Chapter 273: Chapter 270: Simon Forrester Protects Tang

Simon Forrester had no choice but to put on his outdoor clothes, gave a nod to Sienna Thornton, and hurried back to the old mansion.

Past ten o’clock, the old mansion was brightly lit, very different from its usual tranquil appearance at nine when it typically goes dark. This usually meant that Zane Forrester and his wife had returned.

Simon Forrester parked his car and strode into the inner courtyard, noticing from afar Old Master Forrester, Zane Forrester, his wife, and Ian Grant sitting in the dining room, each with a dark expression, as if they had just argued.

Simon Forrester’s heart sank; seeing Ian Grant, he immediately thought perhaps Ian had found out about Sienna Thornton’s relationship with Quentin Thorne and was here to make a scene?

But in this scenario, how could Quentin Thorne not be present?

Simon Forrester walked into the living room with a heavy heart. Without greeting anyone, he asked in an unpleasant tone, "Why did you call me over so late? What’s going on?"

Ian Grant looked up at him, eyes full of complexity.

Simon Forrester frowned and turned to Old Master Forrester, "Grandpa, what’s going on?"

Old Master Forrester looked as if he was at a loss for words and didn’t speak. Meanwhile, Sylvia Langley, sitting beside Zane Forrester, angrily threw a stack of photos at him.

The photos scattered across the floor, and Simon Forrester grabbed one—

The people in the photo were Sienna Thornton and Quentin Thorne.

He crouched down to pick up a few more; some were taken two weeks ago when Sienna Thornton had tea with Quentin Thorne; the photos showed them leaving the teahouse together, Sienna getting into Quentin’s car, the two talking and laughing.

There were also some from last Saturday night when they had dinner at "Cheney Manor." In the dimly lit night, Quentin Thorne helped Sienna Thornton out the doors of "Cheney Manor," Sienna holding onto a wall, while Quentin looked down slightly at her legs beneath her skirt.

Simon Forrester: "..."

After the shock, he tossed the photos onto the table and said through clenched teeth, "What’s the meaning of taking these photos?"

Ian Grant and Old Master Forrester remained silent, and Zane Forrester shook his head in apparent disappointment. Only Sylvia Langley was visibly upset: "What do you mean? You’ve seen the photos, haven’t you? The woman living with you is secretly dating Dean Thorne! The photos have captured everything! You still don’t believe it?"

Simon Forrester’s face turned ashen, looking at Ian Grant, "Aunt Grant, did you have someone take these photos? Have you been having people follow Uncle Thorne?"

Ian Grant sneered, "You don’t need to worry about where these photos came from. This girl met Thornton because you introduced them during the New Year, and now they’re having an affair, aren’t they?"

Her voice carried no warmth, chilling those who heard.

Sylvia Langley shrieked from the side, "Jules! Break up with her immediately! Why would you want a woman like that? Break up with her right now!" After saying that, she fell into Zane Forrester’s arms, sobbing.

Simon Forrester ignored her, bent down to collect all the photos from the floor, took the ones from the table, and coldly nodded, "Fine, none of you are saying where these photos came from, is that it? Then I’ll call the police! Once they’re involved, be ready for legal action!" With that, he stuffed the photos into his sports pants pocket.

"Also, that night, I was having dinner with Sienna and Dean Thorne. I just ran into a classmate while paying the bill, stood to chat a bit, and Sienna and Dean Thorne left first. Yet, you insist our meeting was a secret rendezvous between them. What are your intentions?"

Ian Grant laughed and turned to Simon Forrester, speaking with certainty, "Even if you were there that night, can you guarantee there’s nothing between them? Thornton told me he was having dinner with students that night. Are you his students? No! Then why did he lie? Because he’s having an improper relationship with this girl and doesn’t dare let others know!"

Simon Forrester was furious, pointing at Ian Grant and shouting, "You keep accusing them of an affair! Who are you insulting?!"

He had never lost his temper like this, leaving the Forrester family momentarily speechless.

Ian Grant remained seated with a sense of reasonableness, unfazed by Simon Forrester’s anger in the least.

After shouting, Simon Forrester instinctively felt Ian Grant was seriously ill, venting her issues at home with Quentin Thorne was one thing, but now she’d brought them to the Forrester family.

