Rogue Villain-Chapter 422: Epilogue
Sometime after the Observer’s death.
"Hey, Ana, did you ever get around to confessing? Or did you just jump straight into doing the nasty with Atlas?"
Mio lay on her stomach and flailed her legs gently as she rested her head and looked at Anatol getting dressed.
"That’s his name now? And you’re asking me now?"
Anatol grabbed one of Ackster’s shirts, put it on, and deemed it enough of an outfit to get breakfast in.
"Still in the trial period. I’ve tried asking you before. But you always avoid the question and leave."
Mio nodded toward the door, closing and sealing it.
"Really? This is how you’re going to play it?"
Anatol raised an eyebrow.
"If you don’t like it, just fess up. You won’t get any further with him unless you open up your heart, you know?"
Anatol tried to open the door. But when that didn’t work, she could only press her back against it as Mio approached with a menacing smirk.
"I-I’m not sure I want to get any further than I did last night. I’m still sore."
"Is that so?"
Mio placed one hand on the door next to Anatol’s head and grabbed her chin with the other.
"But don’t you want more?"
Anatol shook her head and freed herself of Mio’s grasp over her chin.
"He knows how I feel, and I know he knows. That’s all that matters."
Mio shrugged and held up her hands in defeat.
"If that’s how you feel, I can’t change it. But you might want to sit tonight out, then."
"Why?"
"Does he at least know why you stuck around?"
"I asked why."
"Even if he knows, I’m sure he would appreciate hearing straight from your mouth that his rough hands, when wielding you, charmed you. Oh, can you imagine? Those sturdy, callused, muscular hands wrapping around your ankles, thighs, waist, breasts, neck?"
With sultry movements, Mio didn’t just vocalize her desire. She showed Anatol what she meant by grabbing those places on herself and forcing the demon to visualize what it would be like to be held and grabbed like that by Ackster.
Anatol’s face flushed red, and her eyes grew feverish as she imagined it. But after a few dreamy moments, she shook her head fiercely and dispelled those images.
"I asked you why I should sit tonight out, Mio!"
Mio opened her eyes, and her own dreamy expression faded as she glanced at Anatol and slowly lowered her hands. She pushed Anatol aside and reached for the handle.
"We’ve been talking about aiding the repopulation efforts lately."
Mio left the room while Anatol looked at where Mio had just been, frozen stiff while processing her words.
***
Ackster’s mood affected the world. The incident at the celebration party confirmed that. So, when he was engaging in his nightly business with his ladies, he inspired the rest of the world to also be active.
The restoration efforts after the disasters that reduced Millmeria’s population to a fraction of what it was before The Calamity took off.
However, Ackster’s mood wasn’t the only thing that affected Millmeria. His strength did, too.
Ackster and Millmeria were interconnected in a symbiotic relationship where they sustained, helped, and nourished each other. It was just that Ackster’s strength, talent, and potential was greater than Millmeria’s. So, it ended up with him boosting Millmeria’s strength, especially after he digested the three cosmic gods in their entirety.
Ackster’s increased strength led to Millmeria’s expansion, fortification, and evolution.
The world’s mana increased in quality and quantity. That mana affected all it touched. Materials that the world had never seen before sprouted.
The Creator was overjoyed and developed a new series of research texts, inventions, and creations that made full use of all of those strange materials that surpassed almost everything else. In a rare few places, a few parts of something even better than Heavenly Iron also popped up.
The Celestial Realm couldn’t sit still at the world’s rapid advance at the hands of Ackster. But they were too late.
Ackster didn’t even have to step up personally to get the Celestial Realm to fall in line. Wilma could finally put her plans to work and have the gods and angels of the Celestial Realm contribute to Millmeria’s growth.
Ackster’s mood and strength also led to a plethora of strange creatures being born. The distinction between beasts and monsters faded as everything mixed and procreated for generations.
The continuous breeding had mixed results. But Ackster’s strength and vitality prevented anything unfortunate from being born. Either the new generation was as strong as the parents or stronger.
But it was nature’s way of keeping balance. The humans and intelligent civilizations of Millmeria advanced in strength and technology. Naturally, the wilderness of Millmeria did the same.
However, thanks to the improvement of mana, dragons still reigned at the top, along with one new addition, Puppy. Puppy had twelve wings, but the bird had reached a level of strength where another pair of wings wouldn’t increase its speed or power.
The cute little bird had also acquired the level of strength necessary to fly in space. He had already started taking excursions out of Millmeria.
But the barrier Ackster had made by using the deer-shaped dark hole’s power that shielded Millmeria and hid the world made Puppy hesitate.
However, after eating a bunch of Ackster’s flesh, Puppy had established a link that, as long as Ackster allowed it, would let the bird always return home. So, Puppy led the first one-bird party excursion beyond Millmeria. Millmeria’s skies were just too small for the mighty bird.
Just like the majority of Ackster’s party, the bird couldn’t be satisfied with its current self. It sought greater heights.
"Have you ever considered tagging along?"
Mio looked up at Ackster while dragging her fingers along his chest.
"You know, maybe visiting Earth?"
Ackster hesitated.
"No. I don’t think I will ever visit Earth."
"Why not? Didn’t you say it was real?"
"It is real. But what if it’s different from the memories from the Observer? I also don’t have anything to gain by going there except trouble. But I can definitely consider going on a vacation when Puppy comes back and if the River of Time has recovered."
"That’s why the Observer couldn’t turn back time again, right?"
"Yeah. He broke the River doing it the first time. Without it, there was nothing for him to affect."
"I know Wilma asked before, but how come we are still fine without the River?"
"Me, mostly. But the River is mostly a failsafe. It provides guidance and options. It shows possibilities and alternate realities. Without it, there’s just one option. One reality. If shit happens, there’s no version where everything turns out alright." 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
"We’re lucky to have you, then."
"And I’m lucky to have you. All of you."
The end.
