"Okay, Teacher, I’ll head back to rest first. See you tonight," Shangguan You nodded to the group and let Yu Zijin pull her toward Room 408.

Bai Muxue’s eyes crinkled with a faint smile as he watched the two figures depart. There was something about Shangguan You that drew him in, made him want to approach her, talk to her, see her. It was a strange feeling, one he had never experienced before.

Fang Jianfei’s eyes also flashed briefly. He felt exactly the way Bai Muxue did. At first glance, she seemed to be just an ordinary girl, hardly worthy of attention. But in the blink of an eye, her status had changed.

Zhuge Feng watched Shangguan You’s retreating figure, her unique, faint fragrance still lingering in his senses.

Off in the distance, Li Zhaolei was skillfully charming the women around him in the flower garden, clearly enjoying the lively scene.

Yang Xiu deeply admired Yu Zijin. She managed to secure investment with just one phone call, without even showing up in person!

Chen Xu had completely forgotten about the incident that day; he simply couldn’t recall what had happened. He only remembered seeing Shangguan You make a single phone call, and that had been enough to convince him she had secured deals with the six companies she’d mentioned.

He was somewhat looking forward to tonight’s banquet, wondering if the guests they invited would truly show up. In sharp contrast to the low-key demeanor of Shangguan You and Yu Zijin, Minister Li was quite ostentatious.

As the banquet began, representatives from various corporations arrived one after another. Minister Li’s tall, skinny frame flitted among the guests, and his otherwise unremarkable face seemed to brighten a few notches. Several female students, either facing graduation or in their sophomore year, crowded around him.

Minister Li was more popular than flowers at the event tonight, basking in the attention and his own smugness. Shangguan You and Yu Zijin, however, simply smiled nonchalantly. They were not of the same caliber as him and chose not to stoop to his level.

As the evening grew darker, the flow of people in and out of the University’s auditorium increased, with more and more luxury cars pulling up at the entrance. The school’s leaders also gathered inside, forming familiar groups. It was the school’s anniversary, and naturally, the teachers couldn’t be absent.

"Hmph, wasn’t it said that some of the most famous financial conglomerates in the country were invited? How come they’re still not here at this point? It’s easy to talk big, isn’t it?" a sarcastic voice rang out as Minister Li, with a reasonably attractive woman from his department on his arm, sneered at Shangguan You and Yu Zijin.

At the meeting, they had made such bold claims, Minister Li thought. Now, with only ten minutes left, not a single person they promised has arrived. So much for these beauties. They’re just pretty faces who only know how to talk big.

"Heh, Minister Li, whether we’ve made empty promises is none of your business," Yu Zijin said with a cold laugh, glancing dismissively at the so-called "famous" companies Minister Li had invited. "Given the caliber of those ’cats and dogs’ you’ve brought, your swagger is quite amusing. I’m eager to see how you’ll handle the utter humiliation later. They’re nothing but third- or even fourth-rate small businesses. What’s there to be so smug about?"

"Yu Zijin, watch your language! What do you mean ’cats and dogs’? They are well-known companies in Beijing with assets in the millions!" the beautiful woman beside Minister Li hissed, her voice dropping. She knew that while internal discord was one thing, as hosts, it would be a significant loss if these important guests were offended by Yu Zijin’s disparaging remarks and left.

"Yu Zijin, be careful with your words," Minister Li said with an unfriendly tone, clearly intending to watch them fail. "Although these companies can’t compare with the well-known conglomerates you mentioned, they still have some reputation in Beijing. Many of our alumni work there; you can’t just disregard them. When it comes to making grand claims, no one can match you two. Where are the representatives of those big companies you mentioned? Why haven’t they shown up yet?"

"Minister Li, actions speak louder than words," Shangguan You said coolly, ignoring the peacock-like Minister Li. She noticed several familiar figures approaching.

"Hmph, if you don’t have the ability, you don’t have it. Look around, all these guests are the ones I invited," Minister Li said with a sneer, turning to greet the newcomers respectfully.

"Cousin, dear cousins, you’ve finally arrived! I’ve been waiting a long time. Thank you for taking the time to come despite your busy schedules," Minister Li said, releasing the woman by his side to greet the newcomers with flattery.

"Cousin, how could I not give you face? No matter how busy, I had to make time," Li Ruizhe nodded at Minister Li, his tone somewhat haughty. If it weren’t for hearing that Shangguan You was here, he wouldn’t have bothered to come.

"Cousin, dear cousin sisters, please," Minister Li said, a wide smile blooming on his face. He then turned his head to look at Shangguan You and Yu Zijin challengingly.

"Junior sisters, this is the President of Li Group. Their headquarters are abroad. Though not as big as the Ye Family, they are still quite renowned here. I keep my word—if I say I’ll invite them, I do. Not like you two, who only know how to talk big," Minister Li said, pushing his glasses up his nose and looking smugly at the two women at the entrance.

The three people behind Minister Li exchanged glances, their expressions shifting slightly upon hearing his words.
