Oh No, Daddy Sent Me To The Beast World!-Chapter 31: Cutting Meat Into Tiny Pieces
Lin Huahua ran into the cave house with quick little steps, her mood bouncing back so fast that it really made people wonder if this little rat had hidden a spring under her feet.
The inside of the cave house was cool and dim, but it was not ugly at all. The stone walls had been cleaned properly, and there were dried herbs hanging from one side, bundles of animal hide folded neatly in another corner, and a few flat stone tables that had been rubbed smooth from long use.
The air still held the smell of roasted meat, firewood, and the faint fresh scent of leaves that Mu Qingyi had probably cleaned earlier. Outside, the world looked rough and wild, full of dirt paths and old stone shelters, but inside this place there was still warmth. It felt lived in. It felt safe.
Lin Huahua stood in the middle and looked around with bright eyes, as if she was a little commander inspecting her territory.
Then she thought of the leaves.
Then she thought of the meat.
Then her little face lit up.
Thankfully because of the knowledge she had, it was really easy for her to recognize most of the spices she could use to make the meat even better.
What was even better was that in the future she could use those herbs and to make way better and healthy foods later.
She planned on going out later to even look for more. Because she thought that she father may be a bit heartless to send her into a beast world simulation.
But surly he couldn’t have been so heartless to not include other foods right.
Hmm since Mu Qingyi and Feng Yiren had mentioned rice earlier, that means there must be way more other food I can recognize.
Lin Huahua thought happily as she bounced on her feet, it should not be hard to find and locate more.
Then she thought about the meat again.
Today, she was going to cook properly.
Well, maybe "properly" was a very ambitious word.
Still, in Lin Huahua’s heart, she was already imagining a rich and fragrant meal that would shock these beastmen so badly that their tails would stand straight.
At that moment, Mu Qingyi and Feng Yiren also walked in behind her, while Hu Baiyu followed more slowly because of his injuries.
The three males had just stepped in when Lin Huahua immediately turned around and started giving orders with the serious face of someone who clearly believed she was doing something very important.
"Mu Qingyi, take the meat and wash it properly," Lin Huahua said, lifting a finger. "Then cut it small. No, not just small. Cut it really, really small."
Mu Qingyi paused. Feng Yiren also paused.
Even Hu Baiyu, who had only just sat down quietly near the wall, lifted his eyes.
Lin Huahua noticed their expressions and crossed her arms at once. "What? Why are you all looking at me like that?"
The reason they were looking at her like that was very simple.
Earlier that morning, Mu Qingyi had already roasted meat for her once. At that time, he had cut it into large pieces the way beastmen usually did. Big chunks, thick slices, one bite could fill the whole mouth. It was the normal way.
It was the efficient way. It was the way people who lived in a rough Stone Age world handled food.
But now Lin Huahua was standing there and telling him to cut it into tiny pieces as if she was preparing food for a very delicate bird.
Mu Qingyi was confused, but he did not question her.
First, because he truly wanted to do well.
Second, because if this was something she wanted, then of course he would do it.
So the deer only nodded gently and said, "Alright."
His voice was calm as always, but in his heart he was already taking this very seriously.
Cut smaller. Then cut smaller. Then even smaller.
If she wanted the meat neat and fine, then he would make it neat and fine. A deer beastman was naturally careful and patient. Although cutting meat into tiny pieces would take more time, Mu Qingyi actually did not mind at all. In fact, he was secretly pleased.
Because this meant Lin Huahua was going to eat meat.
This was something worth being happy about.
In the past, the old Lin Huahua had been very difficult to please. She disliked ordinary meat, disliked rough meals, disliked simple food, and preferred delicate things that were much harder to get in a tribal world like this.
Rice, fruits, sweet things, rare things, things that were troublesome and expensive. Her demands had always floated high in the sky, while the males under her roof had to jump until their bones cracked trying to reach them.
They never gave up, of course.
Males in the beast world were like that when it came to their female. Once they cared, they cared very deeply. Even if they could not reach the stars, they would still keep trying to climb the tree.
So now that Lin Huahua was finally eating the kind of food they could actually prepare with their own hands, Mu Qingyi honestly felt relieved.
Very relieved. A little happy too. No, not a little. Very happy.
So he took the meat at once and headed outside to wash and cut it, his large deer antlers almost brushing the hide curtain as he left.
The antlers looked especially striking against his calm face, making him look gentle and noble at the same time, like a forest spirit who had somehow ended up doing kitchen work.
Lin Huahua watched him go and nodded in satisfaction.
Then she turned to Feng Yiren. The moment she looked at him, she already felt a headache coming.
This fox was handsome, yes. This fox was useful, yes. This fox also had the kind of stubborn face that made people want to throw him into a river.
