Rebirth: The New Bride Wants A Divorce-Chapter 189: What if I say yes?
Anna wasted no time. She leaned in and parted her lips, letting her tongue trace a slow, deliberate circle over the tip of his arousal.
The touch sent a violent shiver down Daniel’s spine, his breath catching in his throat. For a heartbeat, his body screamed to give in but for her sake, he stayed still, forcing himself to endure every second of her sweet torment.
Her eyes never left his. That smirk—damn, that wicked little smirk pushed him right off the edge of restraint.
She was a beautiful, dangerous little devil who knew exactly which strings to pull to drive him insane. Even now, when her movements were clumsy and unsure, she refused to let it show. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Her confidence—raw, daring, and unshaken—was her greatest weapon. And it made Daniel’s heart pound twice its usual rhythm, each beat echoing with desire and something far deeper than lust.
Daniel’s head dropped back, a deep groan escaping his throat as his chest heaved. Anna took him deeper—too deep—until she gagged and had to pull away.
Tears stung her eyes, but she blinked them back quickly. She’d almost choked—almost lost her rhythm—but the moment she saw the look on Daniel’s face, that raw, unguarded delight, she steadied herself again.
Mom, you really had a corny mind giving me those books to read, she thought, suppressing a breathless laugh. But why didn’t you ever warn me how life-threatening this could be?
Because for a second, Anna genuinely thought she’d died when his size hit the back of her throat. Her instincts had kicked in just in time, pulling her back before things went terribly wrong.
Seeing how completely undone Daniel was. The way his body sinking into the mattress, breath shallow and trembling only made Anna more determined.
She adjusted her rhythm, careful and deliberate, watching the way every touch seemed to steal a sound from him.
When she glanced up, their eyes met and the look she found there almost undid her. The raw, unguarded hunger in his gaze stripped her bare in ways no touch could.
Heat rushed through her body, her breath catching as awareness tingled down to her core. The memory of his body against hers earlier flickered through her mind, and she felt her cheeks grow hot.
"Faster, Wifey," Daniel rasped, voice rough and low. "You’re drifting away."
As if her subconscious had heard him, Anna quickened her pace, determined and focused. She could feel the change in him, the rising tension and the way every breath he took grew more uneven.
When is this ever going to tame? she cursed inwardly, her jaw aching and her muscles protesting. That’s when the realization hit her. Just how far she’d gone and what kind of storm she’d stirred.
But her pride wouldn’t let her stop. Not now. Not when she knew that yielding would mean surrendering all the power she had over him in that moment.
And then, a wild thought crossed her mind. Did that mean she liked it?
Her gaze lifted just in time to catch Daniel’s ragged breathing, his hands gripping the mattress so tightly his knuckles had turned white. The sight made something in her stir—a spark of victory, of control.
Yes, she liked it. How could she not? When for once, she had her powerful, composed husband completely at her mercy.
Anna didn’t know where her strength came from, only that she refused to stop until she had taken him past the edge.
Every sound he made, every shudder of his body against hers, drew her in deeper until at last he broke, the tension snapping as he came undone beneath her.
For a moment, everything around them stilled. The air was heavy, filled with heat and the faint tremor of their shared breath.
Anna stayed there, dazed and breathless, her mind reeling at what had just happened. She’d done it. She’d pushed him past control and the look in Daniel’s eyes told her he would never see her the same way again.
Then, without warning, Daniel pulled her up, making her fall over him. His lips found hers in a fierce, breath-stealing kiss.
He only stopped when both of them were gasping for air. "That was... amazing," he murmured, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
Daniel could still taste himself on her lips, but somehow, tasting it from Anna made it feel different—intimate, intoxicating, and impossibly addictive.
"Come here," he said softly, guiding her to lie beside him. He wrapped an arm around her, pulling her close. He knew she’d worked hard, driven by that fiery ego of hers and for once, he didn’t care.
What he had once resented in her, he now found comforting. That stubborn pride of hers, the same thing that always challenged him, had just become the reason he couldn’t look away.
Anna didn’t protest. She nestled beside him, her head resting on his chest, her arm draped loosely across his torso. The steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath her ear was unexpectedly soothing.
For a moment, silence lingered between them until Daniel’s voice broke it.
"That DarkKnight... do you really want to be friends with him?"
Anna blinked, lifting her head slightly to meet his gaze. The disbelief on her face was unmistakable. Of all things, this was the topic she’d hoped he wouldn’t bring up, especially not now.
Why does he suddenly sound so calm about it? she wondered, a flicker of unease settling in her chest.
Her eyes narrowed, suspicion flashing behind them. "Why? Why would you ask that?" she said, her voice steady but uncertain, as if bracing for something she didn’t want to hear.
Because just a while ago, his jealousy had been obvious, raw and almost feral when she’d denied dreaming about him. It had been written all over his face.
So what changed?
"What if I say yes?" she asked, her voice edged with skepticism—half testing, half afraid of what his answer might be.
But the response she got in return shocked her to the core.
"Okay" Daniel said without an ounce of anger in his tone.
"..."
Just okay?
