Chapter B4 Ch9: Ruvaria and Bianca

Becoming a Champion Ranker had opened up the universe for Ruvaria even more than before. Far more than others would expect.

For one, she’d been an unknown quality from when she was a Master Ranker. She knew now she was the next unknown quality above that, to where the gods of God Land couldn’t get a proper read of her.

Ruvaria waited outside the World of Castles and Caverns, her hands behind the small of her back. She circulated air around her in the vacuum of space as the world below spun on its axis.

Moons traveled nearby. Pieces of trailing moon rock from the battered forms of the orange moon and the blue moon hurtled past the Level 200 Worldbreaker Sorceress unless they came in contact with her.

Then they would be obliterated like little orbs of sand hitting an immovable wall.

The Worldbreaker Sorceress was the only Level 200 Champion Ranker across all the worlds of the lesser realm.

The Star System had put in place measures to ensure something like this would never happen, and over ten thousand years, Ruvaria found a way to break those measures. Ten thousand years gave Ruvaria plenty of time to figure out how flimsy the rules were when applying enough leverage. She also had the benefit of her family’s long and lustrous years of pushing the boundaries to reign supreme.

It couldn’t be helped. As much as the Star System tried to nerf such circumstances, there were loop holes and exploits in his own parameters that he couldn’t patch away.

Now, the Worldbreaker Sorceress was taking her time to readjust to her new absurd power while conducting small experiments on a volunteer.

“Please, Ruvaria, end this,” begged a weak and hoarse voice coming from a twisted wretch stuck in an unbreakable cage. That wretch had once been Grandfather Rykaos, the Original Genocider, husband of Good Goddess Purehome. “Please … just end me.”

Ruvaria slowly turned toward the Level 199 Genocider Sorcerer. She smiled a small smile at him. “Yes, I suppose I’ve made use of you long enough. Some of your skills were interesting to behold, though quite old. It’s still a shame that I can’t copy traits, but any further attempts will break your soul out of your body, won’t they?”

Grandfather Rykaos sobbed.

The old elf from the Absolute Era had never faced such suffering before. Absolute elves knew how to dish it out well, and usually, they could take it. But all of their efforts to funnel the peak of absolute power into Ruvaria had made her the greatest anyone could ever witness.

Congratulations should be in order.

They did it.

They’d made Ruvaria their best monster.

“Do you know it would only take a fragment of my power to wipe out the Promised Continent?” Ruvaria revealed. “It would be so easy for me now. Frankly, I can destroy the entire world if I want.”

Grandfather Rykaos sobbed even louder.

Ruvaria laughed girlishly.

“I wouldn’t do that, of course. My lover wants this world to rule over. And the people he cares about live there.”

She spun around in space, arms out stretched. “But … if I could convince the dear child Bianca to give up on our people, I can wipe the slate clean forever.”

Ruvaria stopped and smiled down upon the Promised Continent. “Each and every elf. My children and their children and their children’s children included. This way, we can finally atone for what we’ve done, and I can move on with a clear conscience.”

“Please, I beg you, Ruvaria. Don’t do it. Have mercy,” Grandfather Rykaos pleaded. “Torture me further. Take it all out on me. But … don’t kill your own people.”

“Removing the orcs from our world was a given. But the dwarves? Most of the gnome population? Every time I check on the gnomes, the crimes of our past make them all cry and cower in my presence. Oh, what about the mermaids, the lycans, and even the dryads? And what about that other planet we disagreed with until we turned it into a Dying World?”

Ruvaria was shaking.

One of the moons was gone.

She had to destroy another to keep the world’s gravitational balance.

Rykaos gasped and screamed as Ruvaria flexed her power around him. “Please, Ruvaria! Not your own family! Anything but that. Think of your sons and your daughters. Think of your grandchildren and great grandchildren who don’t even know about our crimes!”

“Grandfather, I can always have more.”

That shut him up.

Ruvaria laughed. She couldn’t help it. She really enjoyed leaning into the evil part of free evil.

No more pretending to be good while delivering wickedness. She could just be wicked with a purpose.

Zarian might not like this outcome. But he would understand. And honestly, even if he moved on from her, Ruvaria’s love for him was transcending.

He was the path that would lead to ultra godhood, wasn’t he? This little universe wasn’t enough for her anymore.

So, to make the transition smoother, she should do away with all her old baggage. Except there was one thing in her way.

