Pokemon : Rewind-Chapter 466 - 54: Blissey
Chapter 466 - 54: Blissey
Clefable's defeat visibly affected Whitney, but she quickly composed herself. With determination in her eyes, she returned Clefable to its Poké Ball and grabbed another one from her belt.
"Go, Blissey!" she called, tossing the ball onto the battlefield.
As the white light dissipated, a large, egg-shaped Pokémon emerged, standing about 1.5 meters tall. Its upper body was pink, while the lower half was white.
Curly hair adorned its head, and delicate wing-like appendages connected its arms to its body. A soft, cream-colored egg sat nestled in a pouch on its stomach.
Blissey – the Happiness Pokémon.

Ash's eyes narrowed. So, it's a Blissey with the Serene Grace ability, he noted. This ability doubled the chance of secondary effects occurring with moves, making Blissey an even more formidable opponent.
Blissey was known for its incredible bulk, boasting the highest Special Defense and HP stats among all known Pokémon.
While Haunter excelled in special attacks, its advantage against Blissey was limited to its Poison-typing. Even with that edge, defeating Blissey would be no easy feat.
---
"Blissey, use Flamethrower!" Whitney commanded.
"Bliss–sey!" Blissey's clear, bell-like cry echoed through the arena. Flames swirled in its mouth before bursting forth in a blazing stream of Fire-type energy.
"Haunter, Phantom Force!" Ash countered.
Haunter let out its signature eerie chuckle as Ghost-type energy enveloped its body, opening a portal to another dimension. It slipped into the void, disappearing just before the flames could connect.
The Flamethrower passed harmlessly through the space where Haunter had been moments before, leaving Whitney puzzled.
---
"Normal-type moves can't hit Ghost-types, and Ghost-type moves are ineffective against Normal-types. What's Ash planning?" Whitney muttered, her brows furrowing.
The battlefield grew tense as Haunter stayed hidden in the alternate dimension for what felt like an eternity. Seconds turned into nearly a full minute, yet there was no sign of the Ghost Pokémon.
Ash, however, remained patient. He knew that maintaining focus for an extended period was difficult for any trainer or Pokémon. The moment Whitney or Blissey let their guard down, he would strike decisively.
Whitney's unease grew with each passing second. The uncertainty of Haunter's location and its potential moves began to weigh on her, and even Blissey, ever cheerful, started to show signs of agitation.
Ash's sharp eyes noticed their growing frustration. Seizing the moment, he shouted, "Haunter, now! Use Hypnosis!"
---
A black portal suddenly materialized right in front of Blissey, mere centimeters away. Haunter emerged with a mischievous laugh, its glowing eyes radiating Psychic-type energy as it unleashed Hypnosis.
Blissey flinched in surprise, unable to react in time. The rippling waves of energy washed over it, sapping its will to stay awake.
Despite its natural resilience, Blissey swayed unsteadily before collapsing onto the ground, sound asleep.
"Blissey!" Whitney cried out in shock. Despite her vigilance, Haunter's surprise attack had been perfectly executed.
---
Ash wasted no time. "Haunter, use Dream Eater!"
Haunter's eyes glowed brightly as it tapped into the dream energy of the slumbering Blissey.
The Psychic-type move not only dealt significant damage to its opponent but also restored Haunter's energy.
Three consecutive Dream Eater attacks left Blissey severely weakened. Even its legendary endurance couldn't withstand the repeated assaults. Meanwhile, Haunter looked revitalized, its earlier fatigue completely erased.
"Blissey, wake up!" Whitney pleaded. She knew that if Blissey could recover, it might still turn the battle around with its recovery move, Soft-Boiled.
Blissey stirred slightly but remained asleep, leaving Whitney desperate.
---
Ash wasn't about to give Whitney any opportunity for a comeback. "Haunter, use Sucker Punch!"
Haunter doesn't normally excel in physical attacks, Whitney thought, her fists clenching. Why use a physical move now?
The answer became clear as dark energy swirled around Haunter's fists. Sucker Punch, a Dark-type priority move, would hit Blissey hard before it could make a move.
Haunter moved swiftly, delivering a powerful blow to Blissey's back. The impact was so strong that the ground beneath Blissey cracked, forming a small crater.
The force jolted Blissey awake, but it was now critically weakened, its strength barely enough to stand.
---
"Blissey, use Soft-Boiled!" Whitney ordered, her voice filled with determination.
Blissey reached into its pouch, pulling out the soft, cream-colored egg. It prepared to crack the egg and restore its health.
"Not so fast!" Ash interrupted. "Haunter, finish it with Aerial Ace-Sucker Punch Combination!"
Haunter's form blurred, and it seemed as though three Haunters had appeared simultaneously.
Each one launched a Sucker Punch from different angles, surrounding Blissey completely. The blows landed in quick succession, delivering a devastating impact.
Blissey let out a pained cry before collapsing onto the ground, unable to continue.
---
"Blissey is unable to battle! Haunter wins!" the referee announced.
The crowd erupted into applause, their cheers echoing throughout the gym.
Whitney sighed, her frustration giving way to admiration. "You're incredible, Ash. You not only predicted my moves but executed your strategy perfectly. I can see why you've made it so far."
Ash smiled, returning Haunter to its Poké Ball. "You're a tough opponent, Whitney. Let's see what your next Pokémon has in store."
The battle was far from over, but Ash's commanding performance had already left a lasting impression on everyone watching.
