Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law-Chapter 619 Regret (1)_1
Dumbledore, Boville.
Within a luxurious villa, in the spacious and bright hall, Noah Reyes was dressed casually in a black short-sleeve shirt and black trousers, exuding an informal air. Aside from his handsome appearance, one couldn’t tell he was the young leader of the Flame Gate. Gone was his usual unpredictability and that intimidating aura.
He leaned back on the sofa, holding a book and reading.
Several black-clad bodyguards standing not too far behind him were staring, their eyes wide. The sun must have risen from the west today, they thought. Their young master is actually leisurely reading a book, and quite enthusiastically at that! It’s truly astonishing.
CLACK. CLACK. CLACK.
The sound of high heels tapping on the floor approached, followed by a whiff of fragrance.
"Noah."
Her voice was delicate and soft, enough to make one’s bones melt. A girl appeared, seemingly around twenty-one or twenty-two years old, wearing a pair of silver high heels worth over ten thousand, and on her arm dangled a silver-white LV bag. She didn’t exhibit an aristocratic temperament, yet her attire gave the impression of a young lady from a wealthy family.
The moment she appeared, the bodyguards behind Noah nearly had their eyes pop out.
However, their momentary distraction lasted less than a minute before they quickly refocused. After all, this was not their young master’s territory.
Noah’s face was expressionless, his gaze still focused on the book in his hands.
"Noah, honey, I’m talking to you." The girl, Jane Turner—a rather innocent-sounding name—sat down beside him, leaning her entire body against him.
"I’m not deaf. I heard you." Noah coldly shifted to the side, not allowing Jane to cling to him. The scent she wore made his stomach turn.
Jane Turner was the niece of the mistress his father had set up in Boville; she had been introduced to him.
He was just passing through today and had decided to stop in for a bit, not for Jane’s sake.
"Noah..."
"Don’t call me Noah. You’re not qualified." Besides his parents, no one else was allowed to address him that way!
"Noah!" Jane persisted, her voice even softer and more coquettish.
This man is a goldmine, she thought, not to mention he’s tall and devastatingly handsome—enough to make any woman swoon.
Jane had fallen for Noah at first sight. However, after meeting him once through her uncle’s arrangement and being utterly captivated, she hadn’t seen him again. His whereabouts were elusive, and he didn’t readily give out his phone number. After he left Dumbledore, she had been sick with longing. Now, months later, he had returned. How could she miss this chance to ingratiate herself with him?
"What are you reading? What’s so interesting about a book? Come on, let me take you for a walk, okay? I was born and raised in Boville; I know this place best." Jane once again leaned towards Noah and boldly glanced at the title of the book in his hand. It was *The Complete Guide to Naming*.
"I told you, don’t call me Noah!" Noah abruptly turned and seized Jane’s pale neck. His handsome face instantly turned as dark as a thundercloud as he loomed over her, glaring coldly. "Call me Noah again," he warned, "and I’ll tear you apart! You can scream ’Noah’ until you’ve had your fill!"
"No... Noah..." Jane was terrified by his actions, her face as white as paper. She desperately tried to pry his hands from her neck. His grip was strong, and she was struggling to breathe. "Help... me..."
At this moment, Jane felt an unprecedented fear. How could such a handsome man turn so hostile so suddenly? Wasn’t his name meant to be called by others? Did calling his name require qualifications?
Noah truly wanted to strangle her. Killing someone was as easy for him as crushing an ant. Plenty of women wanted to climb into his bed; some, shameless and persistent, had all felt his hands around their necks.
With a fierce shove, he sent Jane flying more than a meter away. She landed on the ground, her clothes in disarray, crying out in pain. She was unable to get up for some time.
"Throw her out. Flies are always a nuisance when they disturb the peace."
Noah showed no trace of compassion, ordering his bodyguards in a low voice.
"Yes, Young Master."
The bodyguards immediately stepped forward. Disregarding Jane’s voluptuous figure, they lifted her, carried her out of the villa, and unceremoniously dumped her by the front door. Poor Jane, tossed aside like that, felt as if all her bones were about to break. She cried out in pain, lacking even the strength to stand.
Damn Noah Reyes! she fumed silently. He doesn’t know how to treat a woman gently at all! No wonder he’s over thirty and still doesn’t have a woman. A man this brutish, even if he’s as handsome as a god, no woman would dare stay with him!
Inside the villa, Noah closed *The Complete Guide to Naming* and casually tossed the book onto the coffee table. He stood up, turned, and headed outside.
"Young Master, where are you going?" one of the bodyguards instinctively asked.
"Out!"
I don’t want to stay anywhere with such annoying women, Noah thought.
The bodyguards didn’t dare ask any more questions and followed him out.
Jane was still lying on the ground, sobbing. The servants in the villa didn’t dare help her up because Noah was still present. When Jane saw Noah emerge from the house, she immediately stopped crying, frozen by fear.
Is he coming out to kill me? she worried. My aunt said this man is unpredictable and a ruthless killer. And yet, he has the status of a prince!
Noah didn’t even glance at her. He simply walked past her and out of the villa.
