Chapter 320: Chapter 308: Scheming and Strategizing

Sienna Thornton chuckled silently, saying nothing.

But she recalled Jane Jefferson’s previous confident demeanor. She used to think a confident woman like her was very attractive. Now she understood that her full confidence was probably because she believed there wasn’t a man in this world she couldn’t take down, right?

"Stop talking about that woman, I’m about to throw up!" Sylvia Langley gulped down a glass of water and asked, "What do we do now?"

Sienna Thornton snapped out of her thoughts, her lips curling into a cold smile as she mocked, "Since she wants the child to be legitimized and to give the child a complete home, then, Aunt, you should propose that she undergo an amniocentesis before 24 weeks of pregnancy."

"Using amniotic fluid cells to test the DNA of the fetus?" Sylvia Langley hesitated, "She won’t agree, right? This method seems to carry certain risks for the fetus."

The relationship between law, medicine, and ethics is not something that can be explained in a few words. Sienna Thornton didn’t explain much, just said, "If necessary, when you discuss this with her, I can accompany you as your lawyer."

Sylvia Langley waved her hand, "I’ll try first. If it doesn’t work, I’ll let you step in. From now on, don’t meet her alone! Your status is not something a wild woman like her can demand to see! Maintain your noble demeanor as Jules’ future wife!"

Sienna Thornton was amused yet felt a warmth in her heart.

She had past grievances with Sylvia Langley, but seeing Sylvia now supporting her and considering her dignity, all past grudges vanished into thin air.

Later, she and Sylvia Langley discussed the negotiation contents again, urging Sylvia to insist that Jane Jefferson undergo the amniocentesis before 24 weeks.

Regardless that amniocentesis might lead to a miscarriage, as soon as the procedure was done, it would be clear whose child it was, and for this reason, Jane Jefferson would never agree to the exam.

At that time, Jane Jefferson would find herself at the end of her rope.

After listening to Sienna Thornton’s analysis, Sylvia Langley felt much more at ease, frequently patting Sienna’s hand in appreciation, "Thornton, it’s good to have you here! Otherwise, when dealing with a cultured thug, I wouldn’t know what to do besides hitting them!"

Sienna Thornton was amused by the phrase "besides hitting," and advised, "Aunt, even if you get angry in the future, you can’t hit people. Talk it out. Otherwise, they could sue you."

"I want to talk, but can you reason with such a bandit? I stood outside for quite a while before coming in, hearing how speechless she left you, and I couldn’t help but come in and hit her! Such people deserve a beating! You’re too refined, trying to reason with people, but do they reason with you? In the end, aren’t you the one who suffers..."

Always eager to teach, Sylvia Langley took the opportunity to give Sienna a lecture. Fortunately, her tone was good, and every word was in defense of Sienna, so Sienna didn’t fuss with her.

Sylvia Langley stayed at the office until noon, waiting for Sienna to draft the agreement, and then had lunch with her before returning to the family home.

Sienna Thornton instructed her not to voice suspicions about Bianca Fordham to avoid getting the older Forrester Family members upset and harming their health.

But in a couple of days, it would be best to invite Bianca Fordham’s family, Jane Jefferson, and Thomas Reed to the family home for dinner. Then subtly bring up the matter, mention the plan for the amniocentesis, and present the agreement to see how everyone reacts.

This would show the Forrester Family’s stance on recognizing the grandson, and also make Bianca Fordham and Thomas Reed realize that if Jane Jefferson’s child belongs to the Reed Family, they won’t benefit at all from the Forrester Family.

Sylvia Langley returned home with Sienna Thornton’s instructions and the agreement, and sure enough, kept quiet. That night, when Sienna Thornton returned home, she briefly mentioned the day’s events to Simon Forrester.

Simon Forrester was sitting upright at the computer dealing with work. When he heard how absurd the situation had become, he was furious and immediately called Thomas Reed.

Sienna Thornton no longer intervened; the situation had developed to this point, and Thomas Reed needed to know.

At this moment, Simon Forrester was pacing back and forth in the study, straight as a rod, with a white T-shirt over a plaster cast, holding the phone in one hand while the other propped against the bookshelf, his face livid.

With it being past nine in the evening domestically, it was likely four or five in the morning in Britione. Thomas Reed was probably asleep and had his phone on silent, not answering at first. Simon Forrester dialed a few more numbers before finally reaching him.

Simon Forrester wasted no time and asked, "Is Jane Jefferson’s child yours?"

Whatever Thomas Reed said on the other end, Simon Forrester replied bluntly, "Not my business? If she hadn’t gone to Candy and the elders, claiming she’s carrying my child, I wouldn’t care about your sleazy affairs."

At the end of his words, he was gritting his teeth, veins throbbing on his forehead. Sienna Thornton, worried that his anger could harm his recovering body, quickly patted his arm to soothe him.

Just before hanging up, Simon Forrester practically shouted into the phone, "Come back and deal with this quickly! Otherwise, I’ll report it to the police!"

After saying this, he hung up the phone, but his face remained angry for quite some time.

He turned, wanting to hug Sienna Thornton. But with the plaster cast on, he couldn’t bend or lean over. As he stood there frustrated with his cast, Sienna thought quickly, standing barefoot on the sofa, extending her arms, "Come, this way you can hug me!"

He obediently walked over, looking up at the now much taller Sienna Thornton, cautiously wrapping his arms around her waist.

He leaned his face against her slender body, asking angrily and somewhat forlornly, "Why do I have to deal with such bizarre things? If this gets out, people will laugh their heads off."

Sienna Thornton chuckled, threading her fingers through his thick hair, massaging his scalp with her fingertips, and gently stroking his back.

She reassured Simon Forrester, "Situations like this aren’t unusual; lawyers often deal with such cases, and many turn out to be real, with the child being born and causing chaos. We’re lucky that the child in question isn’t yours, and there’s a way to handle it."

As she spoke, she hugged him tighter, playfully squeezing his well-built biceps, smiling, "Not bad! You haven’t worked out for a month, yet your muscles are still so toned?"

She didn’t see that the hand behind her had quietly clenched into a fist, showing off the elasticity of his muscles.

Simon Forrester felt a bit embarrassed, as not exercising for a month left his abs and other muscle groups significantly less toned. He had been bathing himself lately, no longer letting Sienna help, so she hadn’t seen his scrawny muscles, which would have been humiliating.

Noticing Sienna Thornton’s hand moving downward, his glutes immediately tensed. Sienna squeezed the muscle, laughing, "Pretty solid, did you secretly work out behind my back when I went to work?"

He replied exasperatedly, "I’ve been working out with my mind," afraid she’d check his muscles further, withdrawing his arms and walking back to sit at the desk.

Sienna Thornton chuckled, watching him still look dashing despite the injury, her eyes sparkling as she said, "I’ll go shower now, join me early," before hopping off the sofa.

Tonight, she was going to test the effects of Simon Forrester’s "mind workouts"...
