Chapter 225: Overwhelming

As much as he wanted to test his limits, Rael decided it was best he canceled that attack.

He had two choices, and one of them was to use Anti Magic. However, there was the problem of its cooldown being 12 hours.

But it would give me 5 seconds of vulnerability which I could use... Rael trailed off with a sigh. I don’t think I’d be able to finish the fight right as it began...

Therefore, as much as it pained him to do so, Rael went with the other option.

<Would you like to cancel the opponent’s skill? Cost: 2,000,000,000 Trell>

<Would you like to steal the opponent’s skill [Solar Singularity (Exalted)]? Cost: 10,000,000,000 Trell>

<Ding!>

<Skill: Solar Singularity (Exalted) has been cancelled>

<It will remain canceled for 5 seconds to ensure fairness!>

The moment that pop-up fell, Diederich returned to normal, and so did his muscles. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com

He raised a brow in confusion as he suddenly lost control of his halberd, dropping it to the ground with a loud thud.

"You can only use your halberd when the skill is active? Huh... the more you know," Rael remarked, and without wasting another second, kicked off the ground, arriving in front of Diederich.

It was the first time he had actually used all his strength, so it was surprising for him to see the ground shatter and the wind explode outward.

He was like a walking natural disaster, so much so that in the distance, he saw the soldiers falling to their knees, some even being thrown off the wall by the wind pressure.

Even the sand particles twisted and turned into deadly projectiles that caused tiny holes to appear in the reinforced capital wall.

But despite all this overwhelming strength, the moment Rael was about to send a punch, Diederich countered.

Diederich lowered his body, then sent a back kick right at Rael’s jaw. It happened so fast that despite the 1-second foresight advantage, the most he could do was tilt his chin to the side, making the kick just barely miss.

But because of that, he couldn’t phase.

"Close combat against me is not a wise idea, Rael Sutekh," Diederich remarked.

Then, without warning, he grabbed Rael’s leg, threatening to rip it off.

But before he could, Rael turned to the Premium Shop and bought a little something.

A palm-sized glass vial appeared in Rael’s hands. It had a strange green substance inside that seemed to stick to the glass inside the vial.

Without wasting a second, Rael threw it directly at Diederich’s face.

Since they were so close, Diederich couldn’t fully evade, so when the glass vial made contact, it shattered, sending razor-thin pieces of glass everywhere.

Even Rael wasn’t spared, but since he didn’t suffer the brunt of the attack, he was still fine.

<Healing has been disabled!>

<Duration: 1 minute>

Diederich let go of Rael’s leg, but not before twisting it slightly.

Rael grimaced in pain and stepped back, glancing at Diederich. The entire left side of his face was mangled. The green substance stuck to his skin and eroded it.

But that moment of weakness didn’t last long. After all, 5 seconds had already passed.

Fuck... if I use Radiant Transformation now, then I’ll lose around 60% of my money... but I can try this out instead.

Two giant storms appeared directly on Diederich. It was a swirling mass of frostfire, crystals, and acid, and it was sure as hell powerful.

But despite all those overpowered skills stacked on one another, Diederich seemed unfazed.

"Pfftt... hahahaha!" Diederich let out a hearty laugh. "You really do know how to cause havoc. With such strong skills, it’s no wonder you’re confident."

Diederich narrowed his eyes at Rael, a faint smile tugging at his lips.

"But do you think you’re the only one with overpowered skills?"

The moment his words fell, Rael’s body froze as a single pop-up appeared, making his eyes widen.

<You have been affected by the skill: First Stage of Judgement Scales of the Outer Sun God, Anubis (Celestial)>

<Your sins will now be weighed...>

<Ding!>

<Verdict: Unjust.>

<Unjust: 50% Decreased stats. All skills are locked for 10 seconds. All means of teleportation, healing, and mana regeneration are disabled.>

Rael’s body weakened in an instant.

His two storms were still raging on, attacking Diederich. But no matter how much time passed, the skills didn’t deal considerable damage.

"Do you have anything left to offer?" Diederich asked, puzzled. "Because as it stands, you’re about to perish, Rael Sutekh."

Rael snapped his leg back into place, then sighed, trying to drag out the 10 seconds so he could use skills again.

"I guess I am, aren’t I? Have any tips for the future?"

"Hahaha, tips?" Diederich mused. "You won’t be needing tips in the grave. But do not fear, you won’t be alone. Your wife is going to join you in due time."

Rael’s brows twitched. "For someone who has lost his own wife, you sure do have a lot of shit to say, don’t you?"

Silence ensued, yet it only lasted a few seconds as Diederich suddenly raised his halberd into the sky. In the next moment, a bolt of light descended, parting both the storms that had been surrounding him, and effectively canceling the two skills.

<Skill: x2 Caustic Prism Heart has been canceled!>

"Your words have lost all meaning since the last time you spoke them," Diederich said slowly. "You killed my son, and you’ve tried to occupy my lands. But sadly for you, Rael Sutekh, it hasn’t gone according to plan."

He approached Rael, stopping right in front of him.

Rael skimmed through the Premium Shop, trying to find the most powerful explosive available. But then it dawned on him that he wouldn’t be able to escape the radius either.

Haa... shit... I should’ve scrambled his stats from the start, maybe then I would’ve been able to beat him quickly... probably not.

Diederich threw a punch straight at Rael’s jaw, sending him skidding across the ground.

He chuckled as he approached again.

"But before I kill you, I want you to endure the greatest of suffering," Diederich added out of nowhere, causing Rael’s brows to furrow.

"What? Are you going to tickle me with a feather?" Rael asked mockingly.

"Oh god, no." Diederich chuckled, a twisted grin appearing on his face.

"Why don’t we put your soul on the line instead?"
