Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike-Chapter 321 - 309: Handsome Old Man
Two days later, Sylvia Langley visited the law firm again.
She informed Sienna Thornton that she had already invited Bianca Fordham and Jane Jefferson to the old mansion and, in the presence of Old Master Forrester and Grandma Forrester, explained that since Jane Jefferson was once Thomas Reed’s girlfriend, if the Forrester Family wanted to acknowledge the child as Simon Forrester’s, an amniocentesis must be conducted before the child is born to prove that the fetus is indeed Simon Forrester’s, only then would the Forrester Family accept.
After hearing this, Sienna Thornton asked calmly, "Did you bring out the agreement?"
That day, before Sylvia Langley left, Sienna Thornton drafted an agreement for her, clearly stating that the hospital performing the amniocentesis must be designated by the Forrester Family, and if it proves that the biological father of the child is Simon Forrester, then the Forrester Family would not only recognize the child but also never hinder any potential relationship between Jane Jefferson and Simon Forrester. If Simon Forrester is not the biological father, it will be considered a case of marriage fraud, and the Forrester Family will initiate legal proceedings.
Sylvia Langley said, "Of course! But that woman refused to sign! She said that amniocentesis poses a risk of miscarriage and accused us of trying to lose the child by asking her to do the test. Initially, she was adamant about not doing it, but when I insisted, she simply changed her stance and said she wouldn’t acknowledge the child with the Forrester Family, and even said before the elderly that she would abort the child, scaring the old lady into agreeing to let her first give birth to the child before taking a DNA test!"
Sylvia Langley said this and scolded Grandma Forrester. After the scolding, she asked Sienna Thornton, "What do we do now? If she does end up having the child, and refuses a DNA test while telling everyone it’s Jules’s, what then? Moreover, what I fear most is that the old timers might soften in the end, making the situation uncontrollable!"
This is also what Sienna Thornton fears most at the moment.
Dealing with those as stubborn as a mule is the toughest. The confidence she had built up just a few days ago was shattered by the news brought by Sylvia Langley.
Sienna Thornton stood up and paced in her office, contemplating the next steps.
Sylvia Langley accompanied her, occasionally offering immature and unsafe suggestions, all of which were rejected by Sienna Thornton one by one.
That evening, Sienna Thornton returned home and discussed with Simon Forrester, deciding to call both Thomas Reed and Jane Jefferson to the old mansion on the day Thomas Reed returns to the country for a face-off.
Simon Forrester knew that Thomas Reed could handle Jane Jefferson, so he agreed.
Thus, on that week’s Saturday night, Simon Forrester and Sienna Thornton visited the old mansion.
Fortunately, autumn had arrived. Simon Forrester wore a slightly loose black trench coat, and with the zipper pulled up, it wasn’t apparent that he was wearing a plaster vest underneath.
He hadn’t stepped out for over a month. As Sienna Thornton drove the car out of the basement, he smiled broadly, "I’ve been almost depressed staying at home."
While speaking, he glanced around at the night scene, filled with emotions, "After not going out for over a month and seeing this familiar street view again, the feelings are quite complex!"
Sienna Thornton chuckled, turned to look at him briefly, "Complexity over what?"
"It’s like I went somewhere far away for many years and only just returned."
Sienna Thornton drove seriously, using her right hand to hold his hand tightly, as if he used to hold hers, "Starting tomorrow, I’ll accompany you for a walk every evening."
"You come back so busy every night, with all the household chores waiting for you. How would you have time to stroll with me?" Simon Forrester replied.
"Well..." Sienna thought for a moment, "How about hiring a part-time housekeeper to clean and cook dinner?"
This is exactly what Simon Forrester wanted; he had long hoped to hire a housekeeper, but Sienna Thornton was unwilling. He watched her work hard all day outside and felt sorry seeing her do the chores after returning home.
Now she finally agreed to hire a housekeeper. She seemed smart and capable, but he knew that a little whining would get her to fall for it.
He had proposed countless times before: seriously and officially, yet she never agreed. But after he got injured and almost became disabled, she cried and said she wanted to marry him.
Just as Simon Forrester was feeling smug, as Sienna Thornton pulled the handbrake waiting for the red light, she sternly looked at him.
Instinctively, he touched his smooth cheek and asked, "What’s wrong?"
Sienna Thornton placed a hand on the steering wheel, her body turned slightly towards him, scanning from his well-groomed slicked-back hair to his pale, tender face from not being in the sun for over a month, then to his pale neck and the sexy Adam’s apple under the black trench coat.
"You stayed at home for about a month and somehow look several years younger, looking like a fresh-faced young man in his twenties now." As she said this, her gaze returned to his face, "I realize your hair getting a bit longer and slicked back gives you quite a Japanese heartthrob vibe."
"Japanese heartthrob?" Simon Forrester pursed his cheeks, corner of his mouth rising, "Kimura? Takashi Kashiwabara? Takeshi Kaneshiro? Hideaki Takizawa?"
He said this and suddenly changed his expression, "Cancel Hideaki Takizawa, he didn’t look good later after gaining weight."
Sienna Thornton looked puzzled, "Who are all these people you’re talking about? I don’t know any of them."
Simon Forrester: "..."
As the green light came on, Sienna Thornton’s gaze returned to the road ahead. As the car drove a little further, she laughed, "I almost forgot. Uncle, you’re from the 80s, I’m from the 90s. The Japanese heartthrobs you mentioned might all be grandpas now."
"Uncle is fine," Simon Forrester chuckled, combing his slicked-back hair with his hand before the rearview mirror, flirtatiously curling his lips, "Besides, the gentleman before you not only looks handsome but also has loads of money; many are eager..."
His sentence cut short as he abruptly realized he said something wrong and was ready to change the subject, just as Sienna Thornton threw him a stern look while driving, "Yes, yes, eager... That’s what brought a pregnant woman over, you say...? Ah, never mind!"
She initially wanted to complain about how Jane Jefferson’s issue added chaos to her life but realized it wasn’t Simon Forrester’s fault, so she couldn’t bear to continue.
However, even though she stopped, Simon Forrester next to her fumed, "When I see Thomas Reed later, I’ll surely give him a beating! It’s all his fault for messing with random women, dragging trouble to me!"
"Did you forget you’re injured?" Sienna Thornton gave him another stern look.
Simon Forrester fell silent, sat upright.
Soon, they arrived at the old mansion. Sienna Thornton parked the car outside and, intending to go to the passenger seat to help Simon Forrester out, unexpectedly found this patient moving quicker than her, already stepping out and closing the car door.
She locked the car, tucked the keys into her sweatpants pocket, and went forward to take Simon Forrester’s arm, intimately walking into the inner courtyard.
At the gate stood a red Porsche 911 and a white Maybach, Simon Forrester recognized the white Maybach as Bianca’s and casually remarked, "They’re already here."
Sienna Thornton smiled, "Remember what I told you before we left?"
Simon Forrester instantly put on a serious face, "I remember."
