Rebirth: He refused to Divorce Again-Chapter 1246: The Ranch Deep Within the Grasslands
The hooves of the steed seemed to pause for a moment, then let out a joyful neigh.
It seemed to particularly enjoy Gu Qiaoqiao’s touch.
Then it began to run happily again.
This time, the steed was running fast yet steadily.
Qin Yize affectionately kissed the top of Gu Qiaoqiao’s head and softly said, "Qiaoqiao, this horse really likes you."
Gu Qiaoqiao proudly raised her neck. Ahead of them was still the grassland, but with her keen vision, she spotted a lake in the distance.
At this moment, they happened to be on a hill, and from afar, it seemed as if the crescent from the sky had fallen onto the grassland.
Excitedly, Gu Qiaoqiao pointed ahead, "Ah Ze, there’s a lake over there."
"Yes, that’s called Crescent Lake, we’ll be there soon."
A few minutes later, Gu Qiaoqiao stood on the grass. They had entered through a gate surrounded by wooden fences.
This was a ranch.
She could see the fence near the gate but not the rest, indicating that the ranch was vast.
Within her line of sight was a white Mongolian Yurt.
It was as white as a cloud that had fallen from the sky onto the grassland.
The grass here was a lively green, about the height of one’s palm, and felt incredibly soft underfoot, like a naturally woven green carpet.
Behind them was a clear lake reflecting the sunset.
On the opposite shore of the lake, there was a large tree, seemingly bearing fruit the size of soybeans.
The lakeside was dotted with wildflowers and swaying water grasses, creating a beauty that seemed out of this world.
Qin Yize removed the saddle from the steed and untied the reins, and the chestnut horse joyfully galloped away.
Gu Qiaoqiao glanced around happily and threw herself into Qin Yize’s arms, "Is this where we’re staying?"
"Do you like it?" Qin Yize wrapped his arms around the beloved girl and gently asked.
"I love it, I really love it. How could there be such a wonderful place in the world?" Gu Qiaoqiao’s eyes sparkled with astonishing brightness.
Her expression was full of joy.
"Come, I’ll take you to see the Mongolian Yurt." As he spoke, Qin Yize took Gu Qiaoqiao’s hand and walked happily towards the Mongolian Yurt.
As they walked, the two young people exchanged a glance, understood one another, and then started to run across the grassland.
The wind on the grassland carried the scent of fresh grass.
Gu Qiaoqiao wore flat soft leather shoes, making her feel as if she were walking barefoot on the grass.
While running, Gu Qiaoqiao giggled...
Qin Yize seemed to see Gu Qiaoqiao laughing like a child for the first time.
With their fingers interlocked, they grew even closer.
Soon, the two ran hand in hand to the front of the Mongolian Yurt and then stopped, with Gu Qiaoqiao curiously observing the structure.
It was indeed her first time seeing one, and it looked just like what she had seen on television.
From the gate, it seemed small, but as they approached, they found that it wasn’t so small after all.
The interior was unknown, but from the outside, it seemed to be at least eighty square meters.
Qin Yize lifted the curtain of the Mongolian Yurt, and light streamed in. Gu Qiaoqiao happily stepped inside.
What she saw was a white long-pile carpet with blue crocheted edges, and atop the carpet was an elongated coffee table.
There were four small windows around, letting in the glow of the sunset, casting a golden hue inside.
Opposite the coffee table was a low, beautifully carved bed.
Above the bed hung a tapestry.
The bed was covered with a red long-pile blanket.
On either side of the coffee table was a desk and a dressing table.
On the other side was a three-door wardrobe.
These three pieces of furniture were made of the same material, not new, but without any damage.
They were made of purple-red wood.
Nowadays, purple-red wood was increasingly scarce, mostly used for small items, and it was rare to see such large pieces of furniture made from it.
The carpet on the floor was as white as the clouds in the sky, and at the entrance was a dark red doormat. Gu Qiaoqiao delightedly took off her shoes, stepped barefoot onto the white long-pile carpet, and found it soft and fluffy, like walking on clouds.
Qin Yize did not enter. His tall, straight figure stood at the door, sunlight pouring over his back, as handsome as a heavenly god, his eyes full of affection and tenderness.
Seeing Qiaoqiao’s happiness made his heart overflow with joy as well.
After taking a glance around the room, Gu Qiaoqiao ran back to the door, looked up at Qin Yize, and eagerly asked, "Ah Ze, how did you find this place? Where is this?"
"It’s a long story; I’ll tell you tonight."
As he spoke, Qin Yize squatted, picked up Gu Qiaoqiao’s shoes, helped her put them on, and tied the laces. Only then did Gu Qiaoqiao realize and looked back inside the room.
This wasn’t like the Qin Family Old Residence nor her own courtyard, where the living room and bedroom were separate. There was only one large room here.
Gu Qiaoqiao’s heart began to pound.
Although she wanted to ask where Qin Yize would stay that night, she restrained herself and didn’t ask.
But her cheeks quietly flushed with a rosy hue.
Qin Yize understood, his eyes darkened, and he took a deep breath. Taking Gu Qiaoqiao’s hand, they left the Mongolian Yurt and walked around to the back, where there was a large kitchen.
Above was a shelter to ward off rain, with military canvas on three sides to block the wind. Standing at the kitchen door, Qin Yize softly said, "Qiaoqiao, I’ll go get your travel bag. There’s drinkable tea in the thermos on the table."
Unconsciously, Gu Qiaoqiao nodded, and Qin Yize smiled, striding away toward the ranch gate. He found it amusing, as watching the overjoyed Gu Qiaoqiao made his heart soar, so he had forgotten to bring the travel bag.
Standing by the door, Gu Qiaoqiao noticed that although the kitchen was simple, it was clean and tidy. To the right was a long wooden dining table with two benches on either side.
On the table was a tea tray with a thermos and six teacups scattered around.
Feeling slightly thirsty, Gu Qiaoqiao walked over, opened the thermos, and a rich aroma of milk flooded her senses. She poured herself a cup of milk tea, took a sip, and found it incredibly fresh, a hundred times tastier than any she had in the Imperial Capital.
Unable to resist, Gu Qiaoqiao drank another cup.
A strange feeling arose in her heart.
She had no idea what more surprises Qin Yize had in store for her.
But whatever it was, she was delighted.
After drinking two cups of milk tea, Gu Qiaoqiao set the cup down. The kitchen had rice, flour, and vegetables all placed on a wooden rack.
In a small cupboard were the oil, salt, soy sauce, and vinegar.
They were evidently going to stay here for several days.
Qin Yize had clearly prepared everything.
With a smile on her lips, Gu Qiaoqiao turned around to see Qin Yize, striding purposefully towards her under the setting sun.
