Overpowered Wizard-Chapter B4 Ch8: Foodie and Jack
Foodie was having a celebratory make-out session with her boyfriend in their room in the continental artillery tower. She was having a blast while he couldn’t breathe, but then she felt the presence of her mother.
For a moment, the Level 100 Abomination Cook thought about stopping. But she was at the part where Wallen would get flustered and red in the face while doing his best to last longer than their previous session.
For this once, Foodie made her mother wait.
She held Wallen against the wall, up on his tippy toes, which was easier for her now that she was several inches taller than him. He tried to wrestle with as much Strength as the Bug Alchemist could muster, but he was obviously failing.
As civilized and organized as Princess Foodie Darkrun could act, there were certain goblin sensibilities that flowed continuously through her veins.
What goblin didn’t love it when her ‘prey’ kept struggling and fighting in vain while too weak to stop her?
They had a signal for safety just in case Foodie was on the verge of going too far, and they’d discussed plenty of times how Wallen should not be afraid to signal her when she was seriously hurting him.
But the signal wasn’t coming, so Foodie kept her pillowy and wide lips on Wallen’s mouth, her tongue down his throat, her sharpened teeth nibbling with enough pressure to threaten to draw blood. And only when his eyes were nearly rolling back did she back off and let him collapse to the floor of their kitchen.
She licked her lips sensuously, like she had eaten another delicious meal, and stood over him, soaking in the moment as he desperately drew breath.
“Mother is reaching out to me. I’m going to find Amabel to have a chat,” Foodie said, as if Wallen wasn’t still lying on the floor, heaving, his vitality fixing some of the damage from casual asphyxiation.
She smiled a goblin smile at the mess she made of him, poking him in the face with her toes. “Keep it up, and we’ll get you some more points in Willpower and Strength for sure.”
Wallen blinked his vision clear and looked up past his girlfriend’s foot. “I thought the scariest part of courting you would be your father. I didn’t realize that was a trick. Foodie, my dear, you’re a monster.”
“Yes, I am. But unless you’re going to break up with me and flee the capital, you’re mine to toy with, Wallen,” Foodie teased, crouching down to pat his head, her big ears waving up and down in glee.
There was a time when Foodie would’ve looked down upon someone much weaker than her and turned him into a slow cooked meal. But she’d grown up literally and figuratively since then.
She could live among the weak. She didn’t detest them anymore. Better yet, she could help them grow.
Her status as Ride-or-Die Princess and leader of the Dragon Slayer Corps gave her ample time to work with the weak and see them become less weak.
Foodie struggled with herself to break away from Wallen. But the presence of her mother was still heavy in the air, so the princess planted one more kiss on her boyfriend’s forehead before slipping on some loose boots and hurrying out.
Once she left the private quarters of the tower, Foodie transitioned into her more familiar persona. She became the no non-sense Ride-or-Die Princess.
Imperial administrators, various tower servants, and visitors at the tower stopped to greet her. Members of the Dragon Slayer Corps stood at attention until they were told to be at ease. 𐍂ἁ𐌽O͍𝔟Ę𝘚
She saw Princess Administer Rhea Hemlock, had a quick chat on vital updates, and left after making plans to have drinks later in the week.
Then she left the tower and entered the bustling square at the center of New Florida. Citizens, visitors, and many people of multiple alignments moved back and forth in a hurry while in the shadow of the Central Library Continental Artillery Tower. And around that were the temples.
Immediately, Foodie’s eyes sought the large and foreboding Dragoness Temple. Black flames roared furiously on braziers placed near an entrance that looked like a giant maw that could eat hundreds of people.
Foodie suppressed a shudder at her resurfacing memories. She’d spent so many hours there with her evil aunt where only pain existed. No comfort, no love, just the cruel punishments the Dragoness could depart on the little goblin princess.
Though Foodie knew that wasn’t quite right. There was a certain love in Aunt Ariana’s brutality. She let Foodie live after all. She helped Foodie reach her new class and unknown quality … Abomination Cook.
Shaking her head, Foodie went to the Shadowfell Temple. She was about to reach Head Acolyte Amabel when the tower let loose a blare of warning, one of many, that signaled what was about to happen.
