Re: Elf Prince—A Degenerate's Second Chance-Chapter 91. Ash Valerion
91. Ash Valerion
There he was standing before a figure he never hoped to meet, Eryndor broke into a sweat as he struggled to retain a semblance of confidence in the current situation. He cursed at himself for his awful luck.
Who was Ash Valerion and why was he so afraid of him? Where had he heard the name before and why did he want more than anything but to avoid it?
The strange prisoner that went by the appellation of Ash Valerion smirked lightly and said after a while. "So I take it he told you about me. That’s makes me feel popular a bit but from your looks I take it it’s was more negative than positive."
Elise stood in their middle like a peacemaker set between two soon to be warring countries. One was overly cautious and calculating and the other covered in an air of enigma, he appeared more confident than anyone in the room.
Not wanting to seem intimidated Eryndor spoke up in a clear almost strong voice. "What are you talking about you creep? I don’t even know who the hell you are."
Ash frowned and said. "You really are an idjit if you think that’ll work on me. You already gave yourself off from your eyes. I take it you’re either a terrible liar or that you’ve never looked at yourself in the window before."
"Shit." Eryndor cursed under his breath as he felt all his strings come undone. There was no use hiding again, "Yeah I’ve heard of you. Are you going to kill me too, it’s not like our magic works here so too bad."
Ash did not show any visible expression as he spoke further and raised his hand igniting a blood red flame on it. Eryndor had never seen such a dark colour of flame before after realising that magic worked in the steel cage he cursed again.
He wondered if a redder flame meant it was more powerful, if so he was in deep trouble.
Ash quenched his flames and turned to walk away. "You really are an idjit, I have no intention of fighting you. I save your life not out of favours let’s say I just wanted a chat with you since we were under the same master."
Eryndor did not feel sympathy from the voice meaning that Ash did not want sympathy in any way. In his second year training with the cinder king he had learned something very unpleasant. Apparently the cinder king had a number of students at one time but none of them could stand the conditions there so they either ran away or they perished in the cold.
In all these students were two who had been handpicked by the cinder king himself. He had considered them to be prodigious students worthy to be called his disciples, they were both blessed with the flame attribute. These two soon became the only ones who stayed behind and according to the cinder king their ability to learn and grow surpassed his by leaps and bounds.
One was beast person Rin who hoped to become a great flame mage and cancel his tribes belief in flame magic to be a tool of destruction. The second was the half elf Ash who was a strange boy from unknown origins. They both learned and trained together and shared a brotherly bond.
According to the cinder king there was only one stark difference between the two Rin was energetic and well rounded in both swordsmanship and magic while Ash struggled to get better. He also noted that Ash had a strange tendency and a mental instability. But all of this was maintained under the cinder kings guidance.
Apparently when it was time for them to kill their own awakened beast they both set out and only one came back and it was not Rin, it was Ash. Ash had returned carrying his brother-in-arms in his arms, he was already dead by then and horribly injured. Only that the injuries were never inflicted by a beast but by a blade, there was also a blade impaled in his neck and it was Ash’s.
The cinder king was greatly horrified and according to his words, Ash returned and dropped Runs lifeless body before leaving quietly and not saying a word more. Days later he returned with dozens of beast cores as well as with the lifeless body of the awakened beast they had seen. Instead of showing remorse for Rin’s death he did not seem to care and wanted to begin his next training as soon as possible. He wanted to learn the ultimate technique of the cinder king, the supernova star but was turned down.
Ash apparently took it well and left again and this was the cinder kings first mistake, letting him off. One day Ash returned and it was not to tender and apology, he came through the window and went on a rampage and attacked the cinder king, since he was never taught the moon style sword art he used the basic sword art to a high degree. He also utilized complex flame magic that was more than a level above his.
He lost unsurprisingly but not before displaying his insane battle prowess and bloodlust. It was an irrational and crazed attack pattern he had never seen before. The cinder king out of pity chose not to kill his only remaining prized student. He sealed Ash’s flame magic and banished him from the mountain believing unleashing him on the world to be a form of mercy but not knowing whether he had let loose an untrained weapon.
The story did not stop there with every action of Ash questioning his sanity more and more. Eryndor did not want to believe such a blizzare story but what he heard next caused him to throw up.
Apparently a few months passed and the cinder king went back to the site where he had buried Rin’s body only to find out that it had been dug up and since I one aside from Ash knew the icy mountains well he suspected he was the orchestrator of this sick act. Ash did not stop there but went much much further to do something revolting, he dug open the chest of his dead friends and took the heart that was within. Since then no news had been heard of him.
The cinder king had warned Eryndor just in case he met him to avoid him at call cost. Despite Eryndor’s training being almost complete and Ash’s never really reaching half way he was warned that there would be an unlikely word gap between them and it would not be in Eryndor’s favour.
Eryndor did not know if this was true but he did not want to be the one to test it. But another thing might have clarified his fears, if the cinder king had sealed away Ash’s flame magic how was he able to conjour up such a powerful flame ball? 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
A storm of questions plagued his mind in that moment.
Did Ash undo the seal of the cinder king? His did he undo the seal? How strong was he? Why was he a prisoner there?
Eryndor found it hard to believe he was captured, the only conclusion was that he was staying there of his own volition but why? Whatever the story was with Ash Valerion now in the mix things would get much more harder for Eryndor in life.