“Can you believe it, grandfather, that a human stands between me and the rightful atonement of our people?” Ruvaria asked, amused. “Her name is Bianca Garcia. She adores fashion, speaks in an interesting accent, and is a whirlwind of positivity even when she’s inclined to shed a tear at the slightest misfortune.”

Ruvaria chuckled. “She’s the type of human you would’ve disdained, regardless of her being an Outsider. You probably would’ve tortured her to death.”

“Yes, you’re right,” Rykaos admitted. “Punish me further. Leave our people alone, Ruvaria the Betrayer.”

The Worldbreaker Sorceress laughed another beautiful laugh. She curled into herself, her toes and fingers squeezed together. When she was done, she wiped a few tears free from her eyes and smiled widely at Rykaos.

“Who will remember me as a betrayer when you’re all gone?” Ruvaria licked her teeth. “I’m going to end every absolute elf. Then I will see Purehome, turn her into a wretch like you, take all of her power, and end her, too.”

“No!” Rykaos screamed. “The heavens will stop you.”

“The heavens will be an appetizer. And you won’t be there to overcook them. I’ll prefer them fresh while you can go somewhere else and be … well done.”

Ruvaria opened a portal to the Hells and threw the screaming Rykaos toward the bottom. He would land somewhere close enough among Champion and Paragon Devils, Level 200s and Level 300s.

They would have their fun with him for sure, and his soul wouldn’t be able to escape.

Ruvaria let out a pleasant sigh.

Wow, that felt great.

She was really going to enjoy slaughtering her entire family and all the elves of her empire. But there was still that one problem.

Bianca.

The Worldbreaker Sorceress looked down upon the little world.

And the Radiant Queen looked up and met her gaze despite the distance.

“Get out of my way, child,” ordered Ruvaria, her voice reaching all the way down.

“Eh, noooo, I can’t.” Bianca shook her head, ignoring the random stares from the freed elves around her. They had no idea who Bianca was talking to. “You’re going to crash out in a bad way, and it might feel good now, but you’re going to regret it for the rest of your life.”

“That is for me to suffer in the future. For now … I want immediate satisfaction.”

Bianca puffed up her cheeks and stood firm. “No is no, mi abuela. I will not allow it. I will even fight you.”

“Child, you cannot. I’m too powerful. The entire world is at my mercy. One mere continent isn’t that hard for me to wipe out. I can start by crushing a few cities and villages far outside of your reach.”

“Nooo, that’s not fair.” Bianca stomped her feet. “If you’re gonna be a baddie, you have to do it properly. You have to give me a fighting chance! At least make a game out of it! If you don’t, I’m going to … hate you for a long time!”

If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

Ruvaria hesitated.

As much as she was head-over-heels for Zarian, she cared deeply about Bianca. Something about the strange girl touched a part of Ruvaria’s heart that she couldn’t quite describe.

If Bianca were her actual child, she would be the one elf Ruvaria would want to spare. Perhaps something about Bianca reminded Ruvaria of how a free and loving and spirited elf should act.

“I do not wish for you to hate me,” Ruvaria said. “But I must wipe the slate clean. They must die.”

“Give me a chance, Ruvaria. Make a game out of it, at least. I … I will accept the losses if I fail your games. But if you won’t do that much then I’m cutting you off.” Bianca placed her fists on her hips. She meant business.

Ruvaria … was mortified.

Her Willpower trembled in a way that shouldn’t be possible.

There were few fates worse than death. And the idea of being cut off from a woman who was like a sunshine and summer thunderstorm was one of those fates.

It wouldn’t be unreasonable to play some games, wouldn’t it?

The Star System joined in immediately with a message that would spread across the entire world.

<ALERT! ALERT! Ruvaria the Genocider has achieved enough power to doom any Lesser World of her choosing. As of now, her target is the Promised Continent and all the elves of her lineage. Unfortunately, Ruvaria sits in a position where the lives of these elves are hers to decide.>

<But one person challenges her! The one known as Sunshine Heraldess, System Defender, Freedom Leader, Sword Saintess, the Radiant Queen Bianca Garcia! If Ruvaria agrees to accept the challenge, then this will become a Divine World Event. If she doesn’t … then the Infinita Star System must suggest that all elves prepare themselves for annihilation.>

<What will Ruvaria decide?>

“So it’s like that, Star System?” Ruvaria asked. “And what will I get in return for playing this game?”

The next message was more private instead of world-bound.

<There are Champion Rankers who are trying to regress to deal with you. It can be assured that their regression is a smooth one and that you’ll get extra experience against them.>

Ruvaria smiled hungrily.