From her spatial pocket, Foodie pulled out a tablet that connected to the tower rune network, granting her access to a magical interface. Hannah had described it as a stripped-down, utilitarian version of the Internet, a creation from their old universe.
The Ride-or-Die Princess had access to all top secret and quest-specific information. It looked like the continental artillery was needed for a quest across the Manhunter Sands.
Gnoll Princess Ezda and Honorary Diplomat Omar were over there with members of the Dragon Slayer Corps. They were heading far west as part of operations to bring the United Nomad Empire into the fold. More of the Dragon Slayer Corps were out east and south to do the same.
There was no doubt about it now. The Ride-or-Die Empire was going to spread across the entire continent. Every kingdom and empire would be brought into the freedom alignment. The same would happen on other continents across the world. Queen Bianca was working on that right now.
All would become free.
The continental artillery fired its payload. It sounds like muffled thunder because of the enchantments, an important feature or many of the citizens would lose their hearing and require healing.
Foodie waited for a report to come across the high military officer channels to see the effect of the attack. Princess Ezda gave her report. The strikes were successful, reducing the number of corrupted monsters in her way.
Nodding in satisfaction, Foodie walked up the steps of her mother’s temple. Before she greeted Amabel, Shadowfell’s presence became even stronger.
“Mother,” she said to the freckled girl across from her.
Amabel smiled in a way that only Shadowfell would while existing inside a chosen avatar. “My dear daughter, you’ve grown so much.”
“Yes, I’m the Abomination Cook Master now.” Foodie hugged her mother and smiled. “But … I don’t know the quality of the class. It’s unknown to me.”
“Yes, well, you’ve reached too far above, my dear. Your father is dealing with the same issue. The qualities above mythical aren’t supposed to be reached by those in the lesser realms. I know what they are. I could bend things to let you know, though the Star System would be quite upset with that.”
“Is it powerful?”
“Yes, in a relative manner.” Mother chuckled.
Foodie sighed.
Despite having the name Darkrun, Foodie wasn’t an Ultra Goddess. She had the capability of becoming one far easier than most now, but she was bound by the rules of the Star System.
The Abomination Cook couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like to break the rules, cook them over a fire, and eat them like a proper Ultra Goddess.
Could a goblin become that big and powerful?
What would she do with her boyfriend?
Foodie felt an impish smile come onto her face. She would keep him, of course.
The bigger the power gap, the more fun it would be to terrorize him. Like having a favorite bug you loved dearly.
Wallen would only become ever cuter as Foodie grew and grew.
“Ah yes, that look on your face. That’s why it’s such a pleasure to have you as my daughter. It’s too much fun seeing a goblin rule over others.”
Foodie’s ears waved up and down as she tried to wrangle her feelings. The conversation was mostly private because of Shadowfell’s presence diverting attention, but the princess had a persona to uphold while in public.
“Is there anything else, Mother?” Foodie asked. “You rarely come down. And with the tournament happening, I imagine you’re focused on Father.”
“I am watching Zarian while Aunt Valerie is keeping me company. But there is something important I want to discuss with you.” Mother used Amabel to link arms with her daughter. The two went walking into the murky, deceptive, and slightly corrupted interior of the Shadowfell Temple. “Jack Master will be a complete dungeon soon.”
Foodie nearly tripped over her own feet.
Mother continued. “It will be you, dear, who enters his dungeon to vanquish him at long last. It will be you, dear, who will face one of the most terrible monsters ever to exist in this world.”
Foodie’s memories of Jack struck her.
And Mother smiled even further with Amabel’s face. “He will be absurdly strong. His dungeon will be of an unknown quality just like yours. He will try to break open and rampage across the land and consume the many citizens and homes provided by your Father and his friends. His hatred, even after his change, will know no end.”
Foodie was a strong, strong goblin. She was a Master Ranker of an unknown class quality. She was the Abomination Cook. She had the Third Stage of Aura Ignition and many other abilities.
But for a moment, she became a weak little goblin again. One who couldn’t defend herself against Jack’s abuse.
Mother pressed her lips into Foodie’s ears, like a knife into the heart. “Jack Masters will be something angelic for sure. A heavenly dungeon of horrid abilities. He will know what’s around him. He’ll identify all of your people … he’ll know about Wallen, and Jack will become jealous.”

“Mother…” Foodie whined, trying her best not to shake.
