Rebirth: He refused to Divorce Again-Chapter 1245: The Tamed Mustang
In a matter of moments, Qin Yize rode up to the two of them on horseback.
With a tight pull on the reins, the fiery red horse let out a loud neigh, its front hooves rearing high up before steadily coming to a halt.
Seated on the horse, Qin Yize, with sword-like eyebrows and sharp eyes, appeared as composed as a general returning from the battlefield.
Chu Chengfeng felt like he couldn’t breathe.
Qin Yize swiftly dismounted, the afternoon sun casting a glow behind him. His long legs encased in black riding boots, he walked unhurriedly over the green grass to stand before the two.
Chu Chengfeng’s mouth gaped at Qin Yize, before glancing towards the tall, majestic horse, his eyes brimming with excitement.
Recovering from his stupor, he pointed at Qin Yize, stammering, "A... A... Ah Ze, where did you get this horse?"
"Mine," Qin Yize replied in a low voice.
"Yours?"
Qin Yize nodded.
"Can I take it for a ride?" Chu Chengfeng asked eagerly.
He then moved towards the tall, red horse.
Qin Yize extended an arm to stop Chu Chengfeng, raising a handsome brow, "You can’t ride it!"
"Ah Ze, you’re so stingy, aren’t we brothers?" Chu Chengfeng complained with a hint of grievance.
"This wild horse was just tamed and now only recognizes me as its master. It won’t let you ride it," Qin Yize stated calmly.
"Just tamed wild horse?" Chu Chengfeng stopped debating.
Indeed, he refrained from taking another step forward, looking up at the red horse standing imposingly. Its neck adorned with a flowing mane — some black, exuding majesty and mystery, some golden-red, glowing with fiery hues.
The horse boasted unmatched strength and beauty.
Chu Chengfeng looked at Qin Yize in admiration, "You’re incredible, taming such a beautiful wild horse."
"It’s the leader of the wild horses," Qin Yize said nonchalantly, then picked up the travel bag from the ground, grabbing the hand of a dazed Gu Qiaoqiao. He addressed Chu Chengfeng beside him, "In five days, Qiaoqiao and I will come to pick you all up at this time. Everyone should prepare their own riding gear..."
Chu Chengfeng stood there, forgetting to blink. Only when Qin Yize, hand in hand with Gu Qiaoqiao, walked to the side of the red horse did he react, raising his voice, "Ah Ze, there will be quite a few people, will there be enough horses?"
Qin Yize looked back at Chu Chengfeng and smiled, "You can be generous and let them ride while you watch."
"Ah Ze..." Chu Chengfeng stamped his foot childishly.
Qin Yize laughed in a rare moment of good humor.
The snow-clear brow, warm as melting spring waters, as he hung the travel bag on the saddle, looked down at Gu Qiaoqiao, his voice laced with amusement, "Qiaoqiao, why haven’t you said anything?"
Gu Qiaoqiao blinked, stared steadily at Qin Yize, pursing her red lips, angled a teasingly reproachful glance his way, and finally spoke honestly, "Your arrival was simply too stunning!"
Qin Yize chuckled again.
A charming glint sparkled at the corner of his eye as he hugged Gu Qiaoqiao, lifting her high before gently setting her down in the saddle without waiting for her surprised yelp.
The red horse raised its head, seemingly uncomfortable or disapproving of the foreign presence atop it, just as it was about to rear, Qin Yize pulled on the reins, calming it in an instant.
Gu Qiaoqiao wasn’t afraid; it was her first time horseback riding. The saddle was covered with a plush blanket, soft and comfortable.
Then Qin Yize, smoothly mounting the horse, gripped the reins and signaled to Chu Chengfeng a short distance away, loudly reminding, "Drive back slowly."
Afterward, with a squeeze of his legs, the red horse trotted forward.
Unlike the swift gallop from before, this was more like a leisurely stroll on the grasslands.
Because there was now a delightful girl on the horse’s back.
Watching the majestic horse, Chu Chengfeng was indeed envious, but even in a trot, the horse and the couple atop it were getting further away from him.
Five more days?
Why five days!
Clearly to avoid being disturbed in their world of two, he and Gu Qiaoqiao!
Chu Chengfeng sulkily kicked a wildflower nearby, hands on hips, contemplating for a moment before briskly heading to where the cars were parked.
Five days are just five days.
After all, it’ll pass in the blink of an eye.
And although he has riding attire, he intends to order a new, most handsome set.
Of course, there’s also Xiao Wen’s.
That girl is agile; she’ll surely look spectacular on a horse.
Chu Chengfeng grinned, imagining Xiao Wen as a meteor racing across the grassland.
He sat in the car, chuckling foolishly for a while, then gathered himself, started the car, and drove steadily toward the Imperial Capital.
Meanwhile, Qin Yize and Gu Qiaoqiao had reached the depths of the grassland.
The sunset was like fire, magnificent clouds spread across the western sky.
The sunlight was so pure, and the boundless green grassland seemed to stretch endlessly, the azure sky almost within reach.
It seemed like the world was reduced only to him and her.
Qin Yize held her by the waist, his breath caressing the ends of her hair.
Naturally and intimately.
Gu Qiaoqiao glanced ahead; the vast grassland stretched out before them, with not a single house nor road in sight, prompting her to ask, "Where are we going?"
Qin Yize murmured in her ear, "Almost there."
"It’s so beautiful here; it’s my first time in such a place, my first time riding a horse..." Gu Qiaoqiao couldn’t help but marvel.
"Qiaoqiao, do you like it?"
"Of course, I do."
"You’ll like it even more once we arrive," Qin Yize said meaningfully.
"Is this my surprise?" Gu Qiaoqiao teased.
"Mm," Qin Yize replied softly.
"Is that why you didn’t call me?" Gu Qiaoqiao asked.
"Yes, I was afraid that hearing your voice would make me unable to keep it a secret," Qin Yize admitted honestly.
"So, does that mean I can serve as a lie detector?" Gu Qiaoqiao playfully asked.
"But only mine," he said.
"Why’s that?" Gu Qiaoqiao asked, her voice filled with playful mirth.
"Because it only works on me," Qin Yize drawled slowly, word by word.
Hearing this, Gu Qiaoqiao’s heart fluttered; if they weren’t atop a horse, she would have turned around to kiss this increasingly articulate man.
Gu Qiaoqiao giggled with delight.
The sound, as bright as bells, resonated through the green-dappled plains.
Qin Yize contentedly rubbed his chin against Gu Qiaoqiao’s head. Seeing her now familiar with the horse’s pace, he tightened his hold on Qiaoqiao slightly, gave the reins a gentle tug, and the horse quickened its pace.
Horses are meant to gallop.
Even the tamed wild ones.
As the horse accelerated, Gu Qiaoqiao’s eyes widened with surprise and delight, her hands unconsciously found their way to the horse’s mane.
