Oh No, Daddy Sent Me To The Beast World!-Chapter 38: Okay, I am ready to go
She threw both hands into the air after saying this, looking so aggrieved that if the system had appeared in front of her right now, she probably would have tried to bite it.
Then she lowered her voice a little and said in a deeply wounded tone, "Pa, this place does not even have a shower."
At last, Lin Zhanshan’s expression shifted.
Very slightly.
It was not a smile.
Absolutely not.
It was simply the tiny facial movement of a man who was forcibly swallowing down the fact that his daughter had just listed "no shower" with the same importance as attempted murder.
Lin Huahua, however, treated it as the final tragedy.
"Do you know what that means?" she asked, her voice cracking with fresh despair. "I had to think about how to bathe like some kind of caveman. Me! Lin Huahua! Your daughter! A jewel of the Lin family! A child of the advanced sci-fi era! Pa, if I stay here any longer, I will become wild!"
She looked genuinely horrified at the thought.
And because she was a white rat beastwoman in this simulation, every bit of her horror looked extra vivid on her small expressive face. Her ears twitched. Her little tail flicked nervously behind her. Her fingers twisted together once, then came apart as she paced in front of the hologram with quick tiny steps like a restless white rat trying to dig through ten layers of complaint at once.
Lin Zhanshan watched her pace.
Watched her rant.
Watched her point accusingly at invisible enemies.
Watched her show him every scrape and complaint she could think of.
At the same time, inside his heart, a much quieter feeling had already taken root.
Relief.
And something close to pride.
When he had first sent her into the simulation, his heart really had ached.
Lin Huahua was his only daughter.
His precious girl.
His pampered child who had been raised under everyone’s care from the day she was born.
He knew her nature better than anyone.
He knew she was clever, but lazy.
Bold, but only when she felt safe.
Soft, spoiled, dramatic, and terribly good at making even the smallest hardship sound like a world ending disaster.
That was why he had hesitated before placing her here.
At first, he had even considered pulling her out again.
He had watched the first stretch of her time in the simulation and thought perhaps this really was too much.
Perhaps she would cry. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Perhaps she would panic.
Perhaps she would collapse and refuse to move another step.
But then she had not.
She had complained, yes.
A lot.
She had also adapted.
She had looked around.
Thought.
Asked questions.
Picked herbs and leaves.
Watched the people around her.
Protected her own pride.
Stood her ground when provoked.
Used her small head for more than simply planning how to avoid effort.
And for the first time in a very long while, Lin Zhanshan had seen his daughter doing basic things by herself.
It was only one day in the simulation.
On the outside, in the sci-fi world, it had not even been long at all. Barely any time had passed. To him, it felt like only a handful of minutes since he had sent her in.
Yet inside the simulation, so much had already happened.
Enough for him to realize that this experience might truly do her some good.
While Lin Zhanshan was thinking this, Lin Huahua was still talking.
Her yapping showed no sign of mercy.
"Also," she said suddenly, turning around again and pointing at the air, "after I come back, you need to give those males a better female."
Lin Zhanshan’s eyes narrowed slightly.
Lin Huahua, now fully committed to the emotional performance of the century, continued, "They are pitiful. Truly pitiful. They are living terrible lives here. They do everything. Everything! They hunt, they clean, they cook, they get injured, they get bullied, and then they still have to look at my face every day. Actually, that part is lucky for them because my face is beautiful, but the point still stands."
She sniffed again and added, "You should arrange a better female for them. A kind one. A normal one. A useful one. Someone who knows how to cook properly and will not hit them all the time."
The fact that she was saying this while standing there as the current female in their lives made the whole matter even more ridiculous.
Lin Zhanshan almost asked whether she had remembered that she herself was the problem in this simulation setting.
In the end, he remained silent because his daughter clearly had more to say.
She did.
Much more.
"Also, I think this simulation is unfair," Lin Huahua said. "Why am I in this kind of beast world anyway? And why am I in this kind of family setup? And why is everything so primitive? And why is the system on your side? And why is there no instant food delivery? And why are the males here all..." She paused, then muttered suspiciously, "...so weirdly nice looking?"
That last part escaped before she could stop it.
Lin Zhanshan raised a brow.
Lin Huahua immediately coughed and changed direction. "Anyway, that part is not important. The point is, I have suffered enough. You have now seen enough. I have now learned enough. I think this has been very educational. Very moving. Very character building. So, Pa..."
She straightened up.
Lifted her chin.
Smoothed her hair.
Then gave him her most well behaved expression, the one that usually appeared only when she wanted something.
"Okay," Lin Huahua said sweetly. "I am ready to go."
Lin Zhanshan looked at her.
Then he said, "No."
Lin Huahua’s smile froze.
Completely froze.
It froze so hard that for one terrible second, even her tail stopped moving.
Then she blinked once.
Twice.
"Ha?" she said.
Lin Zhanshan’s deep voice remained steady. "You are not going anywhere. You will stay in the simulation until you complete it properly."
Lin Huahua stared at him as though she had just been struck in the head with a giant wooden hammer.