But Shadowfell was a tragic and cruel goddess. Once she got going, she wouldn’t stop. So, Foodie endured as Shadowfell continued.
“He’ll go after him, your sweet and wonderful and loving boyfriend. And Wallen, knowing what Jack has done to you, will try to fight him. Wallen will lose, of course. And he’ll lose terribly. And Jack … well … he won’t let it end quickly for Wallen. You’ve made your pet bug tough enough to endure some soul-wrenching pain under Jack’s administration.”
“NO!” Foodie screamed, her terror flipping into animosity, into goblin rage, into something deep inside that felt connected to her name as Darkrun. The force of her scream had weight to it, but it remained inside of the Shadowfell Temple.
Mother continued to puppet Amabel’s body around before coming to a stop on the other side of Foodie. The cruel smile on Amabel’s face remained. “You have options, that’s for certain. You can send the Dragon Slayer Corps. You can ask for … that elf harlot’s aid … though that’ll be disappointing.”
Mother tapped Amabel’s lip with a finger. “Perhaps by then … she who shall not be named … will awaken. And while I have grievances with she who shall not be named … she would be an excellent choice in dealing with Jack Masters’s final form.”
“It has to be me, Mother,” Foodie said, the corners of her eyes stinging. Her Willpower was shattered, but it was reassembling itself by the second. “It has to be me who puts down Jack once and for all. I won’t let him ruin everything here. I won’t let him hurt my Wallen.”
And she refused to be a weak and defenseless little goblin anymore.
“Then I have one request for you, dear.” Mother leaned in close again, her mouth to Foodie’s goblin ear. “Eat the dungeon core and the last essence of Jack Masters. And brave the consequences once you’ve digested it.”
“Impossible,” Foodie said.
“For anyone else, yes, but not for the Abomination Cook. Now, hurry and enjoy your next few days. Hm, given the amount of tragedy Jack Masters can work, I say you have until four days from now before he’s awake and ready to hurt everyone around him, Wallen especially.”
Foodie lost some of her nerve. She was about to ask about Empress Ruvaria, but decided not to. Ruvaria … was … scary to approach now that she was Level 200. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Many of her projects were left in the hands of the highest officials, Rhea Hemlock especially, with magic automated procedures already in place. All they had to do was monitor things with Naomi Washington and Jack Masters while Ruvaria stayed in seclusion.
Foodie wiped the tears from her eyes. She focused hard on her recovery until her Willpower was fixed up decently.
Then she nodded at her mother before Shadowfell left Amabel’s body, and the freckled young woman regained control of herself. Green eyes looked into Foodie’s yellow eyes with concern and acknowledgement.
“You can do this, Foodie,” Amabel said with girlish familiarity, hands grabbing hers. “You’re so much more powerful than the rest of us. You’ll make him pay. And then … you’ll become even stronger like you’re destined to become.”
Then, with a teasing smile, Amabel pressed in close. “When you come back victorious and hungry for a delicious bug dessert, we’ll gift wrap your boyfriend for you.”
Foodie laughed. She cried again. Then she hugged Amabel gently, only breaking a few ribs. That was not an issue for the Shadowfell Head Acolyte. She was made of tougher stuff and would heal quickly.
The Ride-or-Die Princess ran off to prepare for the inevitable showdown. She didn’t spend as much time as she wanted with Wallen. A dungeon crawl of this enormity, bigger than Mythical Quality, could take a lot of time, so she had to put procedures in place for things to run without her.
Rhea Hemlock was going to have the most centralized power anyone could ever have of a growing, freedom-spreading empire. But the woman was trustworthy. She was in love with Hannah, after all, and that love would temper her from the temptation of betraying her Lords and Ladies.
“I think I knew,” Rhea said, sitting on the administrative throne at the brain-center of the artillery tower. Foodie stood in front of her while they were surrounded by blue aura-powered and highly enchanted equipment, holographic screens displaying myriad visuals, and a hundred workers.
“You knew what?” Foodie asked.
“I knew the moment Hannah stepped on me … that I must devote everything to her,” Rhea explained. “It happened in a flash while under all of that pain.”
Foodie snorted a little, but not in mockery. She waited for Rhea to explain further.
