Chapter 300: Chapter 300 Painful Past (7)
Tang Biquin opened the car door, and as soon as her legs touched the ground, she fell to the ground.
Mr. Lin’s expression changed with alarm, and he immediately got out of the car to help her up, “Have you forgotten that your leg isn’t healed yet, why get out of the car? Are you hurt anywhere?”
Ji Tingyang and Ji Zeqiu were also startled. Although children don’t have much strength, they were worried and grabbed hold of her.
Tang Biquin did not reply, the anger on her face undiminished, and she wanted to struggle over to scold those kids.
“Alright, you sit tight in the car, I’ll call the teacher in a while and complain about this,” Mr. Lin scolded sternly.
“Call now!” Tang Biquin defiantly looked at him.
“Okay, okay, I’ll call now,” Mr. Lin gave in and took out his phone to make a call.
Seeing that Mr. Lin made the call, Tang Biquin’s agitated emotions finally eased a bit.
She wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes and turned to look at Ji Tingyang, “How long has this been going on, why didn’t you tell us?”
Ji Tingyang lowered his head, “I didn’t want to worry grandma and grandpa…”
Tang Biquin opened her mouth, but seeing his little hands gripping the hem of his clothes and the pitiful, aggrieved look on his face, the reprimanding words simply wouldn’t come out.
After a while, the words she didn’t say turned into a sigh, and she patted his bowed head, “If anyone dares mock you about this again, you must tell grandma and grandpa, understand?”
“Otherwise, if we find out, we’ll only worry about you more,” Tang Biquin said.
“Is grandma mad at me?” Ji Tingyang asked cautiously.
“No, how could grandma bear to be angry with you,” Tang Biquin shook her head.
Hearing this, Ji Tingyang finally relaxed.
While they talked, Mr. Lin finished his call and returned to the car with his phone, “I’ve spoken with the teacher, he said he will talk to the parents, and he assured that this won’t happen again.”
“What good is a promise?” Tang Biquin’s expression soured, snorted coldly and turned her head away, however, in the next second, her face turned pale, and she gasped as she clutched her thigh.
Mr. Lin’s expression changed abruptly, “Did you hurt your leg again? We should go to the hospital to have it checked.”
Despite Tang Biquin’s protestations that it was nothing to make a fuss about, Mr. Lin insisted on taking her to the hospital for a check-up.
“There’s nothing serious, just make sure to rest when you get home,” the doctor said, looking at the report.
Tang Biquin gave Mr. Lin a sideways glance, “I told you I was fine, a wasted trip to the hospital and all this money spent for nothing.”
Mr. Lin: “Having a check gives us peace of mind.”
However, the next day, Tang Biquin’s condition suddenly worsened, with not just her legs, but her entire body starting to ache.
After a lengthy examination that turned up nothing, the doctor spoke to Mr. Lin with a grave expression, “I suggest you take the patient for a psychological evaluation.”
“What do you mean?” Mr. Lin was taken aback.
“I suspect this could be due to psychological issues,” the doctor said.
Psychological issues…
Involuntarily, Mr. Lin thought again of Tang Biquin’s despondency in recent times and how she would murmur her daughter’s name in her sleep.
Mr. Lin’s face was somber, “I understand, thank you doctor.”
After leaving the doctor’s office, he proceeded to register Tang Biquin for an appointment with the mental health department.
When Tang Biquin heard she was going to see a psychologist, she was very resistant, “My mind is fine, there’s no need for a psychological check. Mr. Lin, let’s go home.”
“We’re already here, let’s just have it checked,” Mr. Lin persuaded.
“It’s almost time to pick up the grandchild from school,” Tang Biquin made an excuse.

“Let’s go after the check-up; we still have time,” Mr. Lin insisted.
“Mr. Lin!” Tang Bi Qin called out angrily.
However, confined to her wheelchair, she had no choice but to watch as Mr. Lin pushed her in.
The check-up took over half an hour. While Tang Bi Qin waited outside, Mr. Lin communicated with the doctor inside.
Another dozen minutes passed, and Mr. Lin finally emerged from the doctor’s office.
“How did it go, what did the doctor say?” Tang Bi Qin asked nonchalantly, though fear crept into her heart concerning the results of her examination, especially after seeing Mr. Lin’s face shrouded in gloom.
Mr. Lin paused, hid the gravity from his face, and let out a gentle laugh, “The doctor said it’s nothing serious.”
Tang Bi Qin secretly breathed a sigh of relief, beginning to complain again, “I told you I wasn’t ill. Wasting money on these check-ups.”
“Yes, you’re right,” Mr. Lin said, “Still, I spoke to the doctor about your severe insomnia and got you a prescription for some sleeping aids. Let’s try them tonight.”
“More unnecessary spending. Insomnia isn’t even a serious issue,” Tang Bi Qin grumbled discontentedly.
Mr. Lin chuckled, “It’s for the sake of your health. Look how much it has worn down your skin lately.”
…
After returning from the hospital, Tang Bi Qin began her medication treatment, and indeed, she felt much less pain in her body.
Yet, the amount of time she spent staring blankly out the window remained unchanged. One moment she claimed to see her daughter outside, another moment she thought she saw her son-in-law.
Mr. Lin was deeply worried.
This state of affairs persisted for a week, and just as he was preparing to take Tang Bi Qin back to the hospital, she suddenly perked up.
Her injured leg had healed; no longer did she need the wheelchair, nor did she spend her days staring vacantly out the window.
“It feels so good not needing a wheelchair; I won’t have to bother you old man anymore,” Tang Bi Qin said cheerfully.
“Just the other day you complained of leg pain, how come it suddenly got better?” Mr. Lin was puzzled.
“I’ve been taking the medication for many days, resting at home for so long, it would be strange if it hadn’t improved,” Tang Bi Qin glared at him, “Do you wish for my health to be poor?”
“Of course not!” Mr. Lin retorted.
He thought about it and decided that Tang Bi Qin had a point; his face suddenly cleared of worry, “Later, when Ting Yang and the others get out of school, let’s all go out for a meal to celebrate, how does that sound?”
“Sure, and remember to pick up Lanyue too.” After saying that, Tang Bi Qin happily went to her room to choose her clothes.
Seeing her in such good spirits and even in the mood to dress up, Mr. Lin’s tightly wound heart finally relaxed. He then called the driver to pick them up at the school gate.
Ji Ting Yang spotted his waiting grandmother, Tang Bi Qin, from a distance and ran toward her excitedly, “Grandma, has your leg healed?”
“Yes, it has. Thank you for the concern, my Ting Yang,” Tang Bi Qin responded with a kind smile.
Ji Ting Yang pursed his lips and shyly smiled.
Tang Bi Qin took his small hand, “Today, your grandmother is in a great mood. She’ll take you out for a big meal.”
“A big meal?” Ji Zeqiu’s eyes lit up upon hearing that, “I want to eat fried chicken!”
Ji Ting Yang sternly said, “You should eat more vegetables and not be picky.”
Ji Zeqiu’s excited expression instantly fell.
Tang Bi Qin couldn’t help but chuckle at the two of them.
In such a merry moment, no one could have expected that the next day would bring another painful farewell.
