Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 174: Someone uninvited
Amelia stood before Hannah, protecting a Luna behind her who was on the verge of collapsing.
"I won’t allow you to knock her," she said.
Hannah raised her brows.
She tilted her head before smiling at Amelia.
"Sometimes, I wonder, where did things go wrong. You were a perfect puppet in my hands. What made the lamb act like a wolf?" She asked.
Amelia furrowed her brows but didn’t comment.
She was tempted to push Hannah away, but she didn’t want to budge from her rules and conscience. If she attacked, people would see it as her jealousy flaring up. Unlike Hannah, who had nothing to lose, she didn’t want to take any chances on losing the Queen trials.
"Are you not going to answer me?" Hannah asked.
Amelia didn’t meet her gaze. Instead, she kept looking at the clock, where only a few seconds were left.
Luna Crimson, after helping the last Luna, came to her side with a nod.
They, along with a few more powerful Lunas, were able to finish all the monsters that had been made to fight them, thus protecting the weaker women from getting brutally hurt.
"Are you really going to stand against us, healer?" Luna Crimson asked Hannah.
Hannah looked at the women surrounding Amelia, and then, to everyone’s surprise, she did something that left them baffled.
She brought her hand covered in blood before licking it.
"Nah, I am good," She said before she turned, making her hair move in the opposite direction, defining strength.
Amelia’s expression twisted. She had never gotten into a fight head-on with Hannah. By the time she learnt the truth, it was too late, and she ran as fast as she could. And when she got caught, it was Dominic who attacked them, but...
She didn’t know Hannah was that strong physically. And it also meant that she needed to take these trials more seriously than she was taking them.
With a sigh, she turned to the timer that blared as the time of the first round ended.
Everyone hollered in applause for their amazing showcase of strength, and the Lunas started to walk out of the arena zone.
"Amelia," Amelia heard someone calling her from behind, and her mark glowed softly.
The cold wind swept over her neck, and she turned around with a jerk, barely holding the blade that was meant to attack her from behind and kill her.
One of the monsters wasn’t dead. He looked at her straight in the eyes, a deep shade of red covering his iris that made her gulp.
"You need to die for my revenge to be complete," the monster said to her.
Revenge? What was the monster talking about?
Amelia staggered back, barely holding the monster’s hand that was pushing forward the blade, making her feet tremble as her legs skidded on the sand.
The guards rushed to the arena to get the situation under control. However, it felt like some kind of energy was pushing them back.
"Who are you?" She asked, gritting her teeth.
"Oh, you know," The monster said before he looked down at her feet and then smirked evilly.
He kicked her legs, making her fall on the ground as he raised his hand to stab her.
However, Amelia turned around just in time, dodging the attack.
The Lunas that were leaving earlier turned around, surprised, and were about to come forward to help when they looked at the monster’s red eyes.
This wasn’t normal. He wasn’t the one they fought. This was something else.
"You are one cunning dodger, aren’t you? But you can’t keep running, little girl. It has always been like this. First you, and then your mates." The monster said.
As soon as Amelia heard those words, something inside her moved, and her mark burned with indescribable energy and magnitude.
"You will kill my mates?" Her eyes turned amber, and as the monster lunged at her to attack, she grabbed its hand head-on before smirking.
"You don’t even know who I am. I am Amelia Everleigh Grins!" Amelia snarled.
She laughed loudly before kicking the monster’s abdomen with such strength that it landed a few feet away from her.
Cyrus’s royal guards rushed to the arena to get the situation under control. But when they felt the same force that was pushing everyone out, they looked at their king.
"Stay back! You all!" Amelia raised her hand when she saw Kyle and Cyrus standing at the edge, ready to jump in to help her.
This is between me and this monster. Amelia thought before she wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth. It didn’t take a genius to guess this monster was under someone’s influence.
She took a deep breath and grabbed the swords from the sides. Not one, but two. One in each hand.
Like a warrior, she slid through the sand with precise, calculated movements before she raised her two swords in a way that even when the monster dodged the first attack, he couldn’t possibly think of her second attack.
Moving the swords on his neck at the same time, she beheaded the monster right then and there, making its head roll on the ground before the body fell with a soft thud.
The onlookers gasped at the sight. Her friends who were there to support her didn’t know if they really knew their friend that well.
She looked like a demoness who was ready to take back the throne that always belonged to her in that moment.
If the beheading was shocking, what happened next left them speechless as Amelia grabbed the monster’s head and walked straight to where Amora stood.
She looked at the former Luna Queen with a dark expression before placing the monster’s head at her feet.
"I hope I passed my first test, Former Queen Amora," Amelia said.
Amora looked at the girl, who usually seemed so docile and tame, and couldn’t help but look at Cyrus for help.
However, one look at the man was enough to tell anyone how proud of his wife he felt at that moment.
When she noticed she wasn’t going to get help anytime soon, Amora forced a smile before nodding.
"You did," she said.
Amelia nodded before she turned with an aura that was hard not to bow to.
She walked straight to the exit of the arena, where Cyrus and Kyle stood.
"Are you okay, my sweetheart?" Kyle asked once they were out of sight from public view.
"That monster threatened—" She couldn’t complete her sentence when Cyrus grabbed her hand and pressed his lips onto hers, kissing her passionately.
Amelia melted in his arms, her anger dissipating into nothingness in a second.
"Fuck you. Why did you have to look so hot while fighting? Do you have any idea how hard it was for us to control our demons from claiming you on that hot sand before everyone?" Cyrus asked.
Amelia’s cheeks turned red at the words as she looked at Kyle and noticed how both of their eyes were dark with deep emotions, and she licked her lips.
"The participants aren’t allowed to meet anyone until the trials commence," Amelia said with a cheeky smile.
Kyle scoffed.
"I don’t remember the time when I used to abide by the rules. I am coming to your room tonight, and like a good girl, you better stay awake for me," Kyle said, caressing her cheeks before he leaned and pecked her neck.
"The smell of sweat looks good on you. It enhances your natural scent, which makes me wonder how sweet you’ll smell when I fill you up to the brim," Kyle said huskily.
"I... I should go." Amelia’s face burned with embarrassment as she practically ran out of the area, and Kyle smirked at the little mouse before turning to Cyrus, his gaze turning serious.
"This needs to be checked," he said.
Cyrus nodded. He was already onto it. He ensured that today’s fight would be free of any such mistakes and that no hindrance from mages or any celestial supernatural events would occur.
Then how come that monster got possessed?
He had trusted the royal team with it, and they had indeed used the magical powder that was bestowed by the greatest Gypsies to conduct the trials for centuries without any hindrance. Then how come another power entered the circle they created without any invitation?
At the same time, Dominic, who stood inside his chambers, forbidding himself to watch those trials, smirked when he got the news from his subordinate about what happened.
It indeed worked. The first round was just a warning. The second round would definitely rewrite history for him.
