Pregnant During An Apocalypse [BL]-Chapter 161 - Pregnant
Chapter 161: Chapter 161 - Pregnant
Yunfeng watched as Muchen ate the small piece of bread, his hunger evident in the way he tore into it, yet he still maintained a kind of refined elegance.
The way his fingers delicately held the edges, the careful way he chewed.
Yunfeng admired that familiar face that he missed so much.
Once Muchen finished, he wiped his mouth clean with the back of his hand and met Yunfeng’s gaze directly.
"So... where were we?"
Before Yunfeng could respond, Muchen suddenly stood up. His movements were smooth but deliberate, and Yunfeng watched as he walked over to a nearby pile of discarded cardboard. Without hesitation, he bent down and tore off a large piece with surprising strength. The rough sound of ripping echoed in the quiet room.
Yunfeng frowned, puzzled. "Muchen, what are you—What do you want to do? Let me help you."
"No no," Muchen asked, rolling the cardboard tightly in his hands. His voice was light, almost too light.
Yunfeng blinked. "No, let me—"
Muchen turned back to him with a strange smile. It sent a shiver down Yunfeng’s spine.
"Now, Yunfeng..." The warmth disappeared from his face, replaced by a dark glare. "You dared to run away from me, huh?"
The rolled-up cardboard now resembled a makeshift club.
Yunfeng immediately took a step back, his instincts warning him. "I... I can explain...!"
Muchen took a step forward, tilting his head. "Oh? I’d very much like to hear that~"
Before Yunfeng could escape, whack!
"Oww!"
The cardboard smacked against his backside, making him jump.
Yunfeng spun around in panic. "Muchen... I—!"
"Shut up!" Muchen snapped, chasing after him with the cardboard in hand. "How dare you run away from me! Why did you leave?! Were you bored of me?! Huh?! Did you think I was too old for you?!"
Yunfeng yelped and dodged another swing, scrambling backward. "It wasn’t like that—!"
"Then what was it?!" Muchen chased after him.
The makeshift cardboard weapon struck his backside once more, the dull thwack echoing in the quiet space.
"I have my reasons!" Yunfeng shouted, darting away, but Muchen was relentless.
"What reason, ah?!" Muchen growled, chasing him.
Yunfeng barely made it two steps before Muchen lunged forward, grabbing his collar and yanking him back with surprising strength. The air left Yunfeng’s lungs as he was pulled into Muchen’s arms—no, Muchen’s wrath.
Another smack.
This time, Yunfeng caught the incoming strike, his fingers closing around Muchen’s wrist.
Muchen’s breathing was ragged, his chest heaving with anger, but Yunfeng could see the pain swirling in his red-rimmed eyes.
"It’s... it might sound unbelievable..." Yunfeng hesitated, his throat suddenly dry.
Muchen’s expression twisted. Tears welled in his eyes, making them shine in the dim light. His lips trembled before he finally whispered, "Was I too progressive in the relationship? Is that why you left?"
Yunfeng’s stomach plummeted.
Muchen’s voice cracked as he continued, his grip loosening slightly. "I... I shouldn’t have let you do that to me that day... was that the reason? Did I push you too far?"
Silent tears rolled down his face.
Yunfeng’s heart clenched so painfully that he felt like he couldn’t breathe.
"Muchen..."
He didn’t think. His body moved on instinct as he pulled Muchen into his arms, holding him close, pressing his face into his shoulder.
Muchen struggled, his fingers clenching into fists against Yunfeng’s chest. "Let go...!" His voice was raw, thick with unshed emotions.
Yunfeng only held him tighter.
"How dare you do this to me?" Muchen choked out, his voice muffled. "I searched for you for a month... I couldn’t find even a trace of you. I thought you were dead!"
His whole body trembled as he gasped, "Was I that bad in bed that you ran away?"
Yunfeng felt something inside him snap.
"No—!" His voice was hoarse, his grip tightening. "No, it’s not that! You... you are amazing—"
Muchen suddenly shoved him back, eyes wild with anguish. "Then why?! Why did you leave me?!"
Yunfeng’s breath came out shaky, his hands trembling as he reached for Muchen again but hesitated. He clenched his fists, his nails digging into his palms.
How could he explain it?
How could he tell Muchen the truth without sounding insane?
But looking into Muchen’s tear-streaked face, seeing the raw vulnerability, the pain—he knew he had no choice.
He took a deep breath.
"Muchen..." His voice was quiet, but firm.
"Because... Because I’m pregnant," he whispered, the confession slipping out like a fragile secret.
