Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 295: March
Chapter 295: Chapter 295: March
Condra was high up and Sherone could see him. Condra, however, had the advantage of incredible eyesight and could see Sherone clearly.
Looking at the eagles that were flying in the sky, Sherone and the others who were smart enough to think for themselves realized that they were being watched.
"Sherone, we are being watched," One of the leaders, a red-striped zebra said.
"I know," Sherone said as he brought his head down and focused on the path ahead.
"It might be related to those things coming from far away," Another zebra said.
Sherone didn’t say anything, rather he was trying to estimate Condra’s strength in his mind. Condra was too far away for him to be able to judge effectively so he did not know whether his estimates were right or wrong, he would have to hope that Condra or any other eagle came down close enough for them to measure their strength.
Meanwhile, Condra, who was high in the sky, could measure Sherone’s strength without much effort.
He was already used to judging creatures by their auras and other physical traits from a long distance.
From his own observation, he could see that Sherone was not much different from a tier 3 lion in terms of power level.
The scars that could be seen on his body indicated that this particular zebra had seen and survived a lot of battles.
This was a zebra with experience.
Condra circled the herd from above, paying attention to all the most powerful males.
Zebras were polygamous by nature, just like the lions. They lived in a family setting called a harem with one male as the leader and multiple females and some offspring.
Multiple of these family settings were what usually came together to form herds. This was why a single herd could easily have multiple powerful males at once.
After communicating with the rest of his eagle squads, Condra left, escorted by two other low-rank eagles. fгeewёbnoѵel_cσm
He flew back to the kingdom’s forces that were slowly getting closer to the zebra herd.
Compared to the Zebra herd that had about two thousand zebras, the beastly army of the kingdom was much larger with more than six thousand prepared fighters on their side.
Not to mention that many of them were already equivalent to tier 3 lions. Out of the one thousand two hundred creatures that had evolved under the watch of Iane and Zabita, seven hundred of them were participating in this campaign.
And that were just those that Diane and Zabita had been involved with there were still others. In total, there were close to eight hundred creatures equivalent to tier 3 lions.
A hundred of these powerful creatures were already enough to deal with the zebra herd ahead, especially now that they would not just be fighting barbarically but with strategy and common sense in their minds.
"Your Majesty," Condra closed in on Kael and Priya. The two eagle escorts flew away, not being bold enough to actually hover in the presence of the king.
"Speak," Kael did not stop walking.
"Your Majesty, there’s about ten zebras of considerable power at the same level as me. I have also located their leader, he is currently leading the whole herd on their march.
I have also seen the elderlies and the young, those that are weak and those who look strong.
What should we do, Your Majesty?"
Priya looked to Kael, waiting for him to make a decision.
"Continue as planned," Kael stated, "We shall increase our marching speed, this will apply pressure on the zebra herd to move faster.
We shall slowly tire them out. Of course, some will be left behind early on, most likely the weaklings among the herd.
We know what to do with those ones..."
Condra flew away from Kael; he didn’t go back to his eagle scouts immediately. Rather, he went to Bibi’s current second-in-command who was participating in this campaign.
Bibi couldn’t come even though he actually wanted to. Priya had advised him to work on increasing his strength before participating in any other battle. Priya had also asked him to start spreading his seed to the female wolves of his choosing.
This was just insurance. Commander Bibi was one of Kael’s long-term investments and was also very loyal and competent. Kael wished for Commander Bibi to get stronger, if not, he would be forced to replace him with someone who may not be that loyal but is stronger.
Wolves also respected strength among themselves. It would be hard for them to listen to Bibi if another wolf took over as the strongest wolf around. As of now, there were many wolves popping up who were at the tier 3 level, putting Commander Bibi’s position in jeopardy.
Even if the lion royalty wanted him to remain as the caste leader, the wolves would not like it and it would breed resentment. It was a perfect formula for rebellion.
No one could say for sure that Commander Bibi would succeed, so Priya also asked him to start mating with the powerful female wolves around. As the caste leader, many female wolves wished to be his consort and many had already gotten that status.
All Bibi had to do now was increase his power level and spread his genes.
Now, since Bibi could not participate in this campaign, his second in command, a tier 3 wolf, was representing him and leading the wolves here.
After Condra spoke to him and gave him Kael’s orders, he moved to the next beastly personnel, Vixy’s second in command.
Vixy could obviously not afford to be anywhere at this moment because of Kael’s punishment. She too had to send her second in command to stand in for her, even if she was serving punishment, she didn’t forget that these kinds of campaigns came with a lot of opportunities to create wealth.
With Harath and his pigs not allowed to participate in the campaign, there would be peace.
Ares, the leader of the Goat Caste, and Kursela, Kurse’s mother were here too. Ares seriously had nothing better to do and was still trying to prove his usefulness to the lion royalty.
He knew this position as cas leader was not yet cemented, especially with new high-level goats popping out all over the place. Some had already challenged him for the right to be a Caste leader already.
Ares had to participate in this campaign to make sure he showed his usefulness while looking for an opportunity to get stronger.
Kursela on the other hand, was just here to serve as a figurehead. She had no true control or authority over the bears, Kael and her son had made sure of that.
If not for this campaign, they wouldn’t have given her any position that gave her a high status. They just happened to need someone to give orders to the bears.
After Condra told Kursela about Kael’s orders, Kursela could not help but smile with a melancholic look in her eyes.
Not far from her position, a tier 3 Bear Enforcer was acting as her ’bodyguard’.
Kurse had specifically asked for some enforcers to watch over his mother and make sure she didn’t do anything that would tarnish the holy relationship between the bears and the lions. That was exactly how he put it, the Holy Relationship.
Kursela had originally found it hard to believe that her own son who she had once protected from Kael would turn against her.
Kurse no longer saw her as his mother but as a necessary element in the myth he was trying to create. She was the virgin mother to his messiah story, she had to exist for him to increase his relevance...for now.
From a knowledgeable outsider’s perspective, the bear caste was slowly turning into a theocratic society that worshiped the lion royalties.
Kurse had even begun to claim that the bears were the creations of the ancient lions. There was absolutely no evidence to this claim and because of that, it could not be verified or falsified.
The religion was blooming, just a few more touches and it would be perfect and self-sustaining.
Since all Kurse was doing was indirectly benefiting the lions, they weren’t going to complain about it. Kurse even had a good relationship with other pride leaders and many of them had sent gifts to him as encouragement for the doctrine he was building.
With no choice but to comply, Kursela told the enforcer and other bears around her about Kael’s orders.
All the leaders involved had Kael’s orders delivered to them, only then did Condra rise into the sky and fly back to his eagle squads above the zebra herd.
Zabita, Diane, Ruda, and Eidel, who were all mixed in with the horde were told what was happening too.
Soon after Condra left, the whole beastly army began to move faster than before. Their previous Primordial casual walk turned into a slow jog or fast walk.
Like a monstrous machine, spirit links began to be established among the ranks of the beastly army as they all moved as one entity.
The land of the formerly peaceful wild plains began to tremble.
