Chapter 291: Chapter 291: Fighting

Having seen enough, Kael finally gave a telepathic order to Katari, "Wrap it up,"

Katari received the telepathic message and gave a slight nod.

She leaned back all of a sudden, dodging a series of claw attacks and kicks that reached for her head and her belly.

Being able to fly, Katari had the advantage in terms of movement. Diane could not stay in the air and fell back down.

Katari didn’t let her fall completely before slashing down at her viciously. A spatial wave hit Diane on the shoulder, sending her down fast.

The spatial waves enveloped her whole body and she crashed into the ground. A deep crater was formed and kept on expanding as the spatial waves continued hammering on Diane.

Meanwhile, the metal sphere that was defending Zabita from the barrage of spatial blades exploded, shooting pieces of metal in every direction.

All the metal pieces that would have hit Katari stopped mid-air in front of her.

Katari teleported, instantly appearing in front of Zabita. She maintained the spatial waves that threatened to crush Diane while confronting Zabita.

Zabita stared at Katari with vigilance, they were too close for comfort. Zabita’s metal claws had already extended out as she slashed at Katari’s face.

Katari dropped down, intending to deal with Zabita properly. She raised her hand to block Zabita’s claw attack by the wrist.

Another high-speed punch found its way heading to Katari’s face but Katari caught it with ease.

Her hand quivered slightly, Zabita’s bones were made of metal and were quite heavy after all. Using her bare hand to stop the blow was already impressive enough.

Following that, Katari and Zabita responded to each other with high-speed blows and kicks. Both were fast and physically strong, but the difference between both of them was made clear very quickly.

Katari grabbed Zabita’s hand by the wrist and pulled her close, supporting the movement with a spatial wave on Zabita’s back.

Zabita fell forward before having her abdomen repeatedly punched by Katari. Five fatal punches were delivered to Zabita’s belly, causing her to feel like her intestines were turning upside down.

Each punch was enhanced with spatial waves that pulsed into her body and rattled her bones.

Katari released her wrist only for her to block another right hook from Zabita. Grabbing her arm, Katari immediately delivered another series of deadly blows to Zabita’s armpit and elbow.

The sound of metal colliding with a hard object resounded as Zabita felt her whole arm go numb.

Katari then let go of the arm, allowing Zabita to step back. Zabita stared at her arm in shock, she couldn’t feel her hand at all. It just dangled lifelessly beside her.

She looked up to see that Katari was staring at her blankly as if mocking her for her weakness.

With just one arm working, Zabita lunged at Katari again.

Katari’s eyes narrowed as killing intent flashed in her mind again. She had actually been waiting for Zabita to give up.

All the metal pieces were intercepted by her spatial wave and could not get close. Zabita should have realized by now that this was a lost battle.

Katari stepped forward, blocking the approaching metal claws, and followed with an elbow strike to Zabita’s chest.

She stepped on Zabita’s feet, not allowing her to move back, and delivered a devastating punch to Zabita’s side.

Zabita curved but she had already raised her leg for a knee attack. Katari raised her leg, using her calf to casually parry this knee attack.

A palm strike landed on Zabita’s chest, blood dripped from the corner of her black lips.

Katari was becoming faster and her moves were becoming more ruthless.

She caught Zabita’s second arm and delivered another set of powerful attacks that caused serious pain and was followed by numbing sensations.

Now, both of Zabita’s arms were useless. But Katari continued.

She grabbed Zabita’s neck, dragged her closer, and started smashing her knee into Zabita’s abdomen. Each of these knee strikes was powerful and would have sent Zabita flying if not for the fact that Katari was holding her back by stepping on one of her feet.

Zabita began to cough blood, staining Katari’s shoulder with blood. Everything was happening too fast.

Katari reeled back, pulling her head back and coating her forehead with a thin layer of transparent condensed void membrane.

*BAM!*

Katari slammed her head into Zabita’s forehead, sending a shockwave through her body. The ground beneath them cracked.

