Reborn As Cursed Alpha's Mate-Chapter 54: Stephanie’s Secret Meeting
Chapter 54: Stephanie’s Secret Meeting
Lotus entered her father’s study where he was impatiently pacing.
Closing the door behind her she bravely faced her father. He paused, seeing her, and let his lips stretch into an awkward smile.
"Lotus, my child. Please! Have a seat. We have much to discuss."
"I am fine with standing. Why was I summoned?" Lotus asked, adjusting her gown. Her father had lost all respect in her eyes due to his recent treatment of Cassandra. He had always been harsh to her but never had he given up on her in such fashion.
Tholarian turned fully to watch his beautiful daughter. The one he was proud of after Stephanie. She had that righteous spirit inside her which propelled her to take steps even if they would bring her harm.
"Are you still vexed at me because of Cassandra?"
Lotus scoffed with a shake of her head. Her light brown hair bounced on her smooth shoulders.
"Do you have to ask?" fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
"I did what I had to do to safeguard my kingdom and my other two daughters. That shifter can turn into a full-blown dragon and gods know what else," Tholarian’s anger spiked a notch as he spoke.
"You pushed her into the arena knowing she doesn’t have magic. Don’t give excuses for your actions. Is she not your daughter? Is having magic above everything? Could you never see her beautiful heart?" Lotus ranted with her hands curling into small fists and her face becoming flushed.
Tholarian froze for a second. He had never considered Cassandra’s feelings. He couldn’t do it even if he tried as if his heart had been locked to not feel anything for his youngest daughter. Fathers usually doted on their youngest progeny but even if Tholarian tried, he felt nothing.
"She stole from me, that gem from your mother," he snapped, turning away from Lotus’s judgmental gaze.
Lotus couldn’t believe it after everything she had said to him, that was his response.
"You care more about the gems and your reputation than you care about your daughters. One day that’s all you will be left with."
"Don’t disrespect me, Lotus," he warned, glaringly dangerously at her but she didn’t care. He could punish her but she wouldn’t step back from telling the truth.
"Stephanie has already been pushed towards madness because you pampered and spoiled her. Cassandra is gone and I am sure that Shifter Alpha will treat her better than you ever did."
Her words burnt and blazed him as she turned around to leave. His presence was suffocating and she couldn’t digest the fact anymore that he was her father.
"And just for your information, I stole that gem from you, not Cassandra. That was meant for her and yet you hoarded it. I am ashamed to call you my father."
Without waiting for his response Lotus threw the door open and rushed out in a blinding rage. Tholarian was left standing there with mixed feelings.
He had judged Cassandra wrongly again and now he had lost the support of Lotus as well. He had summoned her so she could reconcile with Stephanie, and they could work together, forming a plan regarding the shadows of the war which seemed to be brewing.
Grinding his teeth, he resumed pacing; he needed to give Lotus some more time to heal from the sudden departure of her sister. He knew he and Stephanie never fully accepted Cassandra but Lotus adored her.
Now Stephanie was his last hope, he needed to reach out to her and pull her out of her inner demons. She was still mourning Kamyn’s loss.
Tholarian was deeply upset at how the events turned out to be. If only that bloody shifter hadn’t killed Kamyn, everything would have planned out. Cassandra would be gone with Siroos while Stephanie would be happily engaged to Kamyn and he would cement his position with two very powerful allies by his side.
The windows rattled as his powerful magic leaked out, leaving him extremely frustrated.

Donning a hooded coat Stephanie sneaked out of her father’s palace in the middle of the night. Her shadows helped hide her in the moonless night.
She made her way to a nearby inn, a private room awaited her there as she had been instructed. Her eyes were bloodshot and swollen from lack of sleep and incessant crying.
Sneaking in, she pulled her hood further down. The smell of alcohol assaulted her nose and the rowdy sounds of the travellers and mages, trying to relax after a tiring day, vexed her further.
She pulled out the silver key from one of her pockets and proceeded to the middle-aged innkeeper with a balding head. She extended the key to him and he instantly understood. Taking a deep gulp with fear crawling in his eyes he asked.
"Follow me."
Stephanie did as he had said.
He took her upstairs and placed the key into the keyhole of a thick wooden door. The chipped paint showed it had seen better days. The door creaked on its hinges as the innkeeper slowly opened it and handed her the key.
He retreated on quick steps while Stephanie entered the place. There was a red light flooding the room. She hoped that she would find the man in an appropriate position. The light of the room indicated what kind of activities it was used for. The man had a terrible reputation but whoring was not on his cards as far as she knew.
’Couldn’t he have gotten a less shady place?’ She questioned herself, stepping foot inside and letting her eyes adjust.
She found an outline of the man, he was facing her while holding a girl in his clutches. His sharp teeth were deeply embedded in her smooth neck. Her eyes were glassy and fast-turning lifeless but she made no sound in his arms as he sucked out her red nectar. The source of her life was fast becoming his.
"Ahm!" Stephanie cleared her throat to grab his attention, unperturbed by the scene as if she had witnessed it a million times. Her lover used to be a vampire so no surprises there.
The intense vermilion eyes slowly opened, raised and focused on Stephanie. The hunger was so discernible in them but he slowly extracted his fangs and roughly pushed the fully dressed woman on the bed.
She fainted from the blood loss as the man reached into his pocket and extracted an immaculate handkerchief to wipe his face and said in a deeply enigmatic voice. A voice which could charm a thousand maidens.
"Apologies! I became quite famished while waiting on you."
"It’s fine, do you need to drink more? Or we can get down to business." Stephanie took a few steps forward and placed her bottom on the wooden chair. It creaked under the weight although she wasn’t chubby.
"I am done for now." The man moved like a wraith, his hair so dark as if the darkness of the night had settled in them, except one red streak..
Stephanie hummed.
"So can we start planning on how we are going to avenge your brother and kill my sister? Prince Kanyon."
A malicious smile graced Kanyon’s thin lips as he crossed his rugged arms across his buffed chest and gave Stephanie a curt nod.
