A/N: So sorry about this. Previous Chapters mentioned orcs, but it was always meant to be ogres. I tend to mix up the names of these two fantastic races, and I’m sorry about that.

Ray swiftly skimmed through the string of words displayed on the screen, then he swiftly brought his attention to the remaining golems in front of him.

Unfortunately for him, he didn’t obtain any other skill from the remaining golems he eliminated.

And so, the battle raged on with fewer horned stags and wolves, but with more goblins and several other creatures, thereby stretching the battle into another two hours of screams, roars, and adrenaline.

Now, the villagers were no longer defending a perimeter because the Northern barricades had mostly been destroyed, and the battle had now become a series of smaller brawls throughout the village.

Fighters were now holding doorways to prevent hungry and desperate hobgoblins from getting in because these hobgoblins needed human sacrifices to feed their ogre king lest they become the meal of their leader instead.

Meanwhile, a few farmers had gathered around a high vantage point to act as archers, working together to bring down creatures that had breached the northern line.

It had turned into a brutal and messy battle, but everyone was determined to play their part if they wanted to be alive the next morning.

On the other hand, Ray was busy farming experience points as he activated his <<Void Step>> ability and swiftly cleared a group of goblins before approaching a Dire Rat, which was roughly around the size of a large dog.

The dire rat had managed to get into the storage building near the village centre, but Ray killed it before it could contaminate the food supplies.

Sadly for him, this particular dire rat didn’t have any skill, so Ray couldn’t absorb anything of value from it.

Moving on, Ray noticed how his mana had dropped tremendously.

Staring from his mana pool, it was extremely low compared to any average level 10 Awakener that he had encountered in his first life.

He didn’t really know why his mana pool was so low, but it had always been that way.

’Maybe it’s because I am a Commoner and not a noble, so the goddess favors them more than us?’ He thought to himself, but he didn’t allow his mind to linger on such thoughts.

Yes, he had encountered a couple of other non-combat awakened commoners in his past, but they had little mana, just like him, while others had lesser mana than his. But Ray really wanted to increase his mana pool in any way necessary, so he wasn’t going to give up on finding a way around this in the future.

*Sigh* He sighed softly.

"Let’s not think about that right now." Ray muttered to himself before delving his hand into his pocket to bring out a necklace.

The necklace was the Moonstone Necklace that he had obtained from the Goblin’s Nest a few weeks ago, but at the time, he couldn’t use it, nor could he view its effect because of how low his level had been. But right after Ray had advanced to Level 10, he realized that he could actually use the necklace now.

However, he didn’t know how long it would last before the necklace lost its effect.

But since that didn’t matter right now, Ray swiftly wore the necklace around his neck.

The Moonstone Necklace glowed instantly, and his depleted mana was refilled to its full capacity.

Well, since he couldn’t have a very high mana pool like the insanely powerful elite warrior party members in his first life, Ray was more than happy to have this necklace, since it served as the perfect tool for refilling his small mana pool before he could find a permanent way to increase it.

And so, he charged into the next wave of monsters that passed through the Northern Line and the Eastern Line.

But Ray encountered giant spiders in the eastern part of the village, along with a pack of hobgoblin warriors.

The spiders were fast, and their venom was dangerous, but Ray instantly killed six of them before absorbing a really cool skill from the largest and fattest one out of the bunch.

As for the hobgoblins, these monsters were organized and smarter in a way that was unlike the other creatures Ray had encountered before now.

In contrast to the other monsters, these tall green-skinned creatures had noticed one very important thing ever since they stepped into the village, and it was that the village currently had two very annoying individuals, and they were the most dangerous and the most stubborn prey who were standing in the way of them pleasing their king. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

One was a horned female with a very deadly spear in her hands, and the other was this annoying geezer standing in front of them.

Wouldn’t it please their king if these two had their bones broken and skull crushed so he could easily feast on them?

The hobgoblins all had the same thought in mind.

They swiftly exchanged a few guttural words in their own language, and they rallied and charged at Ray from every possible angle, giving him little to no chance to escape.

But Ray had no intention of escaping or running, so he faced them head-on, and within seconds, all nine hobgoblins were slashed into two, including a hobgoblin that had a skill, unlike the rest.