“She was breaking me so thoroughly, I thought I would die. She could’ve killed me that day. She could’ve crushed me. But … My Lady Hannah saw potential in me and gave me another chance.”
Rhea, when she stood, was a tall, dark-haired, and bookish woman with a severe presence that easily cowed others. She was a serious type of woman. But on that throne, as she spoke about Lady Hannah, Rhea blushed like a school girl, hands gripped in front of her chest.
“You’ll be gone a long time, Foodie Darkrun. The others are gone as well. I’ll be the unofficial empress of a world-spanning empire the likes none of us have seen before,” Rhea said.
She let out a soft chuckle. “I’ve always dreamed of such power, and yet, with the opportunity now in my hands, I can only think of how best to use it per the will of My Lady Hannah. I used to be such a proud woman before this…”
Foodie patted Rhea on the knee. “It’s okay. You’ve been affected by the Floridians. This is what they do. We’re all a product of that.”
“Ah, yes, Floridians. That’s the answer to it all.”
Both the goblin and the noble woman nodded in understanding. Rhea let out a more painful sigh next. “I think when My Lady Hannah returns … I’m going to share my true feelings. And I shall prepare myself to get crushed again.”
“Perhaps she will reciprocate,” Foodie offered gently.
Rhea gave her a flat look. Hannah was, well, a bit of a dunce with romantic social cues. Foodie had seen multiple times how Rhea had pined over Hannah, and how the Floridian failed to notice.
“Maybe it would help if I were a man,” Rhea said.
“If she cannot accept you for you, then you must let it be,” Foodie said.
“Well, I’m already predisposed to having a one-sided affair already. It happens a lot when you read books as much as you love to eat, Foodie.”
The Abomination Cook shrugged. Books were interesting when they shared new recipes. Outside of that, she didn’t really understand the appeal.
“You’ll be a Master Ranker soon, Rhea. With all of this power concentrated in your hands, it’ll push you up. So, congratulations. And good luck.”
Ignoring the busy workers, the two hugged each other. Then Foodie was off to settle her other affairs, see all her friends in the Dragon Slayer Corps, and have a night in bed with Wallen.
For this one, Foodie became gentle, more feminine in a human way, and gave Wallen a night for him to remember forever. She allowed him to be in control and to call the shots. She did things for him that would leave an impression, leashing him even further.
By the time they were done, Wallen was laying like soft noodle of a human male. Foodie rested on her side, one hand propping up her head, the other hand stroking up and down his chest.
“Let me come with you,” Wallen gasped, his eyes spinning with delirious love.
Foodie had to admit that having so many points in Wonder paid off when she wanted social control. It was easy for her to manipulate her boyfriend, but more for their benefit, never to truly hurt him.
“You can’t, Wallen,” Foodie said softly. “You must stay and wait for me. Or break up with me, if you want.”
“Never,” Wallen gasped, like she’d told him the most horrible thing in the world.
If Foodie were human, she would’ve felt bad about the power disparity. But Foodie was a goblin, one who was okay with others being weaker than her now, which played into her goblin instincts.
She smiled toothily at Wallen’s devotion. It made her giggle and jiggle about like a proper goblin.
Thankfully, Foodie’s devotion was more human-like. She could’ve easily accrued a harem if she wanted. But Wallen provided more than enough, and she loved his cooking best.
Wallen turned toward her with a moan. He was out of aura. His vitality was low. But he pushed himself to hold her with all of his little Strength.
“I’m so angry, Foodie,” Wallen said, his body shaking, his face pressed hard into her chest. “I’m so angry at that bastard for what he’d done to you. And I’m angry at myself for not being strong enough to punish him!”
Foodie’s smile faltered. Her Willpower cracked a little. She almost revealed her fears and worries and wishes to avoid the inevitable conflict.
But she was the rock of their relationship. She was a Darkrun. And her little cute boyfriend needed to know she would be okay.
She combed her claws through his hair and kissed his forehead. “It’s okay, Wallen. It will be okay. As long as you wait for me, I will know to come back victorious. Then I’ll let you know how I made him suffer up until the end. And I’ll probably come back and break your hips.”
Wallen looked up with reddened eyes into Foodie’s face. “You promise?”
“I promise, my cute little human. Nothing will stop me from coming back to break you.” They shared another gentle kiss until Wallen fell asleep on top of her.
