Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster-Chapter 308: A Chosen One
Chapter 308: A Chosen One
Rael tapped his heel on the ground, waiting for the hour to finally pass.
And once it did, he suddenly felt a surge of power enter his body, then swiftly settle where his heart used to be.
He did a little test a few days ago, which involved stabbing himself a few times.
And... yeah, I have no organs. The only thing I do have is a tiny crystal ball where my heart should be, Rael mused, then glanced to the side.

<Evaluation: You’re now what is considered a cockroach.>
Rael sighed.
At least the skills are better. Though the evaluations feel like someone is just trying to mock me, he grumbled. Where was the evaluation with the Reaper class?
Even so, since he didn’t have anyone to put the blame on, he simply took it on the chin and checked out his stats.

Hmm... not bad, Rael nodded to himself. If I hadn’t spent most of my time tripping people and fought monsters instead, I might’ve been able to level up a bit.
Still, he was pretty satisfied with the stat increases as they’d be pretty useful moving forward.
Before he left this alley, there was still one more thing to do, and that was...
<Would you like to use: High Grade Weapon Enhancement Material on the item [Basic Reaper Sword (Rare)]? Yes / No>
Rael double-checked that this was the right weapon, and with that, pressed "Yes."
The sword vanished from his grasp, and a moment later, it came back.
To his surprise, the blue glow was much brighter than before, and once he inspected its stats, he was left surprised.
—Basic Reaper Sword (Rare) → (Rare++)
Durability: 2,488/2,500 → 5,000/5,000
Damage: 150–331 → 244–485
+50 Strength
+50 Agility
+100 Constitution
<Special Effect: You can slash incorporeal beings and deal 50% → 55% more damage to them!>
No increase in the stat gains, but the damage of the sword nearly doubled. Worth it, Rael thought with a chuckle and stashed the sword.
With that, he was done with the basic preparations.
He stepped out of the alleyway, and just as he was about to go look for a shrine, he heard cheering in the distance.
"The Goddess of Light is here!"
"All praise Maria!"
"Maria! Maria! Maria!"
What the fuck is happening? Rael thought with a frown as he made his way toward the voices.
And when he finally arrived, he was met with a peculiar sight.
There was a parade going on, with an elevated platform being pushed on nearly invisible wheels.
The people pushing it were all buff bald men, and there was one person resting on a small throne on top of the platform.
Several props were scattered around, but they all had the theme of light to them.
Rael squinted his eyes, focusing on the figure on top, and it was just some golden-haired woman.
She had an air of nobility to her, but the reason she had caught his eye was because of a certain feeling at the back of his neck.
And the more he focused on her, the more uncomfortable the feeling became, until eventually, a pop-up descended.
<A Chosen One is nearby.>
Aha...
The woman suddenly met Rael’s gaze and gave him a soft wink before returning to her fanboys and fangirls.
Hmm... Rael tilted his head. She doesn’t seem like a bad person at a glance... but I guess by signing up to do the hidden scenario, I won’t have to make a distinction when killing them.
After all, they were heroes, so there was no way they would be evil.
My ass, Rael scoffed. I’ll keep an eye on her for a bit, and depending on how she acts, I’ll make my decision then.
With that, he entered the Soul Realm and hopped onto the platform before sitting down on one of the prop chairs.
A few minutes passed, then turned into hours.
And even then, he couldn’t tell what was so special about her.
She stopped every now and again to heal somebody.
But Julian did the same things. Honestly, his heals seemed even better, Rael thought.
More time passed, and eventually, night fell as the parade came to a stop.
People went to sleep, and the buff men carrying her platform put it down, then silently walked away.
Only now did Rael realize something was off about them.
Hmm...? Their eyes are lifeless. Are these guys even there in the head?
But before he could find out, one of the men jumped on top of the platform and ran toward Maria.
His face seemed crazed as he foamed at the mouth.
However...
"Sit..." Maria muttered, causing the man running for her to suddenly stop.
His body rapidly convulsed, twisting in odd shapes, and finally, he sat down like a dog.
Maria rose from the throne and approached the man, a faint smile appearing on her face as she gently placed her hand on the man’s head.
"Good boy..."
