Chapter 58: A different healer.

**Baaam!**

Hina’s fist connected with the man’s face.

The impact sent him flying until he crashed into the walls of the arena.

Silence enveloped the entire place, with the soldiers all carrying the same shocked expression.

How could a girl such as the one standing before them have made such a powerful attack?

It was nearly hard to believe.

Right in the center of the arena stood Hina, her gaze fixed on the growing dust, her eyes still carrying the same rage-filled green glow.

"Interesting..." Count Velmo said to himself as he observed the scene. "Very interesting..."

And though Alaric noticed this, he still maintained a calm facade, showing little to no reaction.

’Since when was Hina this strong? Did Lord Alaric...’ Ava looked at her master. ’Well, I wouldn’t be surprised if he did. He does whatever he wants these days. As long as she’s safe, I guess he’s willing to do anything.’

Suddenly—

"Arrrrrgh!"

The man who moments before had been sent flying from a punch began to walk out of the growing dust.

"You bitch!" he yelled, reaching to the ground to pick up his giant blade before placing it on his shoulder as he walked.

"I’ll fucking kill you!"

Hina didn’t back down. Like a dog trained to attack after seeing an enemy, she didn’t waste a single second before she charged forward.

But this time, the man was more than ready.

Gripping the hilt of his blade, he grinned. "That’s not happening again!"

All it took was a single swing of his blade to send Hina flying just as she had sent him.

Her body tumbled on the ground continually, making a final impact with a booming sound.

Laughter rippled across the lips of the soldiers watching, signifying their happiness and support for one of their own.

A small smile formed on Velmo’s lips, but that was moments before he stole a glance at Alaric.

Calm and still collected.

For a guy whose life hung on the results of the battle, he was suspiciously calm about it.

*(Master, give us the order, and we’ll step in there.)*

Laura spoke directly into her master’s mind.

’No, do not interfere,’ Alaric replied. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

*(But Master.)*

’Let it be! She can handle herself. I have no doubt about it.’

Alaric’s voice held so much confidence.

They found it confusing as to why their master would hold so much belief that Hina, a healer, would be able to win against a powerful warrior.

Was he simply stalling for something else to take place?

From within the smoke, Hina walked out, her injuries healing with every step she took.

"You actually survived that? I’m actually shocked," the man grinned. "You’re tougher than you look."

Hina simply stood there, panting heavily until all her visible injuries were healed.

Her opponent was strong; she could very much tell that. But then again, for some reason, he looked weaker than she was.

Hina wasn’t quite sure why that was, but she was more than certain she would be able to beat him to a pulp.

Clenching her fists, she took a quick glance at the audience seats and noticed Alaric was looking directly at her.

At first, he had a normal expression. Then, out of nowhere, he stuck out his tongue in a crazy manner and clearly sliced his thumb across his neck before pointing at her opponent.

"Murder him," he whispered.

Hina smiled. Alaric was just the right amount of ego boost she needed.

Turning her attention back to the man, she maintained her smile as she walked slowly toward him.

"Oh? You’re getting bold now? Seems I haven’t gone far enough. This time, rather than breaking your bones, I’ll slice you open!!!" the man yelled.

Hina gradually increased her speed the closer she got.

Seeing her charging towards him, the man held his giant blade to the side, calmly waiting for her to reach him so he could pull the same move he did a while back.

Something different happened.

Rather than charging directly at him head-on, Hina had multiple magical threads spread out from her back and dig into different areas of the stadium.

Though the man was not worried about it, he had his eyes on the prize and wasn’t planning to lose it for any reason.

As soon as Hina was within striking range, he raised his blade and once again slashed at her. Rather than using the flat side of his blade like he did earlier, he switched the way he held it and used the sharp edge.

The blade sliced through Hina’s ribs and continued its momentum with a swift movement.

Everyone stood up from their seats and cheered. An attack like that was point-blank; there was no way she could have—

"Surprised?"

The entire place went quiet once again.

Hina was supposed to have been sliced in half. The man knew this more than anyone—he made the attack.

But looking down at her guts, the only thing that was damaged from the powerful slash he delivered was her clothes.

The skill **Life Bond**: a powerful skill that allows its host to continuously suck out energy from everything around them and convert it into healing mana to use at a rapid rate.

While healers were known to be a support class, there are those who push past the limits set for them and advance into an attack class.

Using mana as a means to not only enhance their physical abilities but also continuously multiply their mana against themselves to create healing mana.

When this technique is learned, healers are able to temporarily enter a state of total focus—the **Zone**—a period when all their cells resonate with the healing mana within them, turning them into both an attacking beast and a healing monster.

**Baam!**

Hina held the man’s hand, a smile on her face as she began to squeeze his hand.

The man was shocked. He tried raising his other hand, but Hina held him down too, now squeezing both hands.

The next thing that came out was a painful scream.

"Ahhhhhhhhhh!"

He screamed. Every bone in his hands had been crushed in a matter of minutes.

Hina pushed him back, allowing him to scream to his heart’s content as he fell to his knees.

This caused concern to spread across the faces of the audience.

Velmo had begun to tap his finger on the armrest, his feet also dancing with impatience.

Throughout history, there had only been one healer strong enough to hold his own in a battle. He was known to be one of the seven great heroes who appeared a few hundred years back.

Since then, not a single healer had been heard of who could stand up against a warrior, not to speak of one who had attained the platinum rank.

"How is... this possible?! You’re... ackk! You’re just a healer! You’re not supposed to be this strong!" the man yelled, looking up at Hina.

"Oh, you’re definitely right. But you say it like I should care... If you beg and kiss my Lord’s foot, I might just spare you," said Hina, her hand now resting on the man’s forehead.

The man looked at Alaric, who immediately smiled and wiggled his finger back at him.

Aggravated at the thought of a soldier such as himself being reduced to someone getting beaten by a girl, the man gritted his teeth and turned his focus back to the girl.

"To hell with you! I’d rather die than—"

Just as he was about to retaliate, a green light shone under Hina’s touch, sucking up the energy inside his body gradually.

After a while, the effect began to show on him. His skin got wrinkled, and his eyes popped out. Everyone who watched could only describe it as one thing.

"A corpse."

And they were right. The moment Hina let go, the man’s body dropped to the ground, with no signs of even getting up.

It was then the people realized.

Hina had won the battle.

Not a single person could cheer, their faces hitched with anger, shame, and some utter disappointment.

Count Velmo was the latter.

**Pa! Pa! Pa!**

Alaric was the first to clap.

And Ava, Laura, and Aurora followed, clapping in such a way that it almost felt as if they were mocking Velmo.

"I guess I won. The question now is, do you plan to keep to your word, Count Velmo?"

Right after Alaric said those words, Sami instantly pointed a blade at him. Not even a few seconds later, Ava pointed her blade at Velmo, and Laura had multiple blades circling Sami.

Seeing this, the knights who were standing guard around the stadium began to pull out their blades to defend their lord.

Until...

"Ahahahaah!" Velmo laughed. "Pointing your blade at a count is very stupid, yet I don’t seem annoyed by it. Hahahah, interesting, very interesting."

He now looked at Alaric. "I can tell you and I are going to have a lot of fun together. What do you say? What if I appoint you to be my general?"