She could already imagine which of those Champion Rankers would be regressing for another go. She could always use more experience and more levels, despite how impossible that seemed.

It was either she fought Champion Regressors or she went off and farmed worlds by destroying them, experimenting on them, and perhaps draining them and their local stars of power.

“Fine then. I will be the World Boss. Bianca and whoever takes up arms with her can be the challengers.”

<It has been decided! World Boss Ruvaria the Genocider will challenge Sword Saintess Bianca and whoever joins arms with her. The fate of all the elves on the Promised Continent is in the balance. Beware, because of Ruvaria’s unbelievable power as a– >

Ruvaria wrapped the entire world with aura and cut off the Star System briefly.

“Do not share my class,” she warned before peeling back her aura.

<Pardon me for the … abrupt interruption! It should be known that Ruvaria is now in a league that’s far above everyone in the lesser realms except for the Dark Lord himself. Because of this, the games that shall be held cannot be based solely direct conflict. Instead … Ruvaria will choose games that should give the challengers a chance to succeed even if it’s a small chance.>

Ruvaria took over from there, casting her voice to be spoken across the Promised Continent. “Hello, everyone, this is your empress. It is true. I’m going to kill you all.”

She waited to hear them scream and cry. Ah, yes, it was all music to her ears. She really couldn’t wait.

After she let them sob and beg for long enough, she continued. “Yes, yes, I know. It’s quite terrifying. I won’t even spare my own children and such. I think this is best for wiping the slate clean and freeing me from eras of sin.”

She twirled around playfully in space. She hadn’t felt this spirited and happy in a long time outside of moments spent with Zarian. “It doesn’t have to be painful. I can wipe you all away quickly and efficiently. But the Sword Saintess wishes to save you all. Thus, I’ll decide on this first game.”

Ruvaria licked her lips and smiled naughtily. “Unlock the Absolute Doppelganger Soldier Program and wield them to capture Bianca Garcia. If you succeed, I will allow you all an opportunity to persuade me away from complete genocide. Or … you can have a chance at convincing me why you and those you hold dear should remain alive.”

Nobody was going to live.

All the elves were going to die.

But the illusion of having a chance would make their deaths even more delicious. If she was going to play this game, she might as well lean all the way in.

<My goodness Ruvaria … there are traditionally evil villains who wouldn’t be able to fathom your evil,> the Star System shared privately.

“You’ve allowed this. You’ve seen me become what I am. I’m only furthering the role,” Ruvaria said privately to the Star System.

The system didn’t reply again.

Ruvaria returned her attention back to the Promised Continent. “As for you, Bianca and friends. You must destroy every doppelganger soldier. For every six hours that a doppelganger soldier isn’t destroyed or Bianca isn’t captured, I will crush a city of my choosing. This first game ends in the next 72 hours unless all the doppelgangers are destroyed or Bianca is captured. Now … let the genocidal games begin, everyone! Have fun!”

<Countdown: Ruvaria will destroy an elven city in 5 hours, 59 minutes, and 58 seconds. This will refresh when the timer runs out and lead to the destruction of a city or a doppelganger is destroyed. End the timer for good by capturing Bianca Garcia.>

“Woo! Okay! We have a chance!” Bianca cheered from all the way down on the Promised Continent. “So, I just gotta go find those doppelganger baddies, eh?”

The Radiant Queen looked left and right. “Ehh … where are they?”

Ruvaria couldn’t help but snicker as she kept floating in space. She summoned a sofa and some snacks. She propped her feet up on a footrest and relaxed with a drink in hand.

She tried to spy deeper into Bianca’s profile, but the Radiant Queen was one of the few people who could blind her from the specifics. She could force the issue with more power, but she didn’t want to hurt Bianca.

So far, Bianca had been helping with an infestation of aberrations infected with Enhanced Shadowfell Tears. They’d spilled out of a ravine that had appeared in the middle of the Promised Continent from when Ruvaria’s lover had shaken the world with his mighty wrath.

Bianca must’ve accrued some decent growth from that, but there was no way it was enough for her to deal with the doppelganger soldiers. Those were some of the most nefarious creations of the Absolute Era.

They would copy Bianca exactly and improve upon her powers. They were designed to be of the highest grade of mythical quality and could compete with most Master Rankers.

Ruvaria chuckled as elves hurried to launch the doppelgangers that were stored in different kingdoms across the Forever Green Empire. She watched one of her own children beg and pray aloud, calling to her for mercy, as he initiated the program.

