Reincarnated With The Van Helsing System-Chapter 623: Challenges Daimon & Nethereal sisters, Jazmine’s version (part 12)
But it's not like the light green haired girl was going to let such a thing weight on her, not when her fighting spirit has gone through the roof after seeing Chris fight earlier, apparently Cassy and the honey eyed girl had developed some sort of rivalry.
Perhaps because they were similar, as in they were the childhood friend of a princess and took quite seriously the role of helping them, everything started when the Nethereal sisters were designated to be the "Queen" pieces, naturally Sarah couldn't keep herself from bragging about the fact that Daimon was going to be their king.
Which led to Chris claim that if Daphne was here, she would have been designated as a queen piece as well and that she'll dedicate an overwhelming victory to her childhood friend, unaware that she fell victim to a scheme from the crazy girl to "boost" the morale of the pieces that were going to fight for her little sister.
Anyway, the point is that Cassy also declared that she'll obtain an amazing victory for Jasmine in response to Chris, so she wasn't going to let the opponent dictate the rhythm of the fight, as she pleased.
With burning fighting spirit as she saw the assassin nethereal woman further accelerate into the distance with a smile of sufficiency, Cassy softly snorted.
"Forest Stride", with a couple of words the young miss of the Bamboo Forest sect, disappeared from her previous position, shortening the distance between herself and the enemy in half when she reappeared.
'Heh, what do you think you'll achieve with tha…', the assassin nethereal woman's train of thought was interrupted by the sight of Cassy's green jade sword exploding in pink flames?
"Demon Subduing Wood Sword, Pink Blade", proving the previous supposition of the enemy wrong, the pink "flames" that covered Cassy's sword, revealed their real appearance, they were composed of a large quantity of ethereal pink petals, similar to those of either a cherry tree or a peach tree, that took the form of a giant hundred-meter blade using Cassy's sword as its base.
The poison nethereal had no time to admire the interesting scene created by all those pink petal gathering on the sword of the enemy, since said sword was being slashed at her and despite how pretty they looked, she was assaulted by a sensation of imminent danger.
'Dodge, no, I won't completely make it in time, shit!', the poison nethereal first's idea was to directly get away, but her instincts warned her that, it wouldn't be enough to escape from the danger, so she gritted her teeth and answered in kind by using a spell to clash with the enemy, like she did earlier.
"Battleground Poison Barrier!", barely making it in time for when Cassy's sword was slashed in her direction, releasing a large stream of mana that instantly reached the enemy at an insane high speed.
The previous attack met with a dark green nether wall that was projected by the enemy and the result was a fierce clash of energies, imagine a reaction like the one produced when someone drops water on a pan with hot oil but multiplied by a few dozens of times.
"Boooom!", the result was as one would expect a thunderous explosion, that took the nethereal by surprise, she was already retreating the very second, she finished casting her defensive spell, and yet she was hit by the shockwave which sent her flying by the impact, alongside poison that splattered all over the vicinity and petals that were scattered by the clash.
"Agh, damn it", the pain was minimal but she still felt her innards shake, which was confusing, her poison had high offensive properties yes, but it shouldn't cause such a violent reaction, at least not the one she just used, as for the enemy, her affinity was wood, her mana shouldn't have such an explosive property either.
Unfortunately, she didn't have the time to ponder about it as of current, since a green flash came out of the energy cloud produced by the clash of the previous attack, but that wasn't the problem, but the fact that the moment the enemy appeared, all the pink mana petals that weren't destroyed, came flying at het.
"Demon Subduing Wood Sword, Blossom Rain", with a smirk and a beckon from her sword, all the petals poured down upon the poison user nethereal making her see red.
'This bitch, she is playing with me!', she inwardly screamed, judging by the slight smirk on Cassy's face, she was getting back at the nethereal for having rained down poison on her earlier.
This time there wasn't an explosion, the petals cut through the air and descended at high speed, piercing the ground making it clear that they were quite sharp, though there was no impact, since the petals sank into the ground, cracks appeared on the vicinity and a curtain of dust was raised the next second.
However, there was no trace of blood nor of the enemy, which made it obvious that she had managed to dodge Cassy's surprise attack, on the other hand the light green haired girl had proven that she wasn't just going to take a passive position in the fight, at all.
"Hmph", with a soft snort Cassy looked at the east where she just got a reaction from her mana sense, to then rush in that direction.
The poison user woman who had appeared behind a rock in the same direction, gritted her teeth.
'That damn bitch is crazy!', she cursed to her insides, earlier she saw Cassy directly passing through the ongoing energy explosion that should have stopped her from catching up to her.
Cassy actually used the enhanced defense that she got due to being a rook piece, for offense purposes, in this case to not be forced to stop her chase for even a second.
'I can't let her take the lead, she was supposed to be a damn control focused mage but her attacks are too freaking heavy, to think she forced me to use "Toxic Escape" so early…', she thought as she began to move after catching her breath.
