SEX WITH MY BEST FRIEND'S FIANCÉ-Chapter 260
- HAZEL -
“We’re arriving at my uncle’s soon.” Liam’s voice breaks the silence that occurred all through the drive. “If you ever need anything, be it to leave or someone to hang around for the sake of it, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.” He says, his voice all too serious and calm now.
This makes my brows furrow. “Thank you.” I say.
“I’m serious, Hazel. My connection with my family is not that solid. They may try to make you feel inferior or ask things you don’t wish to answer. In that moment, remember I’m there.” I swallow at his warning, my fingers clutching onto the purse harder now.
I fake a smile. “I will, thank you Liam.” I say. Well, this is not something I hoped to hear before entering a family gathering party. Liam has no idea how much what he said makes my heart clench. So his family may come to me with expectations I am not supposed to accommodate, got it. Although I am more than capable to handle myself, despite my age.
I stick my head to the window and look at the surroundings. The car is driving into what I think is a compound’s driveway. It’s massive. Bigger than the entire plots my modern home occupies along with the extra yard space of my home and this is simply the yard of this place. My eyes widen.
Is everyone in their family wealthy? I suddenly feel poor.
I wonder what they do. I trail my eyes to Liam. I can only see the back of his head but he does not seem surprised. How rich can people actually be to amount such property? And something tells me this may not be the only one they own . This suddenly makes my throat go dry. No wonder I’m clothed in diamonds.
The car comes to a halt and I hear the engine shut down. I swallow, bracing myself. “Wait here for me.” Liam’s voice cooes before he darts out of the car. I undo my seatbelt, holding onto my purse. The car door at my side comes open. Liam’s hand is stretched in front of me. I hold onto his palm as I step out. I reposition my hand in his when I get out of the car completely.
“Dare I say you look divine, Hazel? So damn gorgeous.” This comment makes my cheeks flush. It’s odd getting compliments from Killian’s brother but it sure is entertaining. It’s nice.
“You’re going to make me shy.” I say to him, following him wherever he’s headed.
“Don’t be.” He mutters. “My bet? You’ll be the most good looking woman in there.”
Now he’s going way overboard. “I doubt it.” I giggle.
Liam brings his head closer to mine for a second and I feel my breath hitch. “Don’t underestimate the power of a man who gifts the woman he’s in love with.”
His head immediately shifts back from mine. I don’t know what to say to that. There’s not much to really say. The man in love with me did not even so much as respond to my text. A smile purse on my lips instead as I look forward. We’re nearing a door or this palace before me because referring to this place as a mansion seems illegal. I take a deep breath then slowly let out an exhale. Here goes nothing.
The scent that fills my nose the moment the door opens screams extravagance. Outside has its own polished scent but indoors is another kind of wealth. It is spelled everywhere. On the walls. The doors. The mature party decorations and the entire interior of this place. The people. Even the chatter sounds rich. The laughter sounds like the kind a newborn would hear and smile because they know they will have it good in life.
I let out a sigh, my stomach forming a knot. I won’t say I’m nervous but I can definitely see the class of adults and this just settles at the back of my mind that I am eighteen. A student under my parents. I shouldn’t be here.
“Chin up, darling.” Liam’s voice breaks my reverie. “Don’t get stuck in your head about meaningless things.” He adds, almost like he can see right through me.
I was about to say something when suddenly, people surround us. Women. Lots and lots of women. Liam certainly is popular with the ladies. If I wasn’t so stuck in my own head, I’d have giggled. I manage to examine this place despite the sea of heads before me, this is when I sight Killian. Standing at a far end with a glass in his hand, he’s staring right at us. I tug Liam’s sleeve gently to get his attention. These women don’t even pay any heed to me, it’s almost as if I am invisible.
“I’ve seen your brother.” I say to Liam. “Something tells me you need rescuing.” I add, clearly teasing.
Liam holds my hand then raises his other one up. “If you’d excuse me ladies, my brother calls for my attention.” He says. That’s a lame bait but I’m sure it would work. Liam turns to me then places a kiss on the back of my palm. This is an obvious display that he’s not alone, something they clearly chose to miss. Liam forces our way through the shifting crowd heading towards his brother.
I don’t think I am ready to face Killian. It’s way too early. Perhaps I can ignore him the same way he’s ignored me. For days by the way, if I must add.
Killian and Liam exchange pleasantries while I wade the area with my eyes, looking for Kate. Where is she? Liam said she’ll be here.
“Hello you.” Darts my attention to him. My brows furrow and I look away. A hand suddenly grabs mine, gripping me so hard that I feel a sting.
“Let me go!” I breath, trying to struggle out of his grip.
“Come with me.” Killian utters, ignoring my words. “And no objections.” He’s moving forward and my body goes along with him. I don’t know where he’s taking me but I don’t want to know.
He does not have the right to ignore me even suddenly want to talk to me against my will. But I can’t even break out of his hold. “Killian, I’m wearing heels.” I gasp. We’ve gone up a couple stairs and he’s walking at a pace way too fast for my feet to follow.
This is when he stops. His eyes drapes over my figure before making the one decision I find unbelievable. He lifts me up the ground and holds me over his shoulder with one hand. Not bridal style, nor in his arms, not a piggy back ride, not via my waist as I hug him from his chest but over his freaking shoulder.
What the hell is wrong with this man? I can’t even shout because of where I’m at. I don’t even know where. He’s walking me through a corridor with several closed doors.
“Let me down, this instant, Killian.” I charge, hitting my hand on his chest. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
“When we’re somewhere we can be alone.” He says. I let out a sigh, giving in. I know it’s futile. I hate that I’m aware of this. But he better come up with something worth me listening to because a man can’t just ghost someone he claims to love without a word. It’s hurtful. Way too hurtful.
