Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 292: Shit Tests
Chapter 292: Chapter 292: Shit Tests
Two days after Katari’s spar with Diane and Zabita.
At the border region between the forest and the wild plains.
A grey-furred lioness casually walked past the sparse trees with a grace and elegance that didn’t match the savage atmosphere of her surroundings.
Her eyes, a deep mix of black and grey gazed upon the land beyond the sparse trees, watching as the morning sun cast a loving and warm glow on the soil.
This was Priya, and she was now standing more than two meters tall in her lioness form. For a lioness who was considered quite short among other lions, this new height was very...impressive.
Priya walked to the edge of the border and sat down calmly. Behind her was the forest and in front of her was the wild plains.
Looking at the distant horizon and the uneven land surface, a lot of memories came flooding in.
She closed her eyes, reminiscing about the past. Her life would have been that of an ordinary lioness if Kael had not been born.
She would have been as ignorant as the other ordinary lionesses in this world.
*Sigh!*
The last time she was in the wild plains, she had been a mere tier 2 spirit lioness. Now, she was a tier 4 Spirit Lioness.
Yes, Priya was now a tier 4 Spirit Lioness. She had finished her evolution yesterday, just in time to join the kingdom for the new operation to sweep the wild plains.
Compared to evolution into a tier 3 lioness or equivalent, evolving to tier 4 was much harder. But tier 3 evolution took longer, usually taking a month for the process to be completed.
Priya didn’t know why this was so and she honestly didn’t care. If they had to wait a couple of months anytime someone wanted to evolve to the next tier, nothing would ever get done.
Priya’s spirit sense was spread out, covering a ten-kilometer radius around her. Her spirit radar was wide-ranged but it got less sensitive the further it stretched.
However, the current range of her spirit sense was enough. Even with her eyes closed, she could still see everything.
Above her head, two winged creatures fly in circles, clearly keeping their eyes on her.
One of them was the leader of the Eagle Caste, Condra. The other bird was a flaming owl, the leader of the Owl caste.
The two of them were slightly above the power level of a tier 3 lion but not close to a tier 4.
Among the ranks of the lion regime, tier 3 equivalents were no longer rare. The bird castes had a few of them.
It couldn’t be helped that the case leaders couldn’t keep up in terms of power level. It got harder and harder to reach the next level.
Most of the current leaders have been becoming paranoid, afraid that the king might replace them with someone more powerful.
If not for Priya taking drastic measures, the caste leaders would have eliminated anyone who seemed promising in their castes. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
The lion royalty was also backing the caste leaders despite their power levels, so they had nothing to worry about...for now.
Heaven help any caste if anyone successfully evolves to possess power greater than their caste leader.
"Condra, Hector, send out your scouts," Priya commanded the caste leaders above her.
Condra and Hector then released clear cries.
Soon, the rapid flapping of wings reached their ears. Many birds, eagles, and owls that had been perched on the trees flew into the sky.
The birds flew above past their caste leaders and rushed into the open air of the wolf plains, spreading out and covering a lot of distance in a short amount of time.
The ground began to tremble as different creatures ran from the depths of the forest toward Priya. No, they weren’t running toward Priya, they were running toward the wild plains.
Foxes, wolves, bears, goats, snakes, they all rushed forth with different expressions and moods. Some were not too excited to be challenging the creatures of the wild plains at this time but not all of them were excited about it.
After all, it had been established that the fastest way to grow stronger was through these campaigns. So many resources to be gained, they weren’t willing to let them go.
Sure, they were scared of death but greed had a way of making people do things like this.
Priya had been working on a new rule that stated that no one was to ever run away from a fight that had been sponsored by the lion royalty. Dissertation was considered treason against the lion royalty and the punishment for such was instant death.
With incentives placed in front of them and likely death placed behind them, the beastly army moved like moths rushing toward fire.
Priya was getting the hand of his carrot and stick technique Kael had spoken of.
The beastly army rushed past Priya who just sat there silently, ignoring the trembling ground.
Her senses picked up their movements, analyzing their general thought patterns and occasionally giving subtle suggestions to remove some dangerous thoughts.
She sat there, looking harmless as a feather, but she exerted a soft level of power over the creatures of the kingdom.
"Priya, how are you?" Priya heard a telepathic transmission coming from her back.
Her eyes snapped open, and her mind instantly recognized the owner of the voice.
She turned around to see a three-meter-tall muscular golden lion walking beside her until he sat beside her.
"Kael..." Priya muttered. Kael nodded, acknowledging her greeting.
All the creatures that were running past them made serious efforts to avoid the golden lion and the rey lioness. Both of them were emitting really powerful auras.
"Congratulations on your evolution, when were you going to tell me about it?" Kael asked as he stared at the distant horizon and the numerous creatures that were starting to fill his vision.
Priya sighed, "It was going to be a surprise," She said.
"Well, I’m surprised," Kael said, a joking smile creeping on his face.
"So, how have things been going?" Kael asked.
"You know, you could just find out easily if you wanted to instead of asking me," Priya said. It sounded like something one would say jokingly but Priya didn’t seem to be trying to make a joke here.
"Priya," Kael glanced sideways at Priya, looking at her with a sorry gaze.
"Yes," Priya answered. Feeling the pressure that was slowly mounting on her mind.
"Are you perhaps telling me what to do?" Kael asked. He looked like he was genuinely asking a serious question but was also capable 8f doing something bad if he was given the wrong answer.
"No, I’m not, I was just making a suggestion," Priya said, lowering her head and straightening her posture.
"Good, let me just make it clear that I don’t have the spare energy to be engaging in many of these weird things you plan in your head.
Don’t wake up one random morning and feel like giving me one shit test or the other, I wouldn’t respond the way you think I would respond," Kael said.
As soon as Priya gave him that attitude, he immediately knew what she was trying to do. It was one of those shit tests females give males as a way to test them.
Kael saw it coming a mile away because he had been a victim of it multiple times. It usually starts with unexplained silent treatment or rudeness, with the female expecting the male to ask what’s wrong.
Then it would devolve into pointless insecure questions, ’Would you love me if...’
If Kael wasted his time answering those questions, it would get worse as she would start making strange demands and giving Kael an ultimatum. It would turn into a very serious problem in the relationship.
He had seen it many times in his past life and had experienced it himself. This was the event that would gradually turn a man into a hopeless simp if he was not careful.
Kael wasn’t planning on dealing with that stuff and he wasn’t planning on g
Hearing Kael’s scolding tone, Priya was a bit taken aback. She didn’t expect Kael to respond so harshly.
The funny thing was that she herself had not even noticed what she was about to do. It was almost as if it was in her nature to test Kael like this.
"Sorry..." Priya started. Her expression relaxed and she assumed a submissive mindset again.
She scanned herself and noticed that her mind had altered for a moment. She had been close to having a mentality of pushing Kael to a limit just to see how much he could take.
She had forgotten who was the dominant and who was the submissive one. If she had gone ahead with it and accidentally disrespected Kael, it may have not ended the way her feelings told her it would.
"Just pay attention to your feelings, okay?
Anyways, how are we getting these Zebras today?"