Foodie couldn’t sleep. She could see Jack Masters in her mind’s eye. But every time she rubbed her claws over Wallen’s sleeping face and down his back, the vision of her tormentor faded away briefly.
The morning of her departure arrived sooner than she preferred. She found herself kissing Wallen a few more times and adding a few love licks and nibbles while he remained asleep.
Then she slipped away from Wallen. She left her boyfriend a note that shared a mix of human and goblin emotions, of love and domination, of sweetness and spiciness.
She prayed to her mother and her father.
Then she geared up and went down a secluded hallway only usable by the highest officials of the empire. She went down a long, long, long elevator.
She’d said all the goodbyes she could already. She wanted to be alone now.
The elevator doors opened.
Ruvaria floated in the air across her.
There were few cases where Foodie would kneel. She’d done so for her goddess mother. She’d gladly do so for her father. She kneeled in front of Ruvaria out of primal fear that she couldn’t get over just yet.
Ruvaria was too powerful. She made Foodie feel like a bug. The goblin pressed her head to the floor in front of the elf’s hovering feet and waited.
“Child of my lover,” Ruvaria called, her voice both soft and filled with an immense power that shook the area like there was a titan talking down to the goblin.
A non-regressing Champion shouldn’t be in a lesser realm for this very reason, and Foodie had to wait and endure as Ruvaria talked down to her.
“I can enter the dungeon and provide you with the core for you. I will do this for you, oh child of my lover. All you must do is ask me.”
Foodie took a deep breath as all of her muscles squeezed with tension. “I cannot. I have to do this myself.”
Ruvaria made a clicking sound with her tongue that was like a bomb going off. Foodie’s ears hurt, but she kept listening anyway as Ruvaria spoke.
“The dungeon is far more powerful than normal. It shares your unknown quality. I do not wish for you to die, child. It will affect him poorly, and that will affect me poorly.”
“It has to be me, Empress Ruvaria,” Foodie said formally, raising her head ever so slightly. Her vision stopped at Ruvaria’s ankles. “I have to overcome him. I have to be the one who defeats him once and for all.”
“If you die, I’ll be quite sore with you.” Ruvaria floated to the side. “It’s interesting how becoming a Champion Ranker has changed my perspective on life. Having more power isn’t enough anymore. I want more than that. I want Zarian for myself, if I can help it.”
Her attention fell even heavier on Foodie’s back as Ruvaria spoke on. “It would be easy to just pluck you up and place you somewhere safe. But it would be a shame to rob you of your revenge. I know what it’s like.”
“Then will you let me pass?” Foodie asked, looking up all the way until she met Ruvaria’s eyes. They were so green, so supernaturally green.
“Yes, I shall allow it. But not without a blessing.” Ruvaria bent down and planted a kiss on Foodie’s forehead. “You aren’t my child. I’m not related to you. But I would gladly hope the best for you like any mother would. Now go Foodie Darkrun, go seize your destiny.”
Foodie felt a new power enter her and bolster her stats and abilities. She shot up to her boots, nodded at Empress Ruvaria, and dashed down the long hallway.
She went down a series of staircases that took her further down before taking even longer hallways that took her far away from under the capital. She moved so fast that she became a blur to most non-rankers, going further and further to where the experiment waited.
Then, finally, she arrived.
His entrance was between two large silver and beige columns that stood out against the surrounding rock.
The columns were covered in silently screaming humanoids that were crucified, chained, or nailed to each other’s limbs. Most looked like humans. Some of those humans looked like the people Jack hated most. Then there were the few goblin figures that looked exactly like Foodie.
The Abomination Cook took out her large cleaver from her spatial storage. She readjusted her armor, especially the boots she now wore over her feet.
For this one, she wouldn’t go barefooted like she preferred. She wanted to be fully protected and as strong as possible.
She went over her profile and did a soft check of all her abilities.
Then she drained a few alchemical potions that gave her greater buffs before she went inside of Jack’s dungeon for the first and final time.
<You’ve entered the Supernova Hater Dungeon (Unknown-Level 150).>
<This dungeon is a bomb waiting to blow. But you have ample time to complete it. A time dilation factor will be in effect to where months outside will be years inside. However, if you do not complete the crawl, the Supernova Hater Dungeon will break open and threaten all you hold dear.>
