Chapter 57: Sudden evolution.

"My lord, a fresh wine from the eastern state. It is said to be one of the best of this era. I have sent the guards to fetch it for you."

The woman dressed in a traditional robe spoke. She was known as the Count’s royal advisor. She was not only smart but also known for her deep loyalty to the king and Velmo.

"You always seem to know when and how I need things. Whatever will I do without you?" Velmo spoke as he gently settled on the bed, allowing the soft foam to absorb his body before he gave out a small, relieved sigh.

"Why does this feel so different on my back?" he asked.

"I had them ship in a new brand. I thought you’d like it. Would you prefer I pick something a bit softer or harder?" the woman asked.

"Sami, you worry too much. This is just perfect," Velmo responded.

"I’m glad to be of service."

"Oh, by the way..." Velmo opened his eyes. "What do you think about what happened today? If you were in my position, would you have done things differently?"

"Are you perhaps referring to the guests you brought in?" she asked to confirm.

"Yes."

"I do believe you did that for a good reason. And as such, I think I would have done the same thing—not that I could ever have handled it like you. You are far superior."

"You say the things I want to hear. Hahaha, very good." Velmo raised his hand slightly. "Make an announcement. People are to show up for the event. It would be no fun without a crowd to entertain."

"Alright, please leave it to me." She bowed her head before walking out of the room.

Velmo was still on the bed, his eyes fixed on the ceiling above him.

With a small smirk, he remembered Alaric’s face—the face of a man who held no fear of whatever scenario was going to occur.

"Such an interesting man..." Velmo uttered with a smile. "And those two girls with him—they don’t look like regular people from this world. Spirits maybe? Oh~, there are so many things for me to do here, and I can’t get enough of it."

Baam!

He sat upright, his grin widening.

"Tomorrow determines if my excitement is not being misdirected. I wonder what you’ll do, Alaric Montclair."

---

Meanwhile, inside the room Alaric was given to spend the night with his subordinates, luckily for them, the room was big, with three beds wide enough to contain three people.

While they were all asleep on the beds, Alaric was thinking of a way Hina could dominate the match tomorrow.

There was no doubt, even if Velmo picked his most wicked warrior to fight for him, Hina would still not be able to win.

Hina, being a healer class, wasn’t built for combat.

’Carrier. Bring out Hina’s card.’

[Request confirmed.]

And the skills went on and on.

Alaric stared at the screen for a while until he noticed the glowing light behind him.

Hina, still asleep, had begun to undergo her evolution.

Her body grew even sexier and more mature, with her hips and breasts increasing in size. Her black hair also grew longer. In conclusion, she looked like a different person—more beautiful and even more attractive.

A small smile formed on Alaric’s lips.

’I hope I was able to help you at least. Give ’em hell tomorrow.’

---

The day arrived.

Count Velmo had already found himself a seat at the knight’s training ground, which was now being used as a stadium for the battle.

Since it was square with just the right amount of seats, everyone could see the angles and corners of the field.

Meaning, even if the fighters were to hide behind something, it would still be possible to track them down.

Standing at the very top of the stadium were the knights, each holding a woman. They were there to make sure no one stepped out of line—that included the fighters too.

The left and right sides were being accommodated by other soldiers who came to watch, while the middle held Count Velmo and his guests.

Alaric sat beside Velmo, while his people were behind him. Velmo did the same, with his people taking his side.

A game of kings.

"And here I thought you’d be a bit nervous. You look confident. Do you underestimate me that much?" Velmo began.

"Oh no, Lord Velmo, perhaps you shouldn’t underestimate me," Alaric spoke back with a smile on his face.

For some reason, Velmo found it unsettling.

"Has anyone ever told you that you are incredibly annoying?" Velmo asked.

"I get that compliment every day."

As the two went back and forth, Sami, Velmo’s personal assistant, and Ava both stared at each other’s master.

A look that held the need to protect. They were more than willing to kill the other if they stepped out of bounds.

Suddenly—

"Let the battle begin!" Velmo announced to the crowd.

It was immediately followed by powerful roars from the soldiers watching.

They were more than ready to watch a free fight.

Gbaam!

One of the gates opened up.

A man dressed in a warrior-like outfit stepped out, dragging a giant blade on the ground as he moved.

Upon his arrival at the stadium, everyone went quiet, as if they had seen a ghost.

Alaric himself could tell he was a powerful person.

’Velmo really didn’t hold back...’ he said to himself with a nervous chuckle. ’Profile.’

[Name: Loka Tyabo]

[Occupation: Second commander]

[Special skill: Endurance]

[Rank: Platinum rank warrior]

[Relationship: 0%]

’Hopefully, Hina doesn’t lose footing before the battle begins.’

The second gate opened.

With slow and steady steps, Hina walked out of the small hole, nervous and scared as she kept scanning the faces of the soldiers watching her.

And she wasn’t just imagining it—they were all staring, like she was a sheep walking directly into the midst of wolves.

After waking up from her sleep to see that her dress no longer fit, she had to wear one of the maid outfits that was available, and even then, it barely fit.

Not only was it short, but it was so tight it felt like her boobs were going to burst out.

’I feel so exposed!’ she uttered to herself as she walked into the arena.

Staring at her for a while, Hina’s opponent suddenly laughed.

"Hahaha! Is this some kind of joke? I’m supposed to battle with a prostitute?"

"Pro—what?! I am not a prostitute, you jerk!" Hina yelled.

"Who in their right senses dresses like this to a fight? You’re a girl. It’s bad enough you even think you can fight."

"I was told to fight! And shut up!"

At this point, Hina’s face was already beet red from the embarrassment.

"Chose? Oh, you mean by your master? A useless master for a useless slave. It’s no wonder he isn’t known in Verdenis. I bet he never had to work for anything in his life. Why else would he need to borrow money from my lord?"

Hina’s face had turned stiff, her eyes getting darker as the man kept talking.

"What did you say about my master?" she uttered under her breath.

"Uhn? You didn’t hear me? Tsk! You’re deaf too? Typical. I said your master is useless! He has no use for Lord Velmo. Gonna cry now? Hahaha!"

The people sitting in the arena could see the man’s lips moving but couldn’t tell what they were discussing.

Well, except Laura and Aurora, who already had raging expressions on their faces.

"I’ll kill you."

The man raised a brow. "What was that?"

"I said I’ll fuckin’ kill you!"

Baam!

Suddenly, green aura began to cover Hina’s body as she charged forward.

This left a huge hole in the ground behind her.

In less than a few seconds, Hina had arrived in front of the man, her fist clenched with her eyes glowing a green hue.

The man in question was so scared, his eyes widened as he tried to pick his blade up and deflect the attack before it connected to his face.

But then—

Boom!
