Reincarnation Of The Legendary Sword Saint-Chapter 88: Cataclysm
"It’s getting weaker. This is our final chance. Now, let’s keep pushing it!" Derek shouted, determination burning in his eyes.
"Well, yes. And the fire is getting weaker," Derek said, eyes narrowing as he assessed the battlefield.
"We can only deal damage to the core, but it’s taking time, and the school keeps getting destroyed. The good part is the fire is weak. It won’t burn us if we strike in and out fast," Loka added.
Kyle and the others all nodded in agreement.
Without hesitation, they leaped into the air, higher than anyone had thought possible, aiming straight for the core. Swords raised, they struck in perfect unison: slash, slash, slash, slash, slash! Each blade cut through the core, their energy colliding and tumbling against it with immense force.
Derek went last. His red aura flared brighter than ever as he shot forward at incredible speed. With a powerful strike, he pierced the core. The core shattered completely.
The massive flame vanished instantly, its heat and light snuffed out. Every smaller living flame emerging from the ground disappeared as well, including those Velqira, Daryl, and some of the teachers had been battling.
"Wow. They did it!"
"Whoa!"
Students from other classes watching through the windows erupted into applause, cheering for the first-class students who had just saved the academy.
They all raised their heads high, looking at the students cheering for them. As their gazes shifted to the damaged walls, they realized almost half of the school property had been destroyed. Large sections of the grounds were ruined, and parts of the buildings and domes had collapsed, but the main building was still standing. The damage was heavy, but not fatal.
"Wow. They actually did it," Velqira said.
That was when Rowan felt it.
Something shifted.
It was as if a decision had been made.
It’s not over, Rowan thought.
He snapped his fingers.
His presence vanished completely.
Then he snapped again.
A clone replaced him, still seated in class, while his true body became untouchable. In the next instant, Rowan flew out through the window, rising into the air before landing atop the highest point of the school building.
"He’s gotten stronger than he was yesterday," Rowan muttered.
Suddenly, the density of the air changed.
It felt heavy, oppressive.
It was like gravity itself had increased.
"One knee!"
"I can barely stand!"
"I’m getting weaker!"
Voices rang out as people struggled.
The air darkened. It thickened.
And then,
Kosan appeared in the sky.
He looked different than before.
His horn was larger. His club longer. Armor covered his body, flames coiling around him like living fire. He descended from the air and slammed into the ground.
BOOM!
"Bloody hell. It’s a demon!"
Students inside the building screamed, panic spreading as they ran.
"Wait, don’t panic!"
"We still have the first-class students!"
"Yeah. They’ll handle it!"
The voices steadied themselves.
All eyes turned forward.
"A demon," Derek muttered. "I can tell. This is a high-ranking one."
"You all, don’t be scared," Derek said firmly. "We can take it out."
"I’m not sure about that," Soren said. "Can’t you feel that aura?"
"If we gather enough numbers, about ten Sword God users, and get support from those above, we can still fight," Derek replied. "They’re Sword God too."
Kosan’s gaze shifted.
He looked down at Derek and the others.
"How dare humans stare me in the eyes," Kosan said coldly. "An inferior species standing eye to eye with me?"
"Bow."
The pressure exploded outward.
Every Sword God user, every student, was slammed to the ground.
Gravity crushed them flat.
"Agh!"
They struggled, trembling.
"I... I can’t move," Derek groaned, forcing his head up, only to be slammed back down again.
"What the hell is this? This is something I’ve never felt..." Derek muttered, eyes narrowing.
Wait. What if there are Sword Lords, this Sword Lord class, or even Sword Masters? Even combining forces, it would be useless.
"Damn it. I’m sure everyone..." Derek trailed off, staring at the corpse as flames engulfed its body. He moved forward, determined, fire coiling around him.
A teacher stepped in front of him. "You bastard! Go away from him!" the teacher shouted, barely raising a hand.
Kosan turned toward the teacher. His hand moved, and flames erupted, but no attack came out in a normal form.
BOOM!
Flames engulfed the teacher entirely, burning every inch of his body. The teacher screamed in agony, his cries echoing across the grounds. Some students outside could see what was happening, while others, still on their knees, could only hear the horrifying screams.
In barely five seconds, all that remained of the teacher was a charred skeleton.
From atop the academy, Rowan watched silently.
Not yet, he said to himself.
As they watched, he didn’t walk forward. He grabbed Derek by the neck.
"Hey," Kosan said coldly, lifting him off the ground. "Tell me. Where is the crystal? And that little boy, the strongest one?"
"What do you mean?" Derek gasped. "What crystal? And what strongest boy? Right now, there’s no student stronger than me."
Kosan’s grip tightened.
Crack.
Derek’s bones shattered as pain exploded across his face. Blood sprayed from his mouth.
"I’ll be kind one last time," Kosan said, eyes burning. "Tell me now, or you die."
"I... I really don’t know," Derek forced out.
"Well," Kosan said calmly, raising his right hand, "bye-bye."
Just then,
The air shifted.
Aura surged freely, violently, with insane pressure.
"He’s here," Rowan said quietly, standing at the top of the building, watching.
Something fell from above.
No, someone.
"What the hell?!"
A man crashed down from the sky, barely controlling an aggressive wyvern beneath him. The moment he hit the ground, he raised his sword and slashed the air.
SHRRK.
The wyvern’s neck was severed cleanly. Its head rolled away as its body collapsed.
Kosan straightened, turning slowly toward the man.
"Tch. Looks like I’m late," the man said. "And not only that, it wasn’t easy.
I had to forcefully drag a wyvern here even though it tried to kill me. Barely controlled it."