The older Forrester family members might tolerate it; he could not.

"I don’t care what Uncle Thorne told you; I was there that night!" He said, taking out his phone, checking his banking app for the transaction record from dinner at "Cheney Manor."

He tossed the phone in front of Ian Grant, "See for yourself, I paid the bill that night!"

Seeing Ian Grant’s expression of disbelief and refusal to look, his fury surged, sharply stating, "Anyone with a brain would know it’s impossible; my girlfriend would choose your Thornton over me? You must have a persecution complex!"

After speaking, he realized Ian Grant might indeed be sick. He didn’t bother arguing further and turned to leave.

Just a few steps ahead, Sylvia Langley screamed a threat behind him, "If you don’t break up with her! I’ll repossess your studio’s land!"

Without looking back, Simon Forrester replied coldly, "Fine, take it then; I’ve got plenty of land. Don’t think my studio can’t continue without your piece." Having said this, he didn’t waste any more words on them and walked straight through the inner courtyard towards the gate.

Behind him were Sylvia Langley’s sobbing cries and Zane Forrester’s comforting words.

-

After leaving the old Forrester mansion, Simon Forrester didn’t go back to his apartment; he immediately called to meet Quentin Thorne.

At a nearby café to the Thorne Family home, he handed Quentin Thorne the stack of photos, "Aunt Grant had someone follow you, just so happened to capture you and Sienna together. She now suspects you’re having an improper relationship."

Quentin Thorne was immediately stunned upon hearing this. Regaining his composure, he quickly looked down at the stack of photos; the more he saw, the worse his expression became.

Simon Forrester observed him for quite a while, sure that his expression showed unbearable distress, then asked, "What do you plan to do? This circle is very small; Sienna can’t bear such stigma. You owe her too much; don’t drag her down further."

Recent events had been forcing Quentin Thorne to make a decision. Initially, he thought it would be dangerous if Ian found out Sienna Thornton was her daughter, but now it seemed for Sienna to be completely safe, unless he stops meeting her.

"How many people currently know about this matter?" Quentin Thorne asked, "Did Ian Grant say anything else?"

Simon Forrester thought for a moment and replied, "Probably only my family knows, and Aunt Grant wouldn’t spread such matters, right? Didn’t say much else, just kept fixating on your saying that night you were meeting students for dinner and ended up dining with us instead."

"If that’s the case," Quentin Thorne said, "I’ll talk it over with Ian Grant tonight and try to suppress this matter, but..."

Simon Forrester looked at him, "But what?"

Quentin Thorne sighed, "For Annie’s safety, I shouldn’t meet Sienna again before acknowledging her."

Having witnessed Ian Grant’s unreasonable antics at night, Simon Forrester finally understood why Quentin Thorne dared not acknowledge Sienna Thornton.

He felt quite helpless, too, coldly declaring, "Sienna and I are heading to Azure Harbor tomorrow and will return on Sunday. I hope this matter is resolved by the time we come back."

Quentin Thorne nodded, "I will. Take good care of Annie; call me if there’s anything."

The stack of photos in his hand became crumpled, with his jaw muscles visibly tense from gritted teeth.

Simon Forrester stood up to leave, and finally, asked, "Does Aunt Grant have a mental problem?"

He wanted to say if she’s ill, get treatment, don’t harm the innocent like this. But remembering she’s Quentin Thorne’s spouse, he held back from saying so.

If Ian Grant truly was ill, Quentin Thorne’s situation was indeed pitiful.

If Ian Grant was actually sick, Simon Forrester wouldn’t agree with Quentin Thorne acknowledging Sienna Thornton; who knows what a mad person might do.

"Ian Grant’s always been very extreme and possessive, but she doesn’t have a mental illness, rest assured," Quentin Thorne said.

Simon Forrester nodded, glanced at the photos in his hands again, and teased, "I’ll leave these photos with you to use tonight for a showdown, go easy, okay?"

After saying this, he didn’t wait for Quentin Thorne’s reaction and walked away.

It’s said when a rabbit is cornered, it bites; Simon Forrester had a hunch Quentin Thorne was going to deal with Ian Grant’s antics that night.