Earlier when Cassy came out of the ongoing energy clash, the poison user nethereal directly used a movement spell, one that's not designed for continuous speed boosting but for instant escape purposes, that allowed her to come out unscathed, but naturally it came with the price of putting a strain in the user's body, she could only use it two times in a week, unless she wanted to have the mana circuits on her legs, rupture on the spot.
'Once I return, I'll poison that turtle bastard', thought the poison user woman to then yell at Cassy who was once again chasing after her.
"You really seemed to enjoy attacking me, you crazy bitch, let's see you having the time for that now!", dark green nether exploded out of the nethereal woman body, since she learned that Cassy had really strong offensive spells, she decided to add not giving her the time to cast them, to the list, alongside tiring her out by moving all over the battlefield.
"Battleground Scorpion Pierce!", the nether she gathered turned into a green stream that then took the form of a scorpion, which rushed through the air towards Cassy while snapping its pincers, following the directions given by the poison user nethereal.
The natural reaction from Cassy was clad her green jade sword with mana to then slash at the pincers of the poison nether scorpion, but then while she did so, her danger alarm rang as the scorpion thrusted its tail at her.
"Clang!", the sound of metals colliding echoed through the sky as a barrage of flying knives came out of the scorpion's tail, forcing Cassy to dodge some while she blocked others with her sword, giving the poison nether scorpion the change to force her to retreat before the spell ran out of energy.
But it was enough time for the enemy to have her next movement ready, this time the amount of nether was almost twice the previous, resulting in a giant wave of poison raising behind of her, it was around the same size of the poison tsunami she used earlier, but there was one more step added to the process.
"Battleground Snake Torrent!", which was the poison wave taking the form of a snake, that undulated at Cassy with its snout open, since the poison had gathered to form the snake, instead of expanding to the sides, it became larger, reaching a towering size of more than a hundred meters.
"Hssss!", naturally it wasn't a real snake nor did the spell had conscious it was just imitating one, as that was the function of the spell, so the previous sound wasn't it hissing at Cassy, but the sizzling sound it produced when it entered in contact with the ground, causing toxic fumes to spread all over the vicinity, ultimately covering more terrain than the tsunami from earlier.
Faced with the giant snake, Cassy's body glowed in a light blue light, she raised her green jade sword and drew a circle on the air with it.
"Demon Subduing Wood Sword, Sealing Bowl", unlike her previously fierce voice tone which was followed by even fiercer attack spells, this time her tone was gentle and calm and the mana that poured out of her was similar.
The result was that a giant ethereal wood bowl manifested in front of her, blocking the incoming poison snake which continued to try and advance, ultimately pouring all the green poison of which it was composed into the bowl that then produced a lid to trap the snake.

Naturally it's not like the enemy stupidly made the snake dive into the bowl, but the moment they clashed she basically lost control over her spell and the poison was dragged into the bowl.
"Crack!", that being said, a smirk appeared on the poison nethereal woman as she saw cracks appear on the surface of the ethereal wood bow created by Cassy to contain her attack.
"Booom!", like before, there was a violent explosion due to the clash of their energies, but this time the nethereal woman had learned her lesson and accelerated to get far enough to not be affected by the shockwave, at the same time Cassy directly charged into the explosion without a second of hesitation, she couldn't have the enemy getting too far from her after all.
However, unlike before, when she came out of the energy explosion, there were some slight shallow wounds at random parts of the light green haired girl's skin, mostly at her arms, there wasn't any blood, but the fact that her enhanced rook piece defense trait alongside the layer of mana that was covering her, couldn't completely block the impact for her, was noticeable.
And that was enough for the poison nethereal, since for her it meant that the enemy's mana reserves had started to deplete which was her half of the battle for her, feeling the contempt coming from the enemy, Cassy raised an eyebrow as she said.
"That prideful expression doesn't suit someone that is putting so much effort into keeping distance from me, not to mention that you couldn't even block my Blossoming Rain and miserably ran away using an escape type spell".
The previous happy mood of the poison user nethereal woman soured on the spot, she is an assassin, her fighting style is not meant to block the opponent's attacks, but to deal massive damage to them, the fact that she had the capacity to do so at both close and long distance, already made her outstand.
It was enough for her become a part of the special operation unit and yet she was being looked down by the enemy and the worst part is that she couldn't deny her claims, since she was indeed trying to keep her distance and win by attrition, something that didn't suit an assassin like her.
"So what, I dare you to keep using those large scale attack spells of yours!", she roared in a try to hide her embarrassment, to then throw her flying knives at Cassy, which found strange that she did so in the open, knowing that she could easily block them with her green jade sword.
However, the answer to the previous came the very second Cassy did exactly that, the knives which were destroyed due to the strong impact caused by the green jade sword, released a small sized green pill each.
"Poison Explosion!", since the poison nethereal woman didn't have to create the poison she was using, her casting time and the amount of mana she needed to use, was drastically reduced.
In other words, her attack was too fast for Cassy to dodge or even block with her sword, so she had to rely on radiating a large amount of mana to protect herself from the poison.
