OMG!!! My Crippled Husband is a Hot, Powerful CEO-Chapter 113 – Apology for Kissing Me
Chapter 113: Chapter 113 – Apology for Kissing Me
"Alex, is this real? Where is the venue? It’s getting dark," Joanna inquired anxiously as she scanned their surroundings. The only visible options were the camel and the departing hot air balloon pilot.
"I believe the camel rider will lead us to our next destination," Alex replied calmly, observing the situation.
Joanna couldn’t help but wonder why the hot air balloon pilot had left without a word, and the camel rider seemed equally silent.
"Shouldn’t we confirm with him first?" Joanna expressed her concern, to which Alex shook his head. "There’s no need to ask. He wouldn’t be here if he wasn’t expecting us."
Although Joanna felt a sense of adventure, she remained skeptical about the unfolding events.
"If you’re not going to ask, should I?" she proposed.
Alex saw no harm in her inquiry if she doubted the situation. This was the King’s method of ensuring conception during a family member’s honeymoon.
Alex knew about the expectations during a honeymoon but this was his first time experiencing it.
Since he hadn’t seen the final destination, he could not tell whether the original plan was in motion or someone was playing tricks on time.
"Go ahead," he encouraged Joanna.
Approaching the camel rider, Joanna politely inquired, "Hello, what’s your name? Can we avail of your services?"
The rider remained motionless, not acknowledging her presence or responding. Joanna repeated her question, raising her voice slightly,
"Can you hear me?" It felt as though she was conversing with a statue, and the hot air balloon had already ascended into the sky.
As she reflected on the journey, she realized that the hot air balloon pilot had been silent, suggesting the camel rider might be the same.
"What should we do now?" She asked Alex, who smiled and lifted her, placing her gently on the camel.
Joanna felt embarrassed. Alex had been affectionate with her during the wedding, but she felt it was time to maintain some distance now that they were away from prying eyes.
"There’s no need..." Alex climbed onto the camel behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind and whispered in her ear.
"Isn’t the camel rider also a person?"
Joanna grasped the implication of his words. If the camel rider was arranged by the extended family, he could be acting as a spy.
Why hadn’t she realized this sooner? It explained why Alex had been so close to her during the hot air balloon ride.
"It’s my first time on a camel," Joanna turned her head and mentioned, almost brushing her lips against Alex’s.
"So..." She was about to apologize when Alex kissed her to prevent her from speaking, avoiding any suspicion.
As she pulled away, she blushed and looked ahead, but Alex nuzzled her neck affectionately and whispered in her ear again.
"It’s best if you refrain from speaking. How can you apologize for kissing me in public?"
Joanna felt a pang of disappointment. She had thought the kiss was genuine, but it was all part of the act for Alex.
The kiss was a tactic to silence her and prevent any potential trouble. She decided to stay silent to avoid further complications.
They rode through the night on camelback as the stars began to appear in the sky. "It’s so beautiful. I don’t remember the last time I was able to appreciate the stars like this," Joanna remarked.
Driving through town in a car, he had almost forgotten that stars existed until they sparkled in the sky like little diamonds.
It reminded him of the rhyme, ’twinkle, twinkle, little star,’ but before he could say it, Joanna interrupted.
"I’m wondering if this journey was arranged before or after the wedding. We all thought you were a cripple until now, so how could you have made this trip?" Joanna’s question caught Alex off guard, but he realized that arrangements would have been made.
"I suppose the pilot of the hot air balloon and this camel rider would have assisted. They are following the instructions of the person who hired them. It would have been a member of the extended family who made the arrangements, not necessarily Agnes, although she is responsible for it."
Joanna nodded in agreement but noticed a light in the distance. "Is that where he’s taking us? Why are there trees? I thought this place was a desert."
"Did you forget about the Oasis?" Alex asked, Joanna raised brows. "Does it mean your family purchased the fertile part of the desert to build this cabin?"
They arrived at their destination as the camel came to a stop in front of the cabin.
Joanna’s excitement waned as the exterior of the cabin didn’t match her expectations.
"Here? This is our honeymoon destination?" The camel rider departed as soon as Alex helped Joanna down from the camel.
"He’s leaving. Shouldn’t you stop him?" Joanna felt nervous about the situation, questioning the decision to agree to the marriage.
Alone in the middle of nowhere, Joanna realized the man she knew as a cripple was no longer disabled. She worried about his intentions and the potential complications it could bring to their relationship.
"Let’s go inside first. It’s cold out here, and you need to change out of your wedding gown, although I must say, it looks beautiful on you."
The mention of changing clothes piqued Joanna’s curiosity. "We didn’t bring any bags, so what clothes? And how safe is it here? What if we’re attacked by bandits or something?"
Her mind was filled with unsettling thoughts. Alex reassured her, "Don’t worry. As long as there are fewer than twenty bandits, we’ll be safe. You can trust me."
Joanna was taken aback by the revelation, but certain things started to fall into place, like how Alex handled Cole when they first met. ƒrēenovelkiss.com
"Have you studied martial arts or something?" she asked.
Alex didn’t respond, but once they entered the cabin, he realized what Agnes had done. He swiftly pushed Joanna behind the door and kissed her passionately.
This time, Joanna was caught off guard by the intensity of the moment, feeling that this was more than she bargained for.
However, everything was made clear the moment Alex pulled away, having gone too far this time.
