Playboy: Medical and Martial Master-Chapter 310 - 309: Deep Within the Swamp
This intense battle of one dragon against two phoenixes lasted for nearly three hours before it finally subsided.
It wasn't until Bai Ran and Lv Xin were utterly exhausted, their skin flushed pink and thoroughly satisfied, that they began to plead for mercy, prompting Sun Zhe to finally call a ceasefire.
After their ordeal, the two women clung to each other and fell into a deep sleep on the hay that had been laid out.
Sun Zhe added a few more logs to the bonfire, then sat cross-legged beside the women. He began to circulate his energy to absorb the Yin Essence he had gained from the battle. Only after he had suppressed the rampaging Ice and Fire True Qi within his body did he lie down to sleep.
「The next morning.」
Sun Zhe woke leisurely to find the two women squatting by the bonfire, grilling fish.
"Where did you two get fish?"
Lv Xin pointed into the distance. "There's a small creek over there, and it's teeming with them."
As she spoke, she handed a large, grilled catfish to Sun Zhe. "Here, this is to help you recover. After expending so many of your 'little tadpoles' last night, you definitely need to eat plenty of protein."
Sun Zhe took the grilled fish with a strange expression. "A stud like me needs to recover?"
Lv Xin giggled and linked her arm with his. "Of course you do. Come on, eat! I grilled this just for you."
Unlike yesterday's awkwardness and shyness, Lv Xin now felt like a considerate girlfriend to Sun Zhe. She was gentle, attentive, and even a little clingy.
As expected, once a woman is thoroughly satisfied, she becomes a docile little lamb.
After Sun Zhe had devoured several grilled fish, Bai Ran asked with concern, "How do you feel?"
Sun Zhe smiled, standing up to stretch his muscles. "You're both very tight, but in different ways."
Hearing Sun Zhe's crude remark, both women fell silent.
Unaware of the impending danger, he continued, "Bai Ran's is gripping, while Lv Xin's is scraping."
"Go to hell!"
"Making crude jokes first thing in the morning!"
With indignant cries, the two women scrambled to their feet and pounced on him, pinning him to the hay for a round of sweet pummelling.
After a bit of playful scuffling, Sun Zhe held the two women and said seriously, "We'll stick to last night's plan. You two wait here for me. I'll fly in first and check out the situation."
Bai Ran warned him, "You have to be careful. This place is no joke."
Sun Zhe nodded. "You have plenty of AKs, and we're on the outskirts. As long as you two are cautious, you shouldn't run into any trouble."
"When will you be back?" Lv Xin asked. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"I'm not sure," Sun Zhe said, shaking his head. "If I'm not back by tonight, you two need to retreat immediately and leave Celestial Prison Mountain."
He looked at Bai Ran. "With your abilities, leaving Celestial Prison Mountain shouldn't be too difficult."
After giving the two women a series of instructions and warnings, Sun Zhe activated his Yin Yang Wings and soared into the sky as they watched him go.
"Ah Zhe, you have to come back soon!"
"You hear me?"
「In the sky.」
Sun Zhe spread his wings and glided, looking down only to see a vast expanse of hazy white fog with nothing else visible. Only by looking back could he make out the silhouette of the mountain ridges he had come from. For a moment, he felt the surreal sensation of flying high above a boundless sea of clouds.
To see what lay within the marshland, he had to fly lower and activate his Yin Yang X-ray Vision.
As he activated his special sight, the dense, rolling white fog seemed to vanish before his eyes. He could see that the endless marshland was crisscrossed by rivers, dotted with countless swamp pits of all sizes. Animal skeletons were scattered everywhere, and he could occasionally spot large pythons slithering in the pits.
The fossilized bones of massive beasts, which had existed for who knew how many eons, jutted from the ground like small mountain peaks. They came in all sorts of strange and shocking shapes.
After observing for a while, Sun Zhe suddenly accelerated and shot toward the higher altitudes, pushing his speed to its absolute limit.