“Sweetie, mama is listening. She’ll listen all the way to the end,” Ruvaria whispered into her son’s ear from across the great distance. “Just do as you’re told. Release the doppelganger soldier and key them to Bianca Garcia. I’ve implanted the information you’ll need for her into your head. Check your memories.”

Her son nodded rapidly and initiated the program in a secret chamber among many secret chambers.

A vat filled with living metal spilled its contents over the top as it drooped down to the floor before becoming a single humanoid shape. It was bigger, stronger, more luminesce than Bianca. It was smarter, tougher, and maybe even faster.

It would hurt Bianca.

But Ruvaria would ensure that none delivered a killing blow.

Once all the elves were dead, Ruvaria would probably take Bianca into seclusion and make amends. Maybe, just maybe, Bianca would accept being adopted if she didn’t hate her.

“It’ll be hard, but we’ll get past this together, my true child,” Ruvaria said softly. “Now I must have you punished a teensy bit for defying me.”

The first doppelganger launched.

And from halfway across the continent, Bianca sliced it in half and annihilated it with the heat of the sun.

Ruvaria spilled her drink on herself.

<Oh, by the way,> said the Star System in a way that sounded snarky despite it coming from his blue screens, <It seems that Bianca’s free good is rising and rising and rising some more. I honestly can’t predict how far it’ll rise.>

“That can’t be possible. Even traditional good wouldn’t rise like that,” Ruvaria sputtered.

<Yes, well, I’ve been examining Bianca Garcia closely for quite some time. I’ve concluded that she’s talented in all manners of good. This became more apparent after she was brainwashed by traditional good and became the first freedom leader to be free good. Thus, she’s more predisposed to being the best at pushing the sub-alignment power.>

“Star System … you do know that can break your parameters, don’t you?” Ruvaria muttered.

<Yes, I do. But for this once, Ruvaria, I hope she does. We can use some real good for once. Good luck. I think when she hits Level 200, I’ll be able to push for a really special class for Bianca. She’ll certainly have the Feats of Adventure for it.>

The Star System departed, and another doppelganger got sliced and annihilated out of the air the moment it launched. There had been twelve of those, now down to ten.

Ruvaria felt like she’d been slapped silly.

And the Star System wasn’t the only one reacting funny.

Deep in the Harrowing Mist Isles, Gilbert stopped to check his notifications about the Divine World Event. He’d just finished chopping up another big nasty monster with his axe in one hand and his lasso in the other. Slip was thrashing another monster under his eight hooves.

“Yeah, Bianca got it for now,” Gilbert said before going back to the grind.

Crawling further into the depths of the Forgotten Kingdom Dungeon, Hannah stopped to look up after checking her notifications. She was covered in a blue, runic glow from the thousands of enchantments covering the walls. An army of golems surrounded her.

The Forgotten Kingdom Dungeon was about to change its entire design and throw another large-scale puzzle at her along with some dungeon enemies. Yet, Hannah was having the time of her life down here. She was also unbothered by the notifications.

“It’s Bianca. She’ll do just fine,” Hannah said, turning back to her work. “She’s always been the big hero type anyway.” Hannah sighed. “I don’t know where that leaves me, but I’m having fun. So, I think things will be alright.”

Hannah returned to her work. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

Ruvaria blinked rapidly after spying on Bianca’s friends for their insight. It left her confused.

Ruvaria was certain Bianca didn’t have any traits for heroism. Bianca was set up to be a ruler, a saint, an angel, a guide of freedom, but not a traditional hero.

Ruvaria decided to ask Bianca directly. “Are you a true hero?”

Bianca paused after bringing down another doppelganger. “Eh, not really. I’m more like a saucy baddie, y’know? But I’m a nice, saucy baddie. And the elves are so cute when they’re free.”

The girl listed off the positives with a bright smile. “They give the best massages and have really tasty cakes. Their fashion sense is to die for! The quality, quality, not just, y’know, the magic quality, is amazing. And their music! Once you free them, they’re so fun and happy and playful! All they need is freedom, and the elves become so much fun to be around.”

Bianca chuckled as she waggled a finger up at space, as if she were scolding a child. “We really need to get you outside of your stuffy cave, Abuela Ruvaria and get you some more sunshine. You’re missing out. I still have more elves to free, but it would be easier if you helped me instead of trying to kill them all, you silly woman, you.”

Ruvaria kept floating in space with the Corma Sun behind her, a gobsmacked expression on her face.
