OMG!!! My Crippled Husband is a Hot, Powerful CEO-Chapter 111 - Mr. Arrogant
Chapter 111: Chapter 111 - Mr. Arrogant
It was unfortunate that Agnes was part of the extended family, the same group of people Alex had enlisted Salvador’s men to protect. Her motives remained a mystery, leaving even Grandpa speechless.
"Nothing. Didn’t you mention giving us a dozen grandchildren?" she inquired, a glint of interest in her eyes. Joanna blushed, feeling a warmth in her stomach.
If only they knew that the extravagant wedding was a charade, they wouldn’t be preparing for a honeymoon.
Her only worry was about how her poor mother was going to take the news after the divorce.
As for Cole and his family, they would be nothing by then. Joanna and Alex had no choice but to go along with it, attending the honeymoon and making the most of their time together.
Joanna couldn’t help but wonder what she would do when Alex preferred solitude. Violet’s presence was a comfort in the vast mansion they called home.
"Thank you," Alex replied in a low, enigmatic tone, sensing there was more to Agnes’s words than met the eye. He knew she wasn’t revealing everything, so he remained cautious about their honeymoon destination.
As the emcee announced the traditional bouquet toss, Alex stepped back, allowing Joanna to throw the bouquet.
He secretly hoped their departure would give Violet and Aiden the opportunity to resolve their issues. That was an escape he was happy about.
Violet stood at a distance, but the bouquet came directly to her, even with Joanna’s back turned, and she flawlessly caught it.
Joanna was excited, despite knowing that Violet was not in a serious relationship.
Miracles could happen, and the length of dating does not guarantee marriage, just as the lack of dating is not a guarantee of spinsterhood.
Congratulatory messages flooded Violet’s way as if she were the bride, simply because she effortlessly caught the bouquet.
Alex and Joanna boarded the hot air balloon waiting for them, unaware of their honeymoon destination.
Due to the heaviness of Joanna’s gown, Alex had to carry her into the hot air balloon, and he wondered what they would have done if he were still pretending to be in a wheelchair.
Guests, family, friends, business partners, and all waved goodbye with well wishes for them to have children after their honeymoon.
Aiden approached Violet as other guests continued to dance, eat, and drink, with some, like grandpa, also leaving.
"The saying goes that whoever catches the bouquet is next in line. Are you?" Aiden asked Violet, attempting to start a conversation with the woman who had treated him like a gigolo after a one-night stand.
Feeling insulted by his attitude, Violet gave him a tight smile, feeling no obligation to explain herself due to his past actions.
"The wedding is over. You don’t have to talk to me," she said, taking a sip of wine and attempting to move away to find a dance partner. However, Aiden caught her hand before she could escape.
He took the empty wine glass from her dropping it on a tray carried by a waiter passing by.
As Violet tried to pick another glass of wine from another passing waiter, Aiden wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close, as he said,
"Stop giving me attitude. It’s not like I’m in love with you or anything."
Despite Violet’s attempts to break free, his words stung, and she struggled against his surprisingly strong grip.
"Then mind your own business, Mr. Arrogant," she replied through gritted teeth, her anger burning with it.
A smirk lifted the corner of Aiden’s lips, and he was glad Alex wasn’t there to stop him. Anger thickened his voice as he taunted, "You enjoyed that night, didn’t you?"
Violet’s eyes darkened dangerously at the recollection of what transpired between them that night.
"Fuck you, whatever your name is," she raged, trying to pull away from him but being trapped in Aiden’s arms made it impossible for her to escape unless he let her go willingly.
She wanted to scream, but the fact that Aiden was Alex’s best friend and this was Joanna’s wedding made her reconsider such a motive as it would be too demeaning for them.
From the way Aiden pinned her to his chest, anyone would think they were having a sweet conversation, unaware that a silent war was brewing between them.
"What if we do it again?" Aiden leaned in close to her ear and whispered. Violet felt insulted, and her anger burned deep.
"We can be more like friends with benefits," Aiden added insult to injury, and Violet lost her cool, slapping him hard.
The music drowned out the sound of the slap, concealing it from others, but Aiden fixed a stern gaze on her. It was the first time he had been slapped, and by a woman no less.
However, Violet’s harsh words that followed stung even more, "You’re such an asshole, and I never want to see you again."
Aiden, though not interested in her, felt the sting of her words more than the physical pain of the slap. He held her tighter, his eyes locked on hers.
"Does it hurt? You paid me two hundred dollars for my services. How about I pay you more for another night?" His tone was mocking, but his true feelings were hurt.
Violet showed no remorse and attempted to strike him again, but he caught her hand mid-air. "Don’t even try. You were the one who humiliated me first."
"And you were the one who erased all traces of yourself from the cameras. What did you take me for?"
At that moment, she had hoped for a potential connection between them or a chance to meet again, as he had suggested earlier. However, upon realizing he was a friend of Alex, she wanted nothing to do with him.
"I erased the cameras to protect myself, and your payment is an insult."
"Then give it back. And why are you still holding me? Are you falling for me?" Aiden’s arms around her loosened instantly, but his words extinguished something within her.
