Rebirth: The Ascent of a Socialite-Chapter 646 - 263: The Photos Were Leaked (Part 2)
The woman on the magazine is her! Su Ziceng’s mind exploded, legs turning to jelly. What happened? Those were her photos with Pello, why were they published in a magazine, and why were all these people scrambling to question her.
"Ziceng," Jim and Lin Ying finally squeezed through the crowd, explaining to the security that they were good friends of Miss Su Ziceng, and they pulled her out. Being rescued from the media siege, Su Ziceng felt as if she had returned to the time before her rebirth, with the sneering looks and mocking words of the others, and some passersby pointing at her.
"How could this happen?" Su Ziceng murmured, as Jim and Lin Ying shoved her into the car.
"Did my incident cause any trouble for Espr?" That was the first thing that came to Su Ziceng’s mind; everyone knew she was Espr’s Chief Operating Officer. If her scandal affected Espr, she would be the greatest sinner.
"Ziceng, let’s not talk about that now," Lin Ying stopped Jim from revealing the impact this event had on Espr, "Listen to us, do you want to take a leave and stay at home for a while?" The gossip magazine was distributed domestically, but because Su Ziceng had been on the cover of VOGUE, she had a certain degree of fame internationally as well.
The expansion of Espr, which was originally going smoothly, had to be put on a temporary hold due to this scandal that had suddenly come to light. Some malicious individuals were making a big deal out of it, suggesting that Espr’s rapid expansion success was because Su Ziceng slept around with people, smoothing things out with many officials.
"Give me that magazine," Su Ziceng demanded, she had to see for herself how the magazine maligned her. Only by facing the reality could she resolve the problem. Her affair with Pello was already a thing of the past, and she would not let anyone try to throw dirt on her and Espr anymore.
Easily five or six photos filled the pages of the gossip magazine, where the report used provocative language that was not fit to be seen. The photos mainly portrayed Su Ziceng as a seductress, using different angles to imply that she was involved with multiple people.
"That man?" Even though Lin Ying knew it wasn’t the time to ask, when she saw those photos, Hang Yishao’s expression was terrifying.
In this scandal, besides Su Ziceng and Espr, the most affected was the Hang Family. After all, just last month, Hang Yishao had proposed to Su Ziceng in front of everyone, and now, he was being accused of being cuckolded.
"It’s Pello." Su Ziceng didn’t want to hide anything; she spilled everything about the day she had relations with Pello, including the reasons and the location. After hearing her out, the faces of Jim and Lin Ying turned even grimmer. The only way to clear things up now was for the male lead in the photos to come forward, explain that the person in the photos was the same and reveal his relationship with Su Ziceng to the public.
But Pello, who already had a fiancée, would never come forward to clarify things in public. Su Ziceng might not only be labeled promiscuous but also likely to be stamped with the tag of a home-wrecker.
"Do you want to discuss it with him?" Lin Ying still hoped that Su Ziceng could get Pello to come forward and make the situation public.
"No, it’s very likely he’s the one who leaked these photos," Su Ziceng replied, knowing that her relations with Pello occurred at the Su Family’s old villa, and the clarity with which the scene was captured, without Pello’s face in any of them, it was very likely his doing.
He still harbored hatred towards the Su Family, and now that her father was making a comeback, while ZARA was falling behind Espr in competition, he chose to publish these photos, it was pointless to ask for Pello’s help now.
"At least get the magazine to stop distributing, or..." Lin Ying didn’t know what else to do, having never encountered such a situation.
After envy comes pain, Hang Yishao was sitting in a car not far away, he had originally come to pick her up. Watching Su Ziceng being shielded by Jim and Lin Ying as they put her in the car, her face full of panic and looking helpless, those damned media still relentlessly chasing her.
He leaned on the steering wheel, his eyes stinging with acidity. Ever since the magazine published the story, he had turned off his phone, afraid to switch it back on. He feared calls from inquiring friends and dreaded that his parents would ask him to immediately sever ties with Ziceng.
Su Ziceng was not the sort of person to engage in illicit affairs as the magazine stated. It was he and Pello who were to blame. Aside from Pello, Hang Yishao believed that Su Ziceng would not have relations with anyone else.
Pello had abandoned her, so why did she still involve herself with him? This was what Hang Yishao was most angry with her about. He allowed her infidelity, just as she had allowed his indiscretions in the past. Hang Yishao was also confident that he could wipe clean any remaining memories of Pello from her body, but what about her heart?
His hand pressed on the horn, unleashing a sharp honk.
"Should I give up?" Hang Yishao thought of the moment Su Ziceng got into the car, looking so lost as if heartless. If he gave up on her now, then he would have to give her up forever.
Hang Yishao opened the car door and stepped out, eyeing the scrum of reporters and suddenly pulled one out.
The reporter was startled by the sudden grab, but upon realizing it was none other than Hang Yishao, a celebrity of the city, the reporter immediately smiled brightly, "Mr. Hang, what’s your view on Miss Su Ziceng’s situation?"
The man was dragged into the car. Hang Yishao handed the reporter a cigarette, "Are you with the gossip magazine? I have some questions for you." (To be continued.
