chong family.
The eldest guardian opened his mouth. He tried to speak. But no words came out.
And then...
Nothing.
The light in his eyes dimmed. Gone.
Min Chong froze. For a moment, he simply stared. Then his fingers slowly curled into fists. Veins bulged across his forehead as rage distorted his expression.
"You bastards..." he growled, his voice trembling with fury. "I will make you pay."
With that, Min Chong rose to his feet and shot forward like a streak of killing intent, his aura flickering violently around him.
Feng Dao had already regained his footing. He wiped the blood from the corner of his lips and steadied himself.
"Hmph! Don’t act like you’re the victim here," Feng Dao sneered. "It looks disgusting. When you kidnapped the Young Master... when you schemed against us... did you never consider that you might end up paying the price too?"
Min Chong did not respond. He continued to rush forward.
And then....
A vicious upward slash tore through the air, aimed straight at Feng Dao.
Feng Dao swiftly drew a sword from his spatial pouch and met the strike head-on.
Clang!
A thunderous metallic crash erupted as their blades collided, spiritual energy rippling outward in violent waves.
Feng Dao gritted his teeth and tried to hold his ground. But the force behind Min Chong’s strike was overwhelming. His boots carved deep trenches into the earth as his body was pushed backward, the soil tearing apart beneath his heels.
Before he could even stabilize himself...
Min Chong was already in front of him again.
No hesitation. No mercy.
He thrust his katana forward.
A violent burst of condensed spiritual energy exploded from the blade, tearing through the air like a raging comet and slamming directly into Feng Dao’s chest.
Boom!
Feng Dao’s body jerked violently. But only for a moment. Then....
His body froze.
A small hole appeared in the center of his chest. For a split second... Nothing happened.
Then...
Blood burst out uncontrollably. His eyes widened as his strength left him. His body fell backward, crashing heavily onto the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust.
"Damn it..." Hueng Long cursed hoarsely from where he lay. He was still sprawled on the ground, battered and barely conscious. The earlier impact had drained nearly all of his strength. If Feng Dao hadn’t rushed to shield him, he would have already died.
But now...
Seeing Feng Dao’s condition, regret burned in his chest.
Min Chong didn’t even bother checking whether Feng Dao was dead or still clinging to life.
To him, it no longer mattered. He turned slowly and began walking toward Hueng Long.
Each step was heavy. Deliberate.
The Chong Family guardian, who had been fighting Feng Dao, also stepped forward, standing nearby like a silent executioner.
Min Chong stopped in front of Hueng Long.
Then... He lifted his leg and pressed his foot down on Hueng Long’s wounded chest.
Hueng coughed in pain, blood staining his lips.
"Give me the blood essence, Hueng," Min Chong said coldly. "Do that, and I might still let the rest of you leave alive." His eyes darkened. "But if you dare refuse... I will make sure every single person you brought here dies today."
Hueng Long forced out a weak laugh, though each breath was agony. "Yeah... right," he rasped. "I’ll just hand it over because you asked so nicely?"
He met Min Chong’s gaze despite the pain.
"You will never get your hands on the blood essence."
Min Chong did not argue. The cruel, playful demeanor he had worn earlier was completely gone. What remained was something far more dangerous.
His face hardened. His aura trembled violently. He looked like a ferocious beast whose prey had been stolen — eyes burning with unrestrained fury, sanity hanging by a thread.
Gritting his teeth, he crouched down. He began searching Hueng Long’s body, checking every spatial artifact Hueng possessed. One after another, he scanned his rings and pouches.
He looked desperate for the blood essence.
Across the battlefield, the remaining members of the Five Spirit Families watched helplessly as they continued fighting.
They wanted to rush forward. They wanted to stop him. They wanted to protect the blood essence at any cost.
But they couldn’t.
Each of them was locked in a fierce struggle against their own opponents. Their hands were full, their movements restrained, their bodies battered. Any attempt to disengage would mean instant death.
And so they could only fight harder... desperation burning in their hearts.
Meanwhile...
Inside the Chong Family estate...
Chianxu moved swiftly through a long stone corridor. The clash of battle echoed faintly from outside, but within these halls, an eerie silence prevailed.
In her hand, she held a shining orb. Golden light pulsed from it in steady waves. With every step she took, the glow intensified — brighter... warmer... more resonant. As if responding to something nearby.
Suddenly...
She stopped. Before her stood a heavy wooden door on the left side of the corridor.
The orb in her palm now blazed with dazzling brilliance, its golden light almost unbearable to look at.
"This is it," she whispered.
