Reborn with Consumption System-Chapter 430 - 208: Battle Royale of Best Actors and Actresses_2
"I’m really just a civilian, so I don’t know whether Xiaozhi is a killer... Well, in that case, should we vote for Fang Xing as Yanyan suggested? Ah, forget it, I don’t know anything. You guys figure it out!"
She was giving up.
Ding Xiang’s unpleasant first-round experience came to an end, and Huang Li, to her right, spoke next.
"Now we can be sure that Ding Xiang must be a civilian. Therefore, Chen Yanfei, who led the killer to target her, should also be a civilian..."
This girl looked ordinary, but she certainly had a good head on her shoulders, truly deserving of her place as a top student admitted to Shanghai International Studies University.
"So, it’s obvious Chen Yanfei’s purpose was to use Ding Xiang to shield the police while also fishing for the killer. The one most likely in a hurry to kill her is Xiaozhi. I suggest we vote out Xiaozhi, Fang Xing, and Chen He, in that order. The police can start their verification with the other boys. That’s all!"
When it was Xiaozhi’s turn to speak, he strongly objected and instead pointed the finger at Huang Li.
But it didn’t matter. The remaining three girls collectively voted for him, immediately followed by two boys. This left six votes undecided.
Among those six votes, besides his own, were Fang Xing, Chen He, Luo Zijun, and two fence-sitters.
When one of the fence-sitters switched sides, the outcome was decided.
Even though Fang Xing and Chen He immediately protested their innocence, the collective votes had already locked onto them.
After three such rounds, Xiaozhi, Fang Xing, and Chen He were eliminated in succession. In the next speaking segment, two individuals openly revealed themselves as police and locked their target on Luo Zijun. This secured victory for the police and civilians.
The first game ended. The revealed cards showed that the three killers were indeed Fang Xing, Xiaozhi, and Luo Zijun.
Even then, Ding Xiang still couldn’t figure out the reasoning, but that didn’t stop her from admiring Chen Yanfei.
"Yanyan, you’re so amazing!"
Chen Yanfei smiled and patted her head. "You did great too! Your acting was so natural it drew the killers’ crucial strike. You deserve half the credit!"
"Ah? Really? Hehe..."
Ding Xiang giggled foolishly, cracking everyone up.
It wasn’t that she had a problem with her IQ; she was just too straightforward and not suited for such convoluted games.
Mo Xiaozhu licked her lips and suddenly praised Han Lie. "God Lie is truly impressive! He was the first one out but still managed to provide such crucial clues..."
Three boys and two girls immediately chimed in.
"Yeah, yeah! I was so confused when I first heard the reasoning, but once Chen Yanfei confirmed it, I got goosebumps all over!"
"You didn’t see the whole picture, did you? God Lie seemed to be joking, but he was actually trying to bait out the killers!"
"Indeed! I noticed Fang Xing’s expression when God Lie was explaining his reasoning. Haha, it was priceless..."
"A pro! God Lie is a true pro!"
"Emmm, playing with you all is really stressful. God of Wealth, please bless me! I hope I’m on the same team as Han Lie next round!"
The students from Shanghai International Studies University all had a solid foundation.
The difference lay in their personalities—some were more pragmatic, while others were rather arrogant.
The arrogant ones naturally wouldn’t fawn over Han Lie, perhaps because their family background gave them confidence, or because they firmly believed they could carve out their own path using their abilities alone.
The pragmatic ones, on the other hand, wanted to use this opportunity to befriend Han Lie, or at the very least, become a familiar face to him.
This was all very normal, just one facet of life’s rich tapestry.
Han Lie continued to employ his social skills. He humbly deflected praise for a moment and then shifted the focus to Chen Yanfei, lavishing her with compliments.
"Our Chen Yanfei is the real powerhouse here! She directly identified two killers and successfully unified the civilians’ opinions. I’m truly impressed. Chen Yanfei, please cover me next round!"
Chen Yanfei laughed openly and made an ’X’ sign with her hands at that rascal.
"Cut it out! Don’t think I’ll forget how you dragged me into this mess just because you’re sweet-talking me now. Just you wait and see if I get a chance to take you out!"
She returned the exact same gesture Han Lie had made to her earlier.
Everyone burst into laughter, and the second game began.
Han Lie drew a killer card. When night fell and he opened his eyes, lo and behold, Chen Yanfei’s beautiful eyes were slightly open, a teasing glint in them as she mouthed, "Bad luck!"
Nonsense! How could it be bad luck if you’re on my team?
As Han Lie turned his head again... he was startled once more.
There was Ding Xiang, her big eyes wide and bright, looking eagerly and expectantly at Han Lie and Chen Yanfei.
Meeting Han Lie’s gaze, she excitedly raised her right palm. "Who are we targeting?!"
Well now, leading the cleverest one and the most clueless one... this round was certainly going to be interesting.
Han Lie nudged his chin towards Chen Yanfei, signaling, "You decide."
She knew her classmates better, so her choice of target would likely be more accurate.
Chen Yanfei quietly pointed her finger at an inconspicuous boy, a most unexpected choice.
"Killers, close your eyes. Police, open your eyes."
Huang Li, Luo Zijun, and Fang Xing opened their eyes simultaneously.
What a coincidence!
Mo Xiaozhu was quite astonished but managed to maintain her composure as she recited the lines.
"Police, please verify someone."
Fang Xing immediately pointed at Chen Yanfei. Luo Zijun instantly pointed at Han Lie. Huang Li, after a moment’s hesitation, followed Luo Zijun, the one she liked.
Mo Xiaozhu raised her right thumb—a killer’s identity confirmed!
Fang Xing couldn’t control his excitement and quietly pumped his fist.
Day broke. The inconspicuous boy was eliminated. Bewildered, he gave his last words.
"What?! Why me? Sigh... I can’t think of who would target me. Forget it, you all carry on!"
They spoke in turn, counterclockwise.
The first two people didn’t have much of substance to say. When it was Luo Zijun’s turn to speak third, he subtly tried to cast suspicion on Han Lie.
