Pampered By My Fake Boyfriend's Brother-Chapter 537: Ambulance
When An Yin looked up, she noticed that all the eyes around her were focused on her. Her heart pounded violently as if it were about to leap out of her chest.
"Oh my, what’s wrong with you, young lady? Aren’t you watching where you’re going at such a young age?" The lady shot a glaring look at the young girl, complaining incessantly.
At this moment, a nearby salesperson who was quick to react hurried forward to assist, but the lady waved her hand, "Don’t touch me, call an ambulance, my back hurts."
The salespeople around her stopped mid-reach, afraid of getting themselves into trouble. Now that a young girl was taking the blame, naturally, no one else dared to step forward.
Then the manager approached, bowed, and said, "I’ll make the call for you."
An Yin stood nearby, completely at a loss about what to do.
The lady looked at the pale face of the young girl and said arrogantly, "Young lady, don’t leave, this is your fault, you have to take responsibility."
"I..." An Yin mumbled as everyone pointed at her, "I’m sorry..."
"What’s wrong with you, young lady? What’s the use of a mere apology? You’re coming with me in the ambulance later, don’t think of running away." The lady, seeing that the young girl couldn’t speak a word for a long time, became a bit anxious, and her tone was obviously harsh.
"I-I won’t leave," An Yin hastily promised.
"Hmph." The lady then propped herself up to adjust her sitting posture, sitting on the ground in an unruly manner.
The onlookers who had gathered around saw that the young girl was completely being controlled and lost interest in the spectacle, leaving one by one.
The lady’s friends saw this scene and didn’t say a word, knowing well the lady’s character, who liked to take advantage. Even though the lady seemed perfectly fine, she clung to the young girl. What could they do?
Mrs. Su was also among the ladies, and when she realized the bullied young girl was An Ying’s daughter, she was shocked, yet eagerly awaited the outcome. When she saw the young girl with a face that could almost cry but shed no tears, she felt utterly pleased.
All her resentment towards An Ying transferred to this young girl in front of her.
Mrs. Su thought of how her younger son was utterly mesmerized and irrational because of her, growing more indignant.
Her pride and joy, her younger son had hoped to focus on his studies abroad and forget the young girl, yet he kept trying to find news about her for months, thinking he hid it well, unaware that Mrs. Su knew it all.
Mrs. Su couldn’t swallow this anger; she so despised An Ying, only to find her beloved son captivated by An Ying’s daughter.
Mrs. Su stood behind several women, observing the young girl’s helpless manner, gaining some comfort in her heart.
Just then, medical personnel arrived, and the crowd automatically stepped back to make a path. After some inquiries, the lady was carried away, with An Yin obediently following behind.
Before leaving, the lady looked at her friends and reminded them, "Take your time shopping, let’s meet again next time."
The friends, "?" Sister, is now really the time for that?
The gossiping salespeople, "!" Hope the young girl doesn’t get exploited too badly.
During the ambulance ride, An Yin’s mind was still replaying the events just now. She remembered she was walking normally, so how did she bump into someone? 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"Oh, my back..." The lady lay in the cramped vehicle, surrounded by the unpleasant smell of antiseptic. Each breath felt suffocating, making her quite vexed. But considering her situation, she couldn’t vent her feelings.
"Ma’am, hold on a bit, we’ll be at the hospital soon," the paramedic beside her encouraged.
The lady cried out again and then paused. Then, she turned her gaze to the young girl, "What’s your name? How old are you? Where do you study? If you don’t have money, just call your parents; you have to take full responsibility for this."
The lady’s energy and spirit were surprisingly good, even the paramedics found it unbelievable, a ridiculous idea even occurred to them; could she be pretending to scam the young girl?
However, considering the lady’s attire, the paramedics quickly dismissed the thought.
An Yin looked up at the unfamiliar lady before her, "My name is An Yin, I’m 21 years old, currently a junior in college."
"Do you want to handle this yourself? Or call your parents?" the lady pursued further.
"I’ll handle it myself," a glint of determination flashed in An Yin’s eyes. With Ms. An still in recovery, she’d rather not let her worry about this.
"Are you sure?" The lady glanced at the young girl from head to toe, panicking upon finding no brand-name clothing.
"Yes." An Yin nodded.
Seeing the young girl’s stubborn face, the lady said no more.
After arriving at the nearby City Hospital, the lady was taken to the emergency room, immediately followed by the billing process. The nurse following behind An Yin urged her about the payment, and An Yin glanced at her WeChat account. The last of her money was used up, leaving only a few dozen yuan, which wasn’t nearly enough.
The remaining cash was in her dorm room.
An Yin opened her contact list and brightened when she reached the name "Bao Shaojin," but she quickly dismissed the idea, not wanting the man to think of her as a burden every time she faced a problem.
An Yin turned to the nurse behind her, "Hello, can I go back to the school to get the money?"
"That lady needs someone to watch over her," the nurse, seeing the troubled look on the young girl’s face, began offering suggestions, "You can have someone bring the money over for you."
Have someone help?
"Okay, thank you," An Yin said to the nurse.
Then, she went to a secluded stairwell and called Shi Qing.
Once the call connected, she explained the situation and told Shi Qing where she had stashed the money. Shi Qing simply replied, "See you in half an hour," before hanging up.
Afterward, she returned to the ER waiting outside for the lady’s examination results.
Recalling the lady’s cry of pain as she fell, An Yin felt uneasy, worried that something might be wrong with her.
The waiting was excruciating. Once Shi Qing arrived, An Yin headed directly to the payment hall, where Shi Qing was already waiting.
From a distance, she saw Shi Qing’s silhouette, and her anxious heart eased a bit, "Shi Qing!" she called out.
The hall was crowded with people everywhere.
The registration windows were packed, mostly with elderly folks; younger people had long registered through their phones.
Shi Qing held a paper shopping bag in hand with An Yin’s money inside. Once they got close, Shi Qing handed over the bag, "It’s all in here." With people all around, Shi Qing spoke cryptically.