"Hssss!", the poison didn't get to touch Cassy's skin, but it corroded a large part of the mana layer that protected her,
But right now, she had no time to care about that, since she caught a glimpse of the nethereal woman breaking a decoration on the chest area of her clothes, which caused an ominous black colored nether which then gained a green toned border when she manipulated it.
Legion Reinforcement, Green Prison!", similar to what the bishop and the darkness affinity guy did, she used that medal thing to gain time in order to enter her strongest state, however instead of using a barrier to envelop herself, the spell she used was casted… on Cassy.
'Those idiots waited too long to reach the peak of their power, as if I'll wait until the last second knowing that the enemy can match up to me', she thought.
Naturally, the idea wasn't to protect the light green haired girl, but to restrain her as the giant poison cage that trapped her suggested, unlike he nether of the poison user woman, Cassy was really affected by this one, which made sense considering it was nether from a Lord.
"Let's see you come out of that unscathed!", shouted the poison user woman to then close her eyes and gather nether to enter the state in which she should be able to finish the enemy off with ease.
Cassy who was trapped inside the giant poison cage frowned as she saw her mana protection fading away as soon as she replenished it.
The aura around the light green haired became fierce once again, she radiated a huge amount of mana to push away all the poisonous nether that was surrounding her in every direction within the cave.
Her eyes glowed in a green light as her which absorbed all the mana she had released was pointed frontwards to then be swung downwards vertically.
"Demon Subduing Wood Sword, Purifying Altar",
The eyes of the poison user woman opened just in time for her to see a bright green light shine from within the poison cage.
"Boooom!", under the disbelief of the poison user nethereal, the poison cage was blasted away from the inside which was the most solid, what emerged from it was a giant wood altar with two levels, a flat one on the base and a round one above it, as magnificent as it looked, it didn't last long.
After driving away all the nether that conformed the poison cage, the ethereal wood altar turned into light green mana particles that then dispersed to reveal a Cassy who was softly gasping for air, the green glow in her eyes diminished quite a bit, and she had a few cuts on the backside her right hand with which she wielded her sword, not to mention some poison nether had stuck to her wounds.
"As I thought, you were actually able to blast away a spell casted with the nether of the Lord, but it still fulfilled its role, I'm at my strongest while you are at your weakest point, let's not waste any time and get rid of you before anything else happens", said the poison nethereal while she inwardly sent a message to Erika.
'Don't let the masked guy interfere', she directly said, the enemy queen had informed her remaining subordinates about Daimon casually entering the battlefields as if it was normal, so she was worried her enemy will be saved at the last second.
"My weakest…", mumbled Cassy as she saw the enemy charge at her to then say.
"It's a shame for you that I'm used to deal with a stronger poison affinity user and an even more annoying person than you".
'Oh?', high into the sky, Daimon couldn't help but show interest on Cassy, since he saw a pretty rhomboidal light green mark appear on Cassy's forehead.
Then her vigor which had hit rock bottom after she used almost all her mana to get out of the poison cage, instantly shot through the roof.
'That is… a lineage ability', he thought.
The average natives of the Elemental Sea were unable to use even the most basic spells of other affinities than the one they had affinity with, in exchange their affinities are innately stronger than their peers.
Besides that, the natives of the Elemental Sea are basically the same as humans from the four galaxies, so that was probably a change that happened because generation after generation lived in the different areas of the Elemental Sea where the elemental mana is separated, creating paradises for the different affinity people.
With time those who outstood among the rest, ended up creating lineages that further increased their talent in the element they had affinity with and that was the origin of the different forces that ruled the Elemental Sea, with the exception of a few special cases like the royal lineage from the Light Palace, since they already had the lineage of their founder who came from another place, in other words Freya's first user.
Not to mention the the changes produced after Joanna's Ivory lineage mixed with the one from the sister of Freya's first user, anyway, Daimon already suspected that Cassy, or more accurately the royal lineage of the Bamboo Forest sect, was similar.
Because the entrance to Kerrol was in their territory, and while they of course had nothing to do with the Ghouls nor there, the fact that the entrance was placed there, meant that the space boundary in the territory of the Bamboo Forest sect was thinner than at other parts of the Elemental Sea, so it wouldn't be too far fetched to believe that people from other galaxies had ended stranded there back then.
'I guess there is a new subject to discuss with Joanna', thought Daimon as he felt the clear signs of a strong lineage coming from Cassy, amusingly enough she reinforced her bloodline, just like it happened to Chris.
Daimon didn't know whether he should laugh or cry, whatever that mother of his did to motivate all those girls, it ended up being incredibly effective.
Back at the battlefield, having a bad premonition, the poison user woman further accelerated but being a few meters away from her target, she suddenly felt as if a mountain had fallen on her.
"Booom!", the body of the poison nethereal was smacked against the ground, just in time for her to hear Cassy's calm and gentle voice.
"East Suppression Gate".
