Chapter 1462: The Tenth Floor - The Planet Devourer (4)

Kaizo descended from the clouds like a lightning bolt.

His fist, covered in an elegant golden and silver gauntlet, was clenched tightly, and just when the dark beam was half a meter from striking Zareth, Kaizo appeared before him and punched forward.

His fist met the beam, creating a powerful explosion.

BOOM

Zareth was pushed back, his body flying toward the dark sea.

Luckily, Elyndra was available, so she used space magic to move him toward herself.

"Are you okay?" she asked in a worried tone.

Zareth nodded, but his focus was on Kaizo, whose body was surrounded on all sides by black goo.

He was covered from head to toe, his body hidden within what Zareth knew would devour just about anyone, even an Immortal Lord if applied well.

So Kaizo being covered in it meant danger. However, his worry was dispelled when, suddenly, lightning bolts started crawling around the black goo.

That only lasted for a seconds before a thunderous explosion rocked the goo and Kaizo burst out, his body covered in golden armor.

At the same time, the void cracked in two different places.

From the first crack, Veydris stepped out, his sword glowing red and raised high. In one powerful slash, a terrifying sword arc flashed out, landing on Vorath’s side.

Then, from the second crack, a 3-meter-long arrow appeared, stabbing into Vorath’s side.

These two attacks forced out a painful, shrill cry, one that caused the space to quake. Its tendrils shot out, half going to Veydris, while the other half moved toward the new arrival, Kol.

Vexthra said this mission could only be handled by those with an understanding of the void and the ability to use Devouring Qi. Naturally, Zareth fell right into the Devouring Qi category.

Ingrid, Veydris, and Enkay were aligned with the void, while Elyndra played the counter to the void. She cannot control the void, but she has control over space, the perfect counter for the void.

However, aside from them, there were two others who fit right into the team.

Kaizo has divine lightning, a perfect counter for Devouring Qi and all forms of corruption, while Kol is a deadly void beast whose true power comes from wielding the void. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

He is also a True Immortal with 7 strands of Immortal Qi under his control.

With the kind of power he has, if he were sent alone, he would be able to finish this mission with ease. But Vexthra wanted the first five to have a taste of what it feels like fighting a True Immortal.

Kol and Kaizo followed them. However, they were instructed to join only when the battle reached its climax or when something unexpected was to happen.

Zareth’s death was the opening Veydris had been waiting for to launch the attack that would have ended the abomination.

Though it was a bit cold on Veydris’ part, it wasn’t like anyone could blame him. An undead under Kent’s command cannot die, so he made the right move.

And now, watching as Vorath is trying to push for one last desperate move, one could tell Veydris made the right call. His attack contained a divine power that is immune to corruption.

So, although he and Kol were now under a deadly assault, he knew it was only a matter of time before the abomination was dealt with.

Kaizo, however, had no time to wait, so he channeled 7% of his bloodline to end the battle. In an instant, the entire space exploded into a golden lightning domain, covering a vast stretch of the battlefield.

"Move back, everyone."

With that simple command, he leaped into the air, and when he descended, his fist went right through the gaping maw Veydris had left.

Golden lightning detonated from Kaizo’s fist the moment it plunged into the gaping maw.

The impact did not simply strike flesh—it invaded its interior like a poison.

The divine lightning coursed inward like a living thing, racing through Vorath’s rotting interior, illuminating its grotesque body from within. It was as if a bulb had been lit inside its horrible body.

For a brief second, the bloated abomination became translucent, its countless veins and corrupted channels exposed in flashing gold.

The lightning was evading its interior, and from how it was twitching, there is just no way it could survive much longer.

However, it wasn’t going down without a fight.

Suddenly, the sea exploded.

A pillar of necrotic water shot upward as Vorath convulsed violently, its tendrils thrashing in chaotic desperation.

Ingrid, who had managed to free herself from its hold, was struck back, flying toward the black sea. Thankfully, Veydris knew who to save and who to let die.

Ingrid is more important than Zareth, so he moved through the unstable void and caught her before she could slam into the water, which then would have been too late for her.

The necrotic water is a poison that cannot be taken lightly. Zareth even plan on taking a sample for Kent.

Kaizo poured more essence into his domain, causing it to crackle and expand, each bolt acting like a cleansing blade, burning away the floating droplets of Necrotic Qi before they could condense again.

He did not retreat. He knew this was the winning attack, so he pressed forward.

In one desperate move, he roared, channeling more divine lightning into his gauntlet as his fist drove deeper.

Vorath also pushed forward forcing more necrotic essense to fill the air. However, his lightning armor around him flared brighter, resisting the devouring corruption that tried to crawl back into his arm.

At the same time, Kol moved.

The void around him did not crack like when Ingrid and the others used it. To him, given how deep his understanding went, there was just no way he would find it difficult to use the void.

With a single step, he phased through the incoming tendrils and reappeared directly above Vorath’s swollen body.

Three strands of Immortal Qi moved along his arm as his bow was aimed right at the wound his first arrow left. A thick arrow formed, and the Immortal Qi augmented it, causing the void to crack at its tip.

"The end."

He fired the arrow, and it went right through Vorath and came out from the other side.

Without any delay, he moved and grabbed Kaizo by the hand, and they both vanished into the void. Elyndra didn’t know why Kol did that, but she also used space magic to move Enkay, who happened to be the closest to Vorath.

Just as she did, Vorath’s colossal body expanded, and boom, it exploded.

The shockwave from the explosion blasted everyone back. However, before some of them could lose their balance and fall into the harrowing, black, corrupted water, Kol appeared from the void and created channels for them.

In an instant, aside from him, all six teammates vanished into the void, appearing on the other side of the river where Axiom and the others were waiting for them.

Kol only attacked becaure he saw what Kaizo did when he channeled his lightning into the beast’s body.

That gave him the idea of how to kill Vorath. When Kaizo’s lightning illuminated the creature, it reacted violently.

It was clear that no matter how many injuries they left on its body, it would always heal. So killing it from the inside was the only way.

The arrow was used to carry the Immortal Qi into its body. The rest was merely him exploding his own Immortal Qi.

While it would take a couple of days to recover, exploding it was the only way they could kill the abomination. It worked as expected, and with the synergy between him and Axiom, he managed to save his teammates from being pushed into the corrupted water.

He scanned the area, and with a wave, a basketball-sized core flew from the water and landed on his palm. Then, with a step forward, he vanished into the void, appearing on the shore.