Katari still had her foot on Zabita’s toes and her left hand held Zabita’s head firmly, she wasn’t letting go.

*BAM!*

Katari delivered another headbutt, momentarily sending Zabita into a state of unconsciousness.

Katari reeled back again, she pulled her arm back and prepared her fist for a punch that was very likely to cave Zabita’s skull in.

She used her other hand to grab the back of Zabita’s hair, holding her in place for the punch. Zabita’s eyes were closed and an ugly bruise had appeared in between her eyebrows.

Katari looked at the defenseless Zabita with a cold expression, then she punched.

...

A firm manly hand held Katari’s wrist, preventing her from following through with the punch.

Zabita looked back to see who was holding her back. She saw a pair of familiar golden eyes staring at her with a frown.

"That’s enough," Kael said. He had stepped in the moment he saw that Katari had stopped holding back.

She could have accidentally killed Zabita just now.

Behind him, Olivia stared at Katari with her mouth wide open. The way Katari had dealt with Zabita, the series of punches and kicks she kept on delivering. Each one was stronger and deadlier than the last.

Kael had seen everything, all her attacks had been aimed at the critical spots that would have killed Zabita outrightly in any other scenario.

Clarity returned to Katari’s as she realized that her instincts had almost taken over.

"I made a mistake, sorry," Katari said as she took back her hand. She realized her mistake.

Most would think Katari had control over herself but they would be severely mistaken. Looking at her face and how she was always calm, one might think she had good control over her emotions, but people like N’bayé and Kael knew that Katari barely had any emotion worth controlling.

It was the same with her actions. Controlling her body to do things like intentionally not killing someone was weird for her. It was like trying to change the trajectory of a bullet after it had been shot.

All the spatial disturbances in the surroundings faded away as Katari recalled her powers.

Over at Diane’s location. Diane stood up and climbed out of the crater, her bones ached and her muscles trembled.

The pressure had increased at the last moment before suddenly disappearing. Although she felt pain all over, she had a satisfied smile on her face.

To be pushed to her limit was what she wanted. So what if Katari wasn’t a good opponent for her, she had gotten the pressure that she needed.

However, her expression froze when she saw Kael carrying Zabita, bridal style. What had happened while she was being crushed?

"Katari, that was amazing!" Diane said excitedly as her body shrank back to her seven-foot-tall form while walking toward them.

Katari simply nodded, not saying anything else.

"You’re improving," Kael complimented with a smile, "Train harder and you’ll soon reach tier 4,"

Diane danced on the balls of her feet, to see such a tall person moving around so childishly was interesting.

"Imagine what I’ll be able to do once I evolve to tier 4," Diane said, wondering out loud.

"Maybe you’ll be able to move mountains and reach the clouds in a single leap," Olivia said, feeling the need to contribute to the conversation.

They walked back to the Iron Blood Pyramid, the spar was over.

"And after that? Tier 5?" Diane asked, her eyes getting heated by the thought of the possibilities.

"Who knows? Maybe you’d be able to cause earthquakes with a single stomp, or run at speeds I’ve never heard of before," Olivia said.

"And...What lies beyond that? Is there more?" Diane asked again.

Olivia kept quiet. Her mind couldn’t comprehend what kind of power that was.

"You’ll grow," Katari said, breaking the silence. Katari contributing to a conversation was unexpected.

But Katari was just remembering the massive paw she had seen come out of that heavenly gate some days back.

That was the paw of a War Lion. The amount of destruction that paw caused with that simple movement surprised her.

If Diane kept on going, would she reach that level of power too?

"I’ll grow?" Diane asked, not understanding.

"Those are bridges that you would cross once you get there. If you don’t get stronger, you won’t experience what having that kind of power feels like," Kael said.

Zabita stirred in his arms, she was awake but pretended to be sleeping. Kael thought of dropping her but soon decided against it. He would let her off this time.

"Oh, tomorrow, we are going to the wild plains. We’ll start conquering there," Diane told Kael just before they entered the Iron Blood Pyramid.
