Chapter 618: Chapter 618: Silvia Baxter’s Mission (4)_1

Hansen Ruiz may not have spoiled his wife as much as Glades Horne, but he was still extremely affectionate toward Rachel Bailey. When she was wronged, he naturally became angry.

What’s wrong with my daughter again? He wanted a daughter, so what? Besides, whether it’s a boy or a girl has nothing to do with the woman. His mother is well-educated and yet holds such thoughts; that’s clearly just a concealed form of bullying Rachel Bailey.

Time and again, he had warned his mother not to bully Rachel Bailey, not to let her be insulted or aggrieved, but his mother still ignored his warnings. If that was the case, then he would give a real warning.

He was fully capable of making the entire Ruiz Family’s company his own.

Walking hastily down the stairs, Mrs. Ruiz reached the sofa, stood before Matthew Ruiz, glared at him, and asked, "Are you saying it was Hansen who sabotaged us?"

"Our investigation points to him. Ellie, did you bully Rachel again during your last trip to T City? How many times have I told you? Rachel may not have an impressive background, and she might look plain. However, Hansen likes her. As parents, we should respect his choice, not make things difficult for him or for Rachel. Look what you’ve done now! You’ve angered Hansen, turning him into an ungrateful wretch, scheming against his own family," Matthew Ruiz said, looking up at his wife with a somewhat reproachful tone.

"I didn’t bully her; she enraged me to death. I just showed my displeasure knowing that she was carrying a girl," Mrs. Ruiz felt she had been wronged this time. Every time she argued with Rachel Bailey, she lost and was infuriated by her.

"How could you be like that? What’s wrong with having a daughter? You’re making Rachel feel so aggrieved. No wonder Hansen would do such a thing. I don’t care anymore; I’m washing my hands of it. Let Hansen destroy our family’s company." Upon hearing this, Matthew Ruiz immediately became angry, realizing the root of the problem.

He snatched his suit jacket from the sofa, stood up, and turned to walk outside.

"Where are you going?" Mrs. Ruiz, too anxious to be angry, asked hastily.

Matthew Ruiz paused his steps but didn’t turn his head nor did he answer his wife’s question. He then continued walking outside.

Mrs. Ruiz stood there in shock. Her husband, who had loved her, cared for her, and spoiled her for decades, was now ignoring her.

Had she really done something wrong? Hansen was really about to destroy the very thing she valued the most! Damn it!

She sat down angrily on the sofa. She tried to call Hansen multiple times, but after typing the phone number, she stopped herself. If she called to confront her son, they might end up having a huge fight over the phone. But she was really angry.

"Floyd Thomas!" she yelled loudly.

Floyd Thomas, hearing the severe tone from outside, immediately hurried in, responding respectfully, "Madam, you called for me."

"Prepare the car. I need to go to T City immediately." She had to confront her son in person and find out what was more important to him: their family company or that country girl, Rachel Bailey! The efforts of the Ruiz Family over the last few decades, the sacrifices made by generations—how could Hansen Ruiz just squander it all? Doesn’t he consider himself a member of the Ruiz Family anymore? A descendant of the family? Furthermore, I merely expressed my dislike; I didn’t bully Rachel Bailey at all. My son’s actions in undermining me are excessive!

"Okay." Floyd Thomas saw her furious expression and didn’t dare say anything. He hurried to get the car ready.

Within moments, Mrs. Ruiz, her face aflame with rage, furiously climbed into the car and set off for T City once again. She could find a way to save those troubled branches of the company, but she knew all too well that if her son didn’t back down, any solution she came up with would be nixed by him. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

That boy, when he became ruthless, was several times more so than her.

In Golden Kirin Garden, two cars were parked on the clean concrete road, seemingly at a standoff.

The owner of the red Audi, James Horne, got out of his car and walked up to Rebecca Hughes’s car, who had returned with him. Through the car window, he coldly said, "Rebecca Hughes, I told you not to come here. Go back quickly and stop following me. You’ve been pestering me for three days straight." His first action after returning from BannatTown was naturally to go to the Horne Family home, but he hadn’t expected Rebecca Hughes to follow him there.

"Didn’t you tell me that I should come and see Julia? Now that I’m at your doorstep, it would be rude not to visit. Look, I even brought gifts: supplements for Julia and toys for the baby. I have them all. Besides, don’t say I’m following you; your car just happened to be in front of mine. I’m here to visit Julia and the baby, not to follow you home," Rebecca Hughes said, disregarding his cold demeanor and laughing cheerily. Aside from being friends with him, she was also friends with Julia. Visiting the Horne Family wasn’t just about him.

"Then let me go in first, and you can come in after," James Horne said. He was unable to outtalk her; her eloquence was something he couldn’t match. He also didn’t want his family, especially Julia, to misunderstand and think he was with Rebecca.

"Why should I? James Horne, what are you afraid of? I’m not a monster or demon." Rebecca Hughes giggled and, without heeding James Horne, stepped on the gas. She drove her car forward, overtaking his vehicle and arriving at the Horne Family villa ahead of him, entering before he could.

Watching the brazen car enter the Horne Family villa, James Horne felt a sense of defeat. He stood there for quite a while, probably about twenty minutes, before he got back into his car and drove forward.

By the time he entered the house, Rebecca Hughes had already received permission and gone upstairs to chat with Julia.

"James, you’ve returned! Where have you been, child? You were gone for months with no word, not even a single phone call. Do you know you’re an uncle now? Julia has given birth to a lovely son, who’s almost a month old. Right now, we’re all busy preparing for his full-month celebration. We haven’t decided whether to hold it at home or at the Emperor Hotel; we’re still discussing it. Your timing is perfect! Join us and help us decide," the old lady said with immense joy upon seeing James Horne return. She beckoned him to sit beside her and enthusiastically pulled him to join the others in planning where to host the baby’s full-month celebration.

James Horne glanced subtly upstairs first. He was eager to go up right then, to see Julia and that adorable nephew of his who apparently resembled him in some ways. Although they had yet to meet, he felt a surge of affection upon hearing Rebecca Hughes say his nephew looked somewhat like him. However, considering he and Julia were now brother-in-law and sister-in-law, and Julia was still in her postpartum recovery, it was inappropriate for him to visit. He had to suppress his concern and yearning.

The old lady’s words gave him an emotional anchor. His nephew’s full-month celebration was coming, and as the fourth uncle, he naturally had to help out.

The full-month celebration for the young master of the Horne Family had to be lavish and host many guests. Aside from friends and relatives of both the Horne and Wallace Families, prestigious figures from various circles were also to be invited. The Horne Family villa, though large, was still a residence and might struggle to accommodate so many guests. After much discussion, and with the agreement of Glades Horne and Julia, they decided to hold the full-month celebration for the two young masters at the most luxurious Emperor Hotel.
