Chapter 226: Outer God Anubis

<You have arrived at the Ancient Temple of the Outer Sun God, Anubis!>

His vision returned, and with it, a new sight.

He stood in front of an empty golden temple, which looked slightly run-down. But even so, it was just as menacing.

[Hmm... You’re a bit unlucky,] Burger commented. [Outer Gods are not actual gods. In this case, they’re a combination of the Sun God Ra and the God of Judgment, Anubis. They’re pretty weak if their skill only amounts to Celestial rank, though.]

Isn’t Celestial rank one of the higher ones? It’s nearly the highest in the Advanced category. Rael frowned. It’s two stages higher than Exalted and just two stages away from the highest rank, Ascended.

[It’s a God, idiot,] Burger scoffed. [To become a God, you must be a Grade 6 existence at the very least. Those people already use skills outside of the system, so even if they do give someone a terrible skill, its rank would be insanely high.]

Hmm... fair enough. Rael shrugged, taking a look around. So what, am I dead?

[Not yet,] Burger replied. [Just go meet this Outer God and get it done with.]

Rael let out a sigh. He was definitely not having a good day.

And if he was being honest, he not only underestimated Diederich, he had also overestimated himself.

After all, even with two storms attacking Diederich, Rael didn’t manage to do all that much damage.

-174,646,895,821 [174.646B]! Critical Hit! (x2 Caustic Prism Heart)

Maybe a little, but he only managed to get two ticks in before Diederich canceled the skill.

But he didn’t even seem fazed... just how much HP does he have?

Rael put those thoughts aside and tried to activate one of his perks, but nothing worked.

<Premium Perk usage is disabled in the domains of gods.>

He still had a teleport scroll, but once he ripped it, nothing happened.

[They have already taken care of most loopholes. Just go already. The longer you make them wait, the worse it’ll be.]

Fine...

With that, Rael walked up the temple’s steps and continued forward.

The steps were wide, cracked, and partially covered in sand. And as he finally reached the very top, he was met with a completely open space. There were pillars to the sides stretching into the sky, providing cover from the sun.

But aside from that, there was only a single black bean bag chair in the middle of the otherwise empty temple.

Rael approached it and crouched down, poking it a few times.

Divine bean bag, huh? Zafira would love something like this, Rael thought, tempted to just stash it inside his inventory.

But he refrained and sat down instead.

It was incredibly comfy, and he could practically feel himself drifting away, but once he looked up, he realized there was a golden-haired woman staring at him.

Thin threads were tied around the four pillars, acting as a harness that suspended her.

She was practically half-naked, with a few layers of white cloth surrounding her private parts. She had a gemstone collar around her neck and several glyphs etched onto her toned body.

But soon, she began to descend, landing right in front of him and looking at him blankly.

—Outer Sun God, Anubis (Grade 6 King Class) [Level 359] [??? HP/??? HP]

"Hey..." Anubis mumbled, her brows twitching. "That’s mine..."

[Alright... she’s pretty powerful. Try not to offend her,] Burger said in a serious tone.

Rael shot up from the bean bag chair and stood in front of her.

However, she simply stepped past him and fell into the bean bag chair comfortably.

She adjusted herself, then gave him a puzzled glance.

"...Who are you again? I don’t remember ordering any cleaners."

"Uh...?" Rael tilted his head. "It looks like I stumbled here by accident...? Does your graciousness mind if I leave?"

"Nope, get out. I’m going to sleep," Anubis urged, waving him away.

For a moment, Rael thought this idiot god was kidding, but as he walked away, no one stopped him.

[...Is she alright in the head?] Burger muttered. [A lazy Outer God? Those rascals are the most lively.]

Right... so what’s an Outer God anyway?

[Gods from outside of this universe. There’s a lot of them, and they’re usually those from alternate timelines,] Burger replied. [Basically, they’re real Gods of their universe, but when they cross into a universe that is not their own, they are labeled as Outer Gods. Most of the time, their traversal is intentional, and they never have good motives.]

[Oh, and I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or not, but most of them are pure evil,] Burger added.

Rael sighed at the explanation and made it down the stairs.

Yet as he was about to continue moving forward, he saw Anubis in front of him, the same puzzled expression as earlier.

"You were sent here by my skill? Did I give someone my skill?" Anubis commented with a slight frown.

The pressure increased, pinning him to the ground and nearly crushing his bones. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

"State your name, uhh... badge number—no... that’s the wrong line," Anubis trailed off. "Just tell me who you are and who sent you here."

"I’m Rael," he replied through a pained groan. "And the one who sent me here is called Diederich, the King of Aztera."

"Aztera?" Anubis tilted her head. "Never heard of them. But okay, let’s see..."

She fell into thought and began pressing the air. After a few moments, her eyes lit up.

"Oh, it’s that guy. I remember now..." Anubis chuckled. "I misclicked and gave him a Greater Blessing instead of a Lesser one. Oh well... What should I do with you then?"

"How about letting me go?" Rael suggested.

Anubis shook her head. "I can’t do that. It’s been many years since the last time I judged someone personally. So you’ll just have to bear through it, okay, Rael?"

A faint smile appeared on her face as she crouched down and placed a single finger on his forehead.

"This might sting a little."
