Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike-Chapter 272 - 269: Mistress of the House
Sienna Thornton also laughed, wrapping her arms around his shoulders, "You said we’d get married once the house was ready, but I doubt it will be that soon. Just look at this complex design of yours; it might take a few years to build, right?"
"Not necessarily," Simon Forrester raised an eyebrow, "I sorted out that big guesthouse of yours in half a year. Plus, we’re just talking about a two-story villa now."
"True." Sienna only then remembered that he also invested in several large construction companies. With a single command, the construction team could work around the clock, so this villa shouldn’t take long to finish.
She seriously looked at the villa on the computer screen, with its exterior made of deep brown, light tan, and large swathes of pale green glass, and questioned, "This villa has a lot of floor-to-ceiling windows. The front wall is almost entirely glass. Wouldn’t it be hot in the summer?"
"Those are double-glazed windows with excellent heat and sound insulation, so it won’t be hot." Simon circled her waist with one hand and tapped a few keys with the other, causing the internal structure of the villa on the screen to begin a breakdown. "The advantage of this design is that, no matter which room we’re in at home, we can see the sunlight and the greenery from the garden. It’s a great living environment."
Sienna then noticed that the villa was surrounded by lawns, with tall, robust trees arranged in clusters, and a long blue swimming pool not far away. When illuminated at night, it created a luxurious South American villa area, where one would feel incredibly relaxed and comfortable.
The villa’s renderings continued to auto-decompose, and Simon pointed to a few rooms on the second floor, saying, "The second floor is a more homey, private environment, with a living room, study, master bedroom, children’s room, and kids’ playroom. Each room has its own bathroom and walk-in closet. If guests visit in the future, we’ll entertain them on the first floor, so as not to disturb the kids’ rest."
Simon mentioned "kids" because, subconsciously, he was already thinking about fulfilling the promise he made to Old Master Forrester—to eventually have three children with Sienna.
Sienna didn’t catch the subtlety in his words and was very satisfied, nodding: "The first floor has a living room, kitchen dining area, maid’s room, guest room, billiard room, and banquet hall... quite good, very comprehensive!"
The villa’s design isn’t the conventional room-by-room separation with walls. On the first floor, there are hardly any walls, just scientifically segmented functional areas for optimal comfort, visibility, and space utilization. It doesn’t look cluttered at all but instead gives a strong sense of art.
Sienna didn’t understand design and wasn’t familiar with aesthetics. Seeing the villa had everything—much more entertaining than their current flat apartment—she didn’t have many major suggestions, only one: "I’ll need three vanity areas."
"Hmm?" Simon thought he misheard, "It’s the first time I’ve heard of a woman needing three vanity areas."
Sienna laughed, "One in the walk-in closet, one in the bathroom, and one in the master bedroom. I have my reasons—I’m not just making random suggestions."
"Alright." Simon started modifying the design, beginning with the master bathroom. "Should the bathroom vanity be next to the sink?"
"Yes! I want to use the sink on the right side, with a cabinet next to it. The top three layers should have no doors, and the bottom four should have doors. Then, a small fridge at the very bottom." She could only give this much input; she knew nothing about dimensions.
Simon’s left hand tapped a few keys on the keyboard, and his hand moved over the touchpad. In an instant, a simple white standing cabinet appeared next to the right-hand sink. To balance it out, Simon added a matching one on the left side: "The left side one can be a spare; it should come in handy."
The scene then switched to the walk-in closet, where Simon had reduced the size of the shoe and bag cabinets, leaving a 1.5-meter width to fit a simple vanity. Since he had designed a vanity for Sienna before, he knew her preferences and tailored everything accordingly, needing no input from her.
Sienna was quite satisfied and finally said, "The one in the master bedroom can match the room’s design style." With that, she hugged Simon’s neck and gave him a quick kiss on the lips.
Simon, having finished, turned to her with a smile, "Can you tell me why you need three vanity areas?"
Sienna answered seriously, "You know it’s best to apply skincare products when your face is still damp after washing, right?"
Simon, with his hands around her waist, looked up at her and shook his head, "I didn’t know."
"In the bathroom, after washing my face in the morning and evening, I’ll immediately apply skincare while leaving the bathroom and patting my face. By the time I’m applying makeup in the walk-in closet, the skincare will be fully absorbed, and I can start applying makeup! It’s a time-saving process!"
Simon nodded, "Okay, got it. What about the one in the master bedroom?"
"The master bedroom’s isn’t very functional, but it’s still necessary. It signifies the presence of a female owner—a sense of ritual! Otherwise, without a vanity, wouldn’t it feel like your bachelor bedroom? I’d feel like I don’t belong."
Simon thought it made sense and didn’t ask further, gently kissing her and resting his forehead against hers with a smile, "You don’t need a vanity to signify it; you’re my only lady of the house."
Sienna wrapped her arms around his neck, looking up at him with a flushed face, "Your mouth is so sweet, like it’s smeared with honey..."

On Monday, as soon as Sienna Thornton got to work, she started rearranging her schedule. She first checked with Nolan Kramer to confirm that The Forresters had no cases that required her presence this week, then discussed with Rhonda Wagner and Aurora Buckley, finally securing a two-day leave on Thursday and Friday.
Once the leave was confirmed, Simon Forrester started booking flights and a hotel. This time, he booked a room at the InterContinental Hotel in Silverport. With summer here, the hotel offers outdoor dining tables and a 360-degree infinity pool overlooking the Azure Harbor. Simon planned to take Sienna swimming on the rooftop during their nights in Hong Kong.
Everything was almost ready, and the two packed their luggage on Wednesday night, planning to go to bed early and catch the morning flight.
Just as they were about to sleep, a call came from the family home urgently summoning him back. They insisted he come alone and not bring Sienna.
Simon asked Old Master Forrester what the matter was, but he wouldn’t elaborate, only ordering Simon to come immediately to the family home.