Mucheng’s breath hitched. His red-rimmed eyes, still wet with tears of anger and betrayal, widened just a fraction. For a second, the rage flickered, replaced by something unreadable.
Yunfeng swallowed hard, his voice trembling. "I tried telling you on so many occasions, but you kept saying that... that you hate kids." A strained sob broke free from his chest, his shoulders shaking. "I didn’t want to abort it... It’s your baby, Mucheng. How could I do that?"
His fingers curled into the fabric of his shirt, pressing lightly against the still-flat plane of his stomach. The truth was a living thing inside him, growing, undeniable.
"I got scared. So I left."
The admission hung between them, raw and aching. Yunfeng dared to lift his gaze, meeting Mucheng’s stunned silence. "I love you so much that it hurt me physically. I couldn’t sleep... I couldn’t eat. I just... I just wanted you."
Mucheng’s lips parted, but no sound came out. His hand, still clenched at his side, twitched as if fighting the urge to reach out.
Yunfeng couldn’t stop now. He stepped forward, his own tears spilling over as he grabbed Mucheng’s wrist, pressing his palm firmly against his stomach.
"It’s your child in here."
A sharp gasp rippled through the onlookers. Hana’s hand flew to her mouth, her eyes darting between them in disbelief. Shoa’s jaw tightened, his earlier smugness replaced by something darker—something like dread.
But Mucheng—Mucheng just stared.
Then, like a dam breaking, he let out a sharp, humorless laugh.
"Oh, you’re hilarious," he sneered, yanking his hand back as if burned. His voice was laced with venom, his lips twisting into a bitter smile. "You’re pregnant? How might that be, huh?"
Yunfeng flinched, his heart hammering. "It’s because of that night..." he whispered, voice breaking. "This baby was formed that night."
Mucheng barked out another laugh, this one louder, harsher. "Fuck... Fucking hell..." He dragged a hand through his hair, his breaths coming in short, erratic bursts. Then, without warning, his expression twisted into something furious.
"How did you get pregnant, huh?" he spat, stepping forward until they were nearly nose to nose. His voice dropped to a dangerous whisper, trembling with barely restrained rage. "When you were the one fucking me. Are you a fucking seahorse? Did you take the child from my belly, huh?"
Yunfeng just gaped at him, his lips slightly parted in disbelief. "Huh..."
Muchen stepped closer, his hands trembling as they grabbed Yunfeng’s collar, yanking him forward with an intensity that sent Yunfeng stumbling slightly.
"You fucked me," Muchen hissed, his breath coming out uneven. "So how the hell are you pregnant?"
Yunfeng felt his entire world tilt. The air between them crackled with tension, his mind blanking out at Muchen’s words. "That can’t be..." His voice barely escaped as a whisper. His stomach felt hollow, his limbs numb.
Muchen just peered up at him, unblinking. His hands loosened their grip, falling limply at his sides. His chest rose and fell sharply, as if he were struggling to breathe. "You... You remember that night, don’t you?"
Yunfeng opened his mouth, but nothing came out. His throat was dry, his thoughts spinning. "I... I..."
And then Muchen staggered back, running a hand through his disheveled hair before gripping it tightly as if trying to keep himself from spiraling. His face paled. His pupils shrank. And when he finally looked back at Yunfeng, his expression was nothing short of horrified.
"Oh my fucking god." Muchen’s voice was hoarse, almost too quiet at first, but then it rose—sharp, near hysterical. "I—I can’t believe this. I’m the one who’s pregnant!!"
"Huh..." Yunfeng blinked, completely thrown. He stared at Muchen as if he had just spoken in an entirely different language.
The room fell into complete, stunned silence.
Everyone who had been watching the drama unfold froze. Hana’s jaw practically hit the floor. Shoa, who had been standing beside her, slowly turned his wide eyes toward her as if questioning reality itself. She could only shake her head vigorously, shrugging helplessly. ’I have no idea what’s happening either.’
"No, I’m the omega... I’m the one who’s pregnant...." Yunfeng whispered.
"You!! How could you be pregnant! I’m telling you clearly it’s me! I’m the one who’s pregnant!"
"Muchen, you’re an alpha—that’s impossible."
"What the fuck are you going on about now."
Yunfeng stepped close. "You’re the alpha and I’m the omega. You see, omegas develop a small pouch-like organ that can hold a baby safely to term." He reached for his hand. "Alphas... they just contribute to the pregnancy."
Muchen just gaped up at him. "God, I’m in love with a lunatic."
