Live Strong in the Wilderness-Chapter 323: Zhou Mo Arrives
After dinner, Lu Ke finished washing the dishes, took a bath, and went to chat with Wang Jin.
Although Xu Yi didn’t understand why they always had so much to talk about, he didn’t mind at all.
After all, this meant he could rightfully return to his room for Spiritual Meditation.
Moreover, as the century day approached, everyone’s stress would increase, and chatting to relieve some of it was pretty good.
Late at night, when Lu Ke returned, she found Xu Yi already asleep.
Squatting by the bed and watching Xu Yi for a while, Lu Ke slowly took off her fur coat and snuggled into the covers.
She wondered whether she should sleep with Wang Jin and Lu Yao once they collaborated.
After all, she and Xu Yi were not a couple.
Sleeping together didn’t feel odd without others around.
But it would be different if others were present.
The two of them had been sharing a bed for nearly a hundred days; if she didn’t feel anything, Lu Ke felt she’d be deceiving herself.
But to say she really liked Xu Yi, loved Xu Yi?
Lu Ke felt she hadn’t reached that level, or rather, she didn’t have that kind of urge towards Xu Yi.
Wang Jin had told her that liking someone always brought urges, the urge to be close.
Urges like holding hands, hugging, kissing.
Lu Ke hadn’t noticed any such urges in herself.
Not only did she lack them, but she felt Xu Yi didn’t have the slightest bit either.
Regarding Xu Yi, she just felt comfortable, peaceful, and safe staying beside him. As for urges, there weren’t any at all.
Therefore, she couldn’t quite understand her feelings towards Xu Yi.
However, she wasn’t in a hurry to figure it out. After all, there were still 400 days left, enough time to slowly clarify her feelings toward Xu Yi.
If she actually liked Xu Yi, even if she risked being rejected, Lu Ke would confess right away.
She knew Xu Yi liked Su Yan, but Wang Jin had said that men are creatures most susceptible to long-term emotions, perhaps Xu Yi might soon forget Su Yan.
Lu Ke didn’t quite agree with that.
Xu Yi’s personality was one of those that once decided, persisted to the end; if he truly liked Su Yan, he would continue liking her.
But if his feelings were superficial, then it was hard to say.
After these random thoughts, Lu Ke closed her eyes and went to sleep. She had an early training session tomorrow, and she planned to learn some close combat skills from Lu Yao.
Although dealing with people and beasts was different, Lu Ke felt it was still worth learning. Nobody knew what the situation would be a hundred days later.
A night of sweet dreams, Lu Ke woke up on time the next morning.
Getting dressed, Lu Ke went directly downstairs.
Soon, Xu Yi opened his eyes.
"System, check in."
Today marked the 102nd day of checking in.
Only three days remained until the century-day challenge.
The countdown days were indeed hard to get through, bringing a sense of torment. The closer the time got, the more intense the feeling of torment became.
Checking in ended, Xu Yi got up to practice Body Refining Technique.
After two rounds, Xu Yi went downstairs to train with Lu Ke and Wang Jin.
Although somewhat monotonous, something needed to be done every day, and only by persisting would the results become more obvious.
After training, each person had breakfast, and then Wang Jin and Lu Yao went back to move the last batch of stuff, while Xu Yi and Lu Ke set out for hunting.
This time, Xu Yi and Lu Ke didn’t encounter any beasts, not even a small animal.
The whole forest was quiet, as if there had never been any animals.
Making a round, Xu Yi and Lu Ke returned to the camp.
At the camp, they found Wang Jin and Lu Yao were not there. However, there was writing on the ground saying they went hunting. Clearly, they had finished moving their things and didn’t want to stay idle at the camp, so they went out to try their luck.
"Xu Yi, do you think that father-son pair will move in, as well as those brothers?" Lu Ke asked, then continued, "How should we inform Zhou Mo and the others?"
"Just tell them directly; after all, we didn’t formally agree with Zhou Chun and Zhou Mo, they should be aware of it." Xu Yi straightforwardly replied; initially, to prevent accidents, he hadn’t formally agreed with the Zhou Family father-son pair.
If they really came over, Xu Yi could directly tell them he had chosen other partners.
"Okay, that sounds reasonable." Lu Ke nodded. Xu Yi made the decisions for big matters, and she just supported from behind.
"Someone’s coming." Suddenly glancing towards the forest direction because of a sound.
Soon, Giant Ha became restless.
Soon, a figure appeared before Xu Yi and Lu Ke.
Zhou Mo arrived on horseback, riding a black wild horse. He also led two brown wild horses.
"Brother Xu, Sister Lu." Zhou Mo called sweetly after dismounting.
The other group came over too; it’s just right, if you agree to cooperate with us, you can go to our camp with me. My dad is still crafting weapons there." Zhou Mo smiled, his intention today was to inform Xu Yi and Lu Ke to bring their things to their camp.
After all, they had mined quite a bit of iron ore, and the camp here was quite far away; moving Xu Yi and his group over was easier. Plus, he brought along two horses that could carry quite a few things.
"Sorry, it was a wasted trip; we have other choices, apologies." Xu Yi straightforwardly said.
Zhou Mo was taken aback, then scratched his head, and awkwardly said, "No matter, there will still be opportunities for cooperation in the future, right Brother Xu?"
"Exactly, although we can’t team up, we can still form alliances. At the very least, we can trade." Xu Yi smiled, aware that Zhou Chun likely told Zhou Mo about the possibility of refusing to team up.
"Alright, we’re relieved then. I won’t stay long." Saying this, Zhou Mo got back on his horse and turned away.
Watching Zhou Mo’s figure move away, Lu Ke wrinkled her nose and remarked, "Seems they already guessed it."
"Naturally, given how sought-after we are." Xu Yi said with a deliberately proud tone, though he felt no pride inside.
Without the system’s assistance, if compared to others, he might still lag behind.
"Don’t know when those brothers will return; after today, there will only be two days left." Lu Ke glanced into the forest, curiously saying.
After all, she hadn’t interacted much with Qin Fan and Qin Chao, and hoped they would appear sooner so everyone could get along.