He had no idea how fast he was going. He only knew that at full speed, the air produced deafening sonic booms, just like a fighter jet taking off. The fierce gales distorted his face and made his eyes stream with tears. He couldn't even close his mouth, giving him the comical appearance of a laughing gorilla.
Alternating between fast and slow speeds, Sun Zhe flew for a full half-hour.
Finally feeling his strength wane, he slowed down and began to glide gradually toward the ground.
"SQUAWK—!"
Just as he was decelerating, a piercing, strange cry suddenly erupted from within the thick, swirling white fog.
I've been targeted as prey all along, and the predator was just waiting for this exact moment when I slowed down!
He had barely registered the thought when an enormous black bird, the size of a mammoth, swooped down on him. In that fleeting moment, he got a clear look at it. It was powerfully built, with a wingspan of at least ten meters that resembled a bat's. Its two sharp talons glinted with a cold, sharp light, looking just like steel hooks.
Damn it!
Sun Zhe cursed internally. Knowing that an aerial battle would be disadvantageous, he twisted his body to dodge the massive bird's attack and dove toward the ground, landing with a thunderous crash.
He had hardly steadied himself when the great black bird wheeled around and plunged from the sky, swooping down on him like an eagle hunting a rabbit at an incredible speed.
Daring not to hesitate, Sun Zhe immediately rolled across the ground to evade the attack.
Having missed its target, the black bird let out a strange, angry squawk and circled back once more.
Sun Zhe roared in frustration, his patience gone. Lightning erupted from his body as he threw a punch.
"Go to hell!"
A destructive torrent of wild lightning surged forth with his fist, obliterating everything in its path.
The massive black bird shrieked miserably as it was electrocuted. It crashed to the ground, where it struggled for a moment before scrambling to its feet and fleeing in a panic. Its two large feet hopped and skipped across the ground, making it look like a pathetic, flightless chicken.
Sun Zhe let out a long sigh of relief, then started running to find a place to hide. He was now deeply grateful he hadn't brought Bai Ran and Lv Xin with him. That black bird's attack power was on par with the red snake from before.
This is undoubtedly a Jiao Beast with several hundred years of cultivation!
Before long, Sun Zhe found a patch of reeds to hide in. He sat down cross-legged, swallowed a Qi Passage Pill, and began to urgently recover his True Qi. After flying nonstop for half an hour, his True Qi was almost completely depleted.
If that big black bird finds me again while I'm low on True Qi, I'm definitely a goner. My only advantage against it is my True Qi Thunder Transformation, so restoring my True Qi is the top priority right now. Even the best car is useless without gas!
「An unknown amount of time passed.」
"Help! Is anyone there? Help!"
Suddenly, Sun Zhe heard faint cries for help from the distance, mingled with harsh bird calls.
He grew alert, his brow furrowing. That sounds like the black bird from before. Could the herb-gathering team have been targeted by it?
At this thought, Sun Zhe didn't dare to delay. He immediately got up and activated Witch's Step, his body blurring into a series of afterimages as he raced toward the source of the sound.
Unexpectedly, just as he left the reeds, a barrel-thick boa lunged at him. It had apparently been lying in wait.
"Get lost!" Sun Zhe roared, throwing a punch as thunderbolts surged forth.
The electrocuted boa thrashed wildly like a loach on dry land, its body smoking. It was a tragic sight.
But Sun Zhe was too intent on saving the person in distress to admire his handiwork. He leaped forward, landed on the boa's body, and used the momentum to launch himself again, clearing the swamp pit and sprinting toward the cries for help.
A moment later, Sun Zhe finally reached the source of the sound and slowed his pace. Peering through the dense white fog, he was stunned to see the fossilized skull of a massive beast ahead. It was as large as a house.
An old banyan tree grew atop the giant skull, and nestled in its branches was a colossal bird's nest.
Inside the nest, the same huge black bird he had driven away earlier was squawking madly as it furiously pecked at two living people.
