Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike-Chapter 271 - 268: Let Me Insult You Back
The black S60 drove into the underground parking lot. Simon Forrester parked and turned off the engine, glancing sideways at the little woman who still had her back to him. He smiled helplessly and unbuckled his seatbelt, "Today’s our first anniversary of being together. What gift would you like?"
The back of her head moved slightly, "Wasn’t it last year on Children’s Day that we got together?"
Simon twitched his mouth, "Did you forget?"
"No, I didn’t." The nape of her neck that had been facing him all the way turned around hesitantly, "I just don’t know which day to consider as the day we officially became a couple. Those few days last year were a bit chaotic."
"What was chaotic?" Simon got anxious, "The day we properly kissed, and I told you ’I like you,’ that’s the day we officially got together."
Sienna Thornton immediately recalled one day last June when Simon suddenly showed up early in the morning at her house, accusing her of spending the night with Zion Quincy and went crazy, scolding her and then forcefully kissed her, saying he liked her.
At the time, she was so shocked she froze, never knowing a man’s confession could be so dramatic. She still remembered feeling extremely wronged; even though she had never dated a boyfriend, he misunderstood her to be spending the night with her male best friend.
Thinking about it made Sienna a bit angry again, she glanced at Simon and sneered, "Do you have the nerve to bring that day up? Do you call that a proper kiss? That was a home invasion, forced kiss! That’s sexual harassment, an insult to women! And it’s quite serious; you could get detained for more than five days but less than ten days for it!"
Simon then leaned in with a playful grin, spreading his hands open, pretending to be defenseless, "Really? Then let me insult you back to even the score."
Sienna, speechless, shoved his face away.
Simon pulled back and pretended to ask innocently, "Was it like that? How do I remember gently kissing you, confessing, and then we got together?"
Sienna: "..."
She pursed her lips, not wanting to engage with him anymore, unbuckled her seatbelt, got out of the car, and walked straight to the elevator.
Simon caught up and held her hand, "Alright, let’s not dwell on unhappy things. Come on, let me take you to pick out a gift."
"I don’t really need anything... not buying."
In the elevator, Simon pressed the button for the shopping mall floor and continued, "Don’t all girls’ wardrobes lack a piece of clothing? Are you a girl?"
"... There’s nothing I like here."
Simon knew the brands she liked were mostly in Azure Harbor, so he suggested, "Why not take a few days off and go to Azure Harbor again? It’s summer, you should buy some summer clothes. Last year you only bought autumn and winter gear, right?"
That made Sienna happy, "You have a point! I’ll talk with Rhonda and Aurora at work the day after tomorrow, let’s plan to go next Thursday?"
"Sure!" Seeing her in a good mood, Simon was pleased too, "Then let’s not buy today. Let’s save it for next week."
He then pressed the button for their apartment floor and asked, "We talked about going to Europe earlier, check when you have time this year, and let’s make it happen."
"A month!" Sienna was puzzled, "It’s okay with the law firm, but The Forresters... Nolan keeps reporting me to your dad. If I’m away for a month, your dad will have a reason not to renew the contract with Cognitas next year."
"Next year?" Simon suddenly curled his lips into a naughty smile, "Who knows, next year The Forresters might not have any say from my dad anymore."
"What do you mean?" Sienna looked at him sideways.
"Let’s get married soon, and I’ll ask Grandpa to give me his shares in The Forresters as a wedding gift! Then I’ll kick my dad and Nolan out, and you can run The Forresters!"
Trying another angle for marriage.
To persuade her into marriage, this guy would try anything.
Sienna rolled her eyes and looked away, "... I think finding a one-month break is easier than marrying you. I’ll work on the vacation first."
At that moment, the elevator doors opened. Simon led her out, still smiling, "That works. When we go to Europe, we can prepare the wedding photos, rings, and attire. So if we want to get married when we come back, we can immediately."
As he spoke, he opened the door to their home, and the sensor lights in the entranceway turned on automatically.
Still holding Sienna’s hand, after changing into his slippers, he noticed Sienna balancing on one foot to undo the strap on her high heels and bent down to help with the other side, complaining as he did, "Why do these shoes have so many studs? If you kick someone with them, wouldn’t that be terrible? Your butt would be blooming!"
Sienna was wearing Valentino strap high heels. The shoe opening and the three straps on her instep were covered in light gold studs, looking somewhat like a weapon at first glance.
Looking at the nearly seven thousand dollar pair of high-heels on her feet, she suddenly remembered a post she saw online saying this pair had been ranked among the top three "most hated shoes by straight men" for several consecutive years. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
It proved that some online polls are quite scientific; here, The Straight Man Forrester was subtly expressing his dislike for these shoes.
She chuckled and said, "A single kick in the butt, and there’d be two blooms!" Saying that, she pretended to kick The Straight Man Forrester with the foot not yet in slippers.
The Straight Man Forrester truly felt a shiver run through him; he quickly stood up, jumped back two steps in a flash, and then crab-walked away from her, fearing that his butt would genuinely bloom from those studded shoes.
Sienna laughed until tears came out, wiping her eyes as she changed her shoes, storing them away in the deepest part of the shelf to prevent The Straight Man Forrester from secretly throwing them away.
She often kicked his butt, so much so that he’s always anxious about it.

Sienna came out of the shower and saw Simon, who had also washed up, still busy in the study. She walked over and sat on the armrest of his swivel chair.
Seeing the screen displaying a highly futuristic and technologically advanced dark brown two-story villa, Sienna asked, "Is this a project of yours?"
She knew Simon typically only designed super skyscrapers or landmark projects, and such private villas were usually handled by the design department.
Simon was pressing shortcuts on the design software with his left hand, moving the mouse with his right, his eyes fixed intently on the screen, "No, this is our house we will live in after marriage."
"Ah?" Sienna was both surprised and delighted, leaning in to look at the already formed villa on the screen, "You really are preparing?"
He had never mentioned designing a new house before, and though he casually mentioned at the dinner with Quentin that they would marry once the house was done, she had always thought he was just saying it as a plan, not realizing he had already started designing.
Simon chuckled, releasing his right hand to embrace her slender waist, "I started preparing the night I thought you were pregnant; you’re just in time, tell me if there’s anything you don’t like, and I’ll change it now."
Sienna also laughed, wrapping her arms around his shoulders, "You said once the house is done, we’ll marry, but it doesn’t seem to be anytime soon. Looking at your complex house design, it might take years to build, right?"
